Sura 16: An-Naḥl (The Bee)

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

In the name of God, The All Gracious, The All Merciful

أَتَىٰٓ أَمْرُ ٱللَّهِ فَلَا تَسْتَعْجِلُوهُ سُبْحَـٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَـٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ ١

[16:1] God's command has already been issued; do not rush it. Be He glorified and The Most High, how can they set up partners for Him?

يُنَزِّلُ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةَ بِٱلرُّوحِ مِنْ أَمْرِهِۦ عَلَىٰ مَن يَشَآءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِۦٓ أَنْ أَنذِرُوٓا۟ أَنَّهُۥ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنَا۠ فَٱتَّقُونِ ٢

[16:2] He sends the angels with the Spirit according to His command to whomever He wills from amongst His servants, in order to warn that there is no god except Me, therefore, you shall be reverent.

خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ بِٱلْحَقِّ تَعَـٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ ٣

[16:3] He created the vacua and matter truthfully. The Most High, how can they set up partners for Him?

خَلَقَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ فَإِذَا هُوَ خَصِيمٌ مُّبِينٌ ٤

[16:4] He created the human being from semen; then he turns into a most manifest enemy.

وَٱلْأَنْعَـٰمَ خَلَقَهَا لَكُمْ فِيهَا دِفْءٌ وَمَنَـٰفِعُ وَمِنْهَا تَأْكُلُونَ ٥

[16:5] And the livestock, He created them; for you in them is warmth and benefits and from them you eat.

وَلَكُمْ فِيهَا جَمَالٌ حِينَ تُرِيحُونَ وَحِينَ تَسْرَحُونَ ٦

[16:6] And there is beauty in them for you when you relax and when you travel.

وَتَحْمِلُ أَثْقَالَكُمْ إِلَىٰ بَلَدٍ لَّمْ تَكُونُوا۟ بَـٰلِغِيهِ إِلَّا بِشِقِّ ٱلْأَنفُسِ إِنَّ رَبَّكُمْ لَرَءُوفٌ رَّحِيمٌ ٧

[16:7] And they carry your loads to the town that you could not get there except with great difficulty. Indeed your Lord is All Compassionate, All Merciful.

وَٱلْخَيْلَ وَٱلْبِغَالَ وَٱلْحَمِيرَ لِتَرْكَبُوهَا وَزِينَةً وَيَخْلُقُ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ ٨

[16:8] And the horses, the mules and the donkeys for you to ride as well as luxury. And He creates what you do not know.

وَعَلَى ٱللَّهِ قَصْدُ ٱلسَّبِيلِ وَمِنْهَا جَآئِرٌ وَلَوْ شَآءَ لَهَدَىٰكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ ٩

[16:9] And God points the paths; and some of them are the wrong ones. Had He willed, He would have guided you all.

هُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءً لَّكُم مِّنْهُ شَرَابٌ وَمِنْهُ شَجَرٌ فِيهِ تُسِيمُونَ ١٠

[16:10] He is the One who sends the water from the sky, wherein there is a drink as well as to grow plants as a source of nutrition.

يُنۢبِتُ لَكُم بِهِ ٱلزَّرْعَ وَٱلزَّيْتُونَ وَٱلنَّخِيلَ وَٱلْأَعْنَـٰبَ وَمِن كُلِّ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ ١١

[16:11] He grows for you through it grain and olive and date palms and grapes and all kinds of fruits. Indeed in this there are signs for people who think.

وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ ٱلَّيْلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ وَٱلشَّمْسَ وَٱلْقَمَرَ وَٱلنُّجُومُ مُسَخَّرَٰتٌۢ بِأَمْرِهِۦٓ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَـٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ ١٢

[16:12] And He subdued for you the night and the day and the sun and the moon, and the stars are subservient to His command. Indeed in this there are signs for people who use their intelligence.

وَمَا ذَرَأَ لَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُخْتَلِفًا أَلْوَٰنُهُۥٓ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَذَّكَّرُونَ ١٣

[16:13] And He created for you matter of various colors. Indeed in this there are signs for people who take heed.

وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى سَخَّرَ ٱلْبَحْرَ لِتَأْكُلُوا۟ مِنْهُ لَحْمًا طَرِيًّا وَتَسْتَخْرِجُوا۟ مِنْهُ حِلْيَةً تَلْبَسُونَهَا وَتَرَى ٱلْفُلْكَ مَوَاخِرَ فِيهِ وَلِتَبْتَغُوا۟ مِن فَضْلِهِۦ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ ١٤

[16:14] And He is the One who subdued the sea for you, so you can eat from it fresh meat and to bring out jewelry from it to wear; and you see the ships sailing therein as you seek His bounty, that you may be appreciative.

وَأَلْقَىٰ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ رَوَٰسِىَ أَن تَمِيدَ بِكُمْ وَأَنْهَـٰرًا وَسُبُلًا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ ١٥

[16:15] And He placed stabilizers on the land; otherwise it would tumble with you, and streams and roads that you may find your way.

وَعَلَـٰمَـٰتٍ وَبِٱلنَّجْمِ هُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ ١٦

[16:16] And He placed signposts therein. And He guides you using the stars.

أَفَمَن يَخْلُقُ كَمَن لَّا يَخْلُقُ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ ١٧

[16:17] Therefore, is the one who creates like the one who does not create? Do you not then take heed?

وَإِن تَعُدُّوا۟ نِعْمَةَ ٱللَّهِ لَا تُحْصُوهَآ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَغَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ ١٨

[16:18] And if you try to count God's blessings, you would not be able to. Indeed God is All Forgiver, All Merciful.

وَٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا تُسِرُّونَ وَمَا تُعْلِنُونَ ١٩

[16:19] And God knows what you conceal and what you declare.

وَٱلَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ لَا يَخْلُقُونَ شَيْـًٔا وَهُمْ يُخْلَقُونَ ٢٠

[16:20] As for those whom they call upon besides God; they have not created a thing, and they themselves are created.

أَمْوَٰتٌ غَيْرُ أَحْيَآءٍ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ أَيَّانَ يُبْعَثُونَ ٢١

[16:21] They are dead, not alive, and they cannot understand until they are resurrected.

إِلَـٰهُكُمْ إِلَـٰهٌ وَٰحِدٌ فَٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ قُلُوبُهُم مُّنكِرَةٌ وَهُم مُّسْتَكْبِرُونَ ٢٢

[16:22] Your god is one god. As for those who do not believe in the Hereafter, their hearts are in denial and they are arrogant.

لَا جَرَمَ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُسْتَكْبِرِينَ ٢٣

[16:23] It is indeed a fact that God knows what you conceal and what you declare. Indeed He does not love those who are arrogant.

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُم مَّاذَآ أَنزَلَ رَبُّكُمْ قَالُوٓا۟ أَسَـٰطِيرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ٢٤

[16:24] And when they are asked, what has your Lord revealed? They say tales from the past.

لِيَحْمِلُوٓا۟ أَوْزَارَهُمْ كَامِلَةً يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ وَمِنْ أَوْزَارِ ٱلَّذِينَ يُضِلُّونَهُم بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ أَلَا سَآءَ مَا يَزِرُونَ ٢٥

[16:25] Because of this, they will carry a full load of their sins on the Day of Resurrection as well as the sins of those whom they misled without knowledge. Absolutely, what a miserable load!

قَدْ مَكَرَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ فَأَتَى ٱللَّهُ بُنْيَـٰنَهُم مِّنَ ٱلْقَوَاعِدِ فَخَرَّ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلسَّقْفُ مِن فَوْقِهِمْ وَأَتَىٰهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ ٢٦

[16:26] Indeed those before them schemed then God uprooted them from their bases and brought down the ceiling upon them and the suffering came from a direction that they did not even expect.

ثُمَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ يُخْزِيهِمْ وَيَقُولُ أَيْنَ شُرَكَآءِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ كُنتُمْ تُشَـٰٓقُّونَ فِيهِمْ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْعِلْمَ إِنَّ ٱلْخِزْىَ ٱلْيَوْمَ وَٱلسُّوٓءَ عَلَى ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ ٢٧

[16:27] Then on the Day of Resurrection He will humiliate them and will say; where are My partners that you were arguing on their behalf? Those who possess knowledge will say, indeed humility has befallen them on this day and evil has afflicted the unfaithful.

ٱلَّذِينَ تَتَوَفَّىٰهُمُ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ ظَالِمِىٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ فَأَلْقَوُا۟ ٱلسَّلَمَ مَا كُنَّا نَعْمَلُ مِن سُوٓءٍۭ بَلَىٰٓ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِيمٌۢ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ ٢٨

[16:28] These are the ones whom the angels terminate their lives in the state of wronging their souls, then they claim peace, we did not mean anything bad. Yes indeed God knows full well of everything you were doing.

فَٱدْخُلُوٓا۟ أَبْوَٰبَ جَهَنَّمَ خَـٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا فَلَبِئْسَ مَثْوَى ٱلْمُتَكَبِّرِينَ ٢٩

[16:29] Therefore, enter the gates of Gehenna, wherein you abide forever, what a miserable abode for the arrogant ones.

وَقِيلَ لِلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوْا۟ مَاذَآ أَنزَلَ رَبُّكُمْ قَالُوا۟ خَيْرًا لِّلَّذِينَ أَحْسَنُوا۟ فِى هَـٰذِهِ ٱلدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةٌ وَلَدَارُ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ خَيْرٌ وَلَنِعْمَ دَارُ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ ٣٠

[16:30] And when the faithful are asked what your Lord has revealed; they say; goodness for those who lead a righteous life in this world and even better in the Hereafter. And what a blissful abode for the god-fearing ones.

جَنَّـٰتُ عَدْنٍ يَدْخُلُونَهَا تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ لَهُمْ فِيهَا مَا يَشَآءُونَ كَذَٰلِكَ يَجْزِى ٱللَّهُ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ ٣١

[16:31] Garden of Eden, they enter therein while rivers flowing beneath them; they will have everything they wish for. God thus rewards the god-fearing ones.

ٱلَّذِينَ تَتَوَفَّىٰهُمُ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ طَيِّبِينَ يَقُولُونَ سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱدْخُلُوا۟ ٱلْجَنَّةَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ ٣٢

[16:32] These are the ones whom the angels terminate their lives in the state of purity, saying peace be upon you, enter Paradise because of what you did.

هَلْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّآ أَن تَأْتِيَهُمُ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ أَوْ يَأْتِىَ أَمْرُ رَبِّكَ كَذَٰلِكَ فَعَلَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ وَمَا ظَلَمَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَلَـٰكِن كَانُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ ٣٣

[16:33] Are they waiting for the angels to come to them or your Lord's command to be issued? This is how those before them behaved. God did not commit injustice against them; on the contrary they committed injustice against their own souls.

فَأَصَابَهُمْ سَيِّـَٔاتُ مَا عَمِلُوا۟ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ ٣٤

[16:34] Then the evil of their deeds caught up with them, and the very thing they ridiculed came back to haunt them.

وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوا۟ لَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ مَا عَبَدْنَا مِن دُونِهِۦ مِن شَىْءٍ نَّحْنُ وَلَآ ءَابَآؤُنَا وَلَا حَرَّمْنَا مِن دُونِهِۦ مِن شَىْءٍ كَذَٰلِكَ فَعَلَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ فَهَلْ عَلَى ٱلرُّسُلِ إِلَّا ٱلْبَلَـٰغُ ٱلْمُبِينُ ٣٥

[16:35] And those who set up partners for god said; had God willed we would not have worshiped anything besides Him, neither our parents, nor would we have prohibited anything beyond His command. And thus was the behavior of those before them. Therefore, can the messengers do anything but deliver the message?

وَلَقَدْ بَعَثْنَا فِى كُلِّ أُمَّةٍ رَّسُولًا أَنِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱجْتَنِبُوا۟ ٱلطَّـٰغُوتَ فَمِنْهُم مَّنْ هَدَى ٱللَّهُ وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ حَقَّتْ عَلَيْهِ ٱلضَّلَـٰلَةُ فَسِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَٱنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ٣٦

[16:36] And indeed, We raised a messenger for every community in order for them to worship God and avoid idolatry, then there were those whom God guided and there are those whom deserved to go astray. Therefore, you shall roam the land and see the consequence for the rejecters.

إِن تَحْرِصْ عَلَىٰ هُدَىٰهُمْ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِى مَن يُضِلُّ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن نَّـٰصِرِينَ ٣٧

[16:37] You may be eager to see them guided, but God does not guide those He sends astray, and they will have no helpers.

وَأَقْسَمُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ جَهْدَ أَيْمَـٰنِهِمْ لَا يَبْعَثُ ٱللَّهُ مَن يَمُوتُ بَلَىٰ وَعْدًا عَلَيْهِ حَقًّا وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ ٣٨

[16:38] And they swear by God a solemn oath that God will not resurrect those who die. Yes indeed His promise is the truth, but most people do not know.

لِيُبَيِّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلَّذِى يَخْتَلِفُونَ فِيهِ وَلِيَعْلَمَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ كَـٰذِبِينَ ٣٩

[16:39] This is to clarify for those who dispute it and for the unfaithful to realize that they are liars.

إِنَّمَا قَوْلُنَا لِشَىْءٍ إِذَآ أَرَدْنَـٰهُ أَن نَّقُولَ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ ٤٠

[16:40] Indeed, the only thing We say to a thing when We will, is; "Be" and it is.

وَٱلَّذِينَ هَاجَرُوا۟ فِى ٱللَّهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا ظُلِمُوا۟ لَنُبَوِّئَنَّهُمْ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَلَأَجْرُ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ أَكْبَرُ لَوْ كَانُوا۟ يَعْلَمُونَ ٤١

[16:41] As for those who emigrated in the cause of God after they suffered persecution, We indeed inform them of goodness in this world and the reward of the Hereafter is even bigger if they could only realize it.

ٱلَّذِينَ صَبَرُوا۟ وَعَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ ٤٢

[16:42] These are the ones who persevered, and in their Lord they trusted.

وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ إِلَّا رِجَالًا نُّوحِىٓ إِلَيْهِمْ فَسْـَٔلُوٓا۟ أَهْلَ ٱلذِّكْرِ إِن كُنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ ٤٣

[16:43] And We did not send before you except men whom We inspired. Therefore, all of you shall ask those who understand this reminder if you do not know.

بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ وَٱلزُّبُرِ وَأَنزَلْنَآ إِلَيْكَ ٱلذِّكْرَ لِتُبَيِّنَ لِلنَّاسِ مَا نُزِّلَ إِلَيْهِمْ وَلَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ ٤٤

[16:44] We sent them with proofs and scriptures. And We revealed to you this reminder in order to clarify for the people what was not revealed to them, that they may think.

أَفَأَمِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ مَكَرُوا۟ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ أَن يَخْسِفَ ٱللَّهُ بِهِمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ أَوْ يَأْتِيَهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ ٤٥

[16:45] Have those who schemed evil guaranteed that God will not bury them in their land or that they will not receive the suffering from where they never expected it?

أَوْ يَأْخُذَهُمْ فِى تَقَلُّبِهِمْ فَمَا هُم بِمُعْجِزِينَ ٤٦

[16:46] Or that He will punish them because of their fabrications and they will never be victorious?

أَوْ يَأْخُذَهُمْ عَلَىٰ تَخَوُّفٍ فَإِنَّ رَبَّكُمْ لَرَءُوفٌ رَّحِيمٌ ٤٧

[16:47] Or He may punish them when they fear it the most, indeed your Lord, is surely All Compassionate, All Merciful.

أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ إِلَىٰ مَا خَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ مِن شَىْءٍ يَتَفَيَّؤُا۟ ظِلَـٰلُهُۥ عَنِ ٱلْيَمِينِ وَٱلشَّمَآئِلِ سُجَّدًا لِّلَّهِ وَهُمْ دَٰخِرُونَ ٤٨

[16:48] Do they not realize what God has created of objects, where their shadows bracketed to the right and the left prostrate to God and they do so forcibly.

وَلِلَّهِ يَسْجُدُ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مِن دَآبَّةٍ وَٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ وَهُمْ لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ ٤٩

[16:49] And to God prostrates everything in the vacua and everything within matter from all the creatures and the angels, and they are never arrogant.

يَخَافُونَ رَبَّهُم مِّن فَوْقِهِمْ وَيَفْعَلُونَ مَا يُؤْمَرُونَ ۩ ٥٠

[16:50] They fear their Lord above them and they do exactly what they are commanded to do.

وَقَالَ ٱللَّهُ لَا تَتَّخِذُوٓا۟ إِلَـٰهَيْنِ ٱثْنَيْنِ إِنَّمَا هُوَ إِلَـٰهٌ وَٰحِدٌ فَإِيَّـٰىَ فَٱرْهَبُونِ ٥١

[16:51] And God said, do not assume two gods, for indeed He is one god, therefore, you shall be mindful of Me alone.

وَلَهُۥ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَهُ ٱلدِّينُ وَاصِبًا أَفَغَيْرَ ٱللَّهِ تَتَّقُونَ ٥٢

[16:52] And to Him belongs everything in the vacua and matter and the religion shall be always devoted to Him. Do you fear other than God?

وَمَا بِكُم مِّن نِّعْمَةٍ فَمِنَ ٱللَّهِ ثُمَّ إِذَا مَسَّكُمُ ٱلضُّرُّ فَإِلَيْهِ تَجْـَٔرُونَ ٥٣

[16:53] Every blessing that you have is from God, and then when an adversity touches you, you complain to Him.

ثُمَّ إِذَا كَشَفَ ٱلضُّرَّ عَنكُمْ إِذَا فَرِيقٌ مِّنكُم بِرَبِّهِمْ يُشْرِكُونَ ٥٤

[16:54] Then once He relieves the adversity from you, a group of you revert to setting up partners for their Lord.

[16:55] They are unappreciative for what He gave them. Therefore, enjoy temporarily, you will soon find out.

[16:56] They assumed the provision we gave them is because of their good fortune, without knowledge. By God, they will be questioned for what they fabricated.

[16:57] They invented daughters for God, be He glorified, and they assigned to themselves what they liked.

وَإِذَا بُشِّرَ أَحَدُهُم بِٱلْأُنثَىٰ ظَلَّ وَجْهُهُۥ مُسْوَدًّا وَهُوَ كَظِيمٌ ٥٨

[16:58] And when one of them is given the news of a daughter, a dark shadow covers his face and he becomes mighty angry.

يَتَوَٰرَىٰ مِنَ ٱلْقَوْمِ مِن سُوٓءِ مَا بُشِّرَ بِهِۦٓ أَيُمْسِكُهُۥ عَلَىٰ هُونٍ أَمْ يَدُسُّهُۥ فِى ٱلتُّرَابِ أَلَا سَآءَ مَا يَحْكُمُونَ ٥٩

[16:59] He hides from his people because of the bad news he just received. Should he keep it despite the humility or should he bury it in the dirt? What a miserable decision!

[16:60] As for those who disbelieved in the Hereafter, they set a bad example and to God belongs the best examples. And He is The Almighty, The All Wise.

[16:61] If God were to punish the people for their transgressions, He would have not left a single creature, but He respites them for a predetermined interim, then once their interim is over they can neither delay it an hour nor advance it.

وَيَجْعَلُونَ لِلَّهِ مَا يَكْرَهُونَ وَتَصِفُ أَلْسِنَتُهُمُ ٱلْكَذِبَ أَنَّ لَهُمُ ٱلْحُسْنَىٰ لَا جَرَمَ أَنَّ لَهُمُ ٱلنَّارَ وَأَنَّهُم مُّفْرَطُونَ ٦٢

[16:62] They attribute to God what they are reluctant to have themselves and their tongues give deceptive description that indeed reserved for them is goodness; without a doubt, surely Hell is awaiting them and indeed they have transgressed.

[16:63] By God, We have indeed sent messengers before you to various communities, then Satan adorned their works, therefore he is their ally on that day and awaiting them is a painful suffering.

وَمَآ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ إِلَّا لِتُبَيِّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلَّذِى ٱخْتَلَفُوا۟ فِيهِ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ ٦٤

[16:64] And We revealed to you this scripture only to clarify for them what they disputed, as well as guidance and a mercy for people who have faith.

[16:65] And God sends the water from the sky in order to revive the land after its death. Indeed in this, there is a proof for people who hear.

وَإِنَّ لَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِ لَعِبْرَةً نُّسْقِيكُم مِّمَّا فِى بُطُونِهِۦ مِنۢ بَيْنِ فَرْثٍ وَدَمٍ لَّبَنًا خَالِصًا سَآئِغًا لِّلشَّـٰرِبِينَ ٦٦

[16:66] And surely in the livestock, there is a learning experience for you. You drink from their bellies, from the midst of fat and blood, comes pure milk, delicious for the drinkers.

وَمِن ثَمَرَٰتِ ٱلنَّخِيلِ وَٱلْأَعْنَـٰبِ تَتَّخِذُونَ مِنْهُ سَكَرًا وَرِزْقًا حَسَنًا إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ ٦٧

[16:67] And from the fruits, the date palms and the grapes, you extract wine and good provision. Indeed in this, there is a proof for the people who use their intelligence.

وَأَوْحَىٰ رَبُّكَ إِلَى ٱلنَّحْلِ أَنِ ٱتَّخِذِى مِنَ ٱلْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا وَمِنَ ٱلشَّجَرِ وَمِمَّا يَعْرِشُونَ ٦٨

[16:68] And your Lord inspired the bee to make homes in the mountains and in the trees and in what they build.

ثُمَّ كُلِى مِن كُلِّ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ فَٱسْلُكِى سُبُلَ رَبِّكِ ذُلُلًا يَخْرُجُ مِنۢ بُطُونِهَا شَرَابٌ مُّخْتَلِفٌ أَلْوَٰنُهُۥ فِيهِ شِفَآءٌ لِّلنَّاسِ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ ٦٩

[16:69] Then eat from all kinds of fruits, following the paths of your Lord with humility. From their bellies comes out a drink of various colors, wherein there is healing for the people. Indeed in this, there is a proof for the people who think.

وَٱللَّهُ خَلَقَكُمْ ثُمَّ يَتَوَفَّىٰكُمْ وَمِنكُم مَّن يُرَدُّ إِلَىٰٓ أَرْذَلِ ٱلْعُمُرِ لِكَىْ لَا يَعْلَمَ بَعْدَ عِلْمٍ شَيْـًٔا إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ قَدِيرٌ ٧٠

[16:70] And God created you, then, He terminates your life. And amongst you are those whom He takes to the oldest age, in order to show that you cannot learn any more. Indeed God is All Knowing, All Powerful.

وَٱللَّهُ فَضَّلَ بَعْضَكُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ فِى ٱلرِّزْقِ فَمَا ٱلَّذِينَ فُضِّلُوا۟ بِرَآدِّى رِزْقِهِمْ عَلَىٰ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَـٰنُهُمْ فَهُمْ فِيهِ سَوَآءٌ أَفَبِنِعْمَةِ ٱللَّهِ يَجْحَدُونَ ٧١

[16:71] And God has preferred some of you over some others in provision. Then, do those who have received extra provision give it to the ones they are responsible for, to a point to make them equal to themselves? Are you still arguing about God's blessings?

وَٱللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ أَزْوَٰجًا وَجَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنْ أَزْوَٰجِكُم بَنِينَ وَحَفَدَةً وَرَزَقَكُم مِّنَ ٱلطَّيِّبَـٰتِ أَفَبِٱلْبَـٰطِلِ يُؤْمِنُونَ وَبِنِعْمَتِ ٱللَّهِ هُمْ يَكْفُرُونَ ٧٢

[16:72] And God made from amongst you spouses and made from your spouses sons and grand children and He provided for you from the pure things. Do you then believe in falsehood and disbelieve in God's blessings?

وَيَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا يَمْلِكُ لَهُمْ رِزْقًا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ شَيْـًٔا وَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ ٧٣

[16:73] And they worship besides God those who do not possess any provision for them in the vacua and matter and they have no power.

[16:74] And do not cite examples for God. Indeed God knows while you do not know.

ضَرَبَ ٱللَّهُ مَثَلًا عَبْدًا مَّمْلُوكًا لَّا يَقْدِرُ عَلَىٰ شَىْءٍ وَمَن رَّزَقْنَـٰهُ مِنَّا رِزْقًا حَسَنًا فَهُوَ يُنفِقُ مِنْهُ سِرًّا وَجَهْرًا هَلْ يَسْتَوُۥنَ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ ٧٥

[16:75] God cites the example of a servant who is owned, he has no ability to do anything, versus the one whom We provided good provision from Us, where he gives away secretly or publicly. Are they equal? Praise God. However, most of them do not know.

وَضَرَبَ ٱللَّهُ مَثَلًا رَّجُلَيْنِ أَحَدُهُمَآ أَبْكَمُ لَا يَقْدِرُ عَلَىٰ شَىْءٍ وَهُوَ كَلٌّ عَلَىٰ مَوْلَىٰهُ أَيْنَمَا يُوَجِّههُّ لَا يَأْتِ بِخَيْرٍ هَلْ يَسْتَوِى هُوَ وَمَن يَأْمُرُ بِٱلْعَدْلِ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ ٧٦

[16:76] And God cites the example of the two men, one of the two has no ability to do anything, and he leaves everything to his leader, wherever he takes him, he can produce nothing good. Is he equal to the one who commands justly and he is on the straight path?

وَلِلَّهِ غَيْبُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَآ أَمْرُ ٱلسَّاعَةِ إِلَّا كَلَمْحِ ٱلْبَصَرِ أَوْ هُوَ أَقْرَبُ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ ٧٧

[16:77] And to God belongs the secrets of the vacua and matter. As for the Hour, it is only a blink of an eye away or even closer. Indeed God is All Powerful over all things.

[16:78] And God brought you out of your mothers’ bellies not knowing a thing and He gave you the hearing, the eyesight and the minds that you may be appreciative.

أَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ إِلَى ٱلطَّيْرِ مُسَخَّرَٰتٍ فِى جَوِّ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَا يُمْسِكُهُنَّ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَـٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ ٧٩

[16:79] Do you not see the birds in full control in the atmosphere of the sky? No one holds them except God. Indeed in this there are proofs for people who have faith.

وَٱللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنۢ بُيُوتِكُمْ سَكَنًا وَجَعَلَ لَكُم مِّن جُلُودِ ٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِ بُيُوتًا تَسْتَخِفُّونَهَا يَوْمَ ظَعْنِكُمْ وَيَوْمَ إِقَامَتِكُمْ وَمِنْ أَصْوَافِهَا وَأَوْبَارِهَا وَأَشْعَارِهَآ أَثَـٰثًا وَمَتَـٰعًا إِلَىٰ حِينٍ ٨٠

[16:80] And God arranged your homes to be habitable and He made homes for you from the hides of your livestock that are light to carry during your travel as well as when you rest and from their wool and their furs and their hair, you make covers and they are sources of trade for a while.

وَٱللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّمَّا خَلَقَ ظِلَـٰلًا وَجَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْجِبَالِ أَكْنَـٰنًا وَجَعَلَ لَكُمْ سَرَٰبِيلَ تَقِيكُمُ ٱلْحَرَّ وَسَرَٰبِيلَ تَقِيكُم بَأْسَكُمْ كَذَٰلِكَ يُتِمُّ نِعْمَتَهُۥ عَلَيْكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُسْلِمُونَ ٨١

[16:81] And God arranged shades for you from His creation and arranged for you in the mountains hiding places and made for you clothing to protect you from the heat and clothing to protect you during the war. He thus perfected His blessings upon you that you may find peace.

[16:82] Therefore, if they turn away, then indeed you are not but to clearly deliver.

[16:83] They recognize God's blessings then they deny it and most of them are unfaithful.

وَيَوْمَ نَبْعَثُ مِن كُلِّ أُمَّةٍ شَهِيدًا ثُمَّ لَا يُؤْذَنُ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَلَا هُمْ يُسْتَعْتَبُونَ ٨٤

[16:84] And the day when We bring forth a witness from every community, those who have no faith will not be allowed to speak nor will they be excused.

وَإِذَا رَءَا ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ فَلَا يُخَفَّفُ عَنْهُمْ وَلَا هُمْ يُنظَرُونَ ٨٥

[16:85] And when those who have committed injustice see the suffering, it will then not be reduced for them and they will not have any reprieve.

وَإِذَا رَءَا ٱلَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوا۟ شُرَكَآءَهُمْ قَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَا هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ شُرَكَآؤُنَا ٱلَّذِينَ كُنَّا نَدْعُوا۟ مِن دُونِكَ فَأَلْقَوْا۟ إِلَيْهِمُ ٱلْقَوْلَ إِنَّكُمْ لَكَـٰذِبُونَ ٨٦

[16:86] And when those who set up partners for god come face to face with their partners, they say our Lord; these are our partners that we called upon besides You. Then they respond to them by saying; indeed you are liars.

وَأَلْقَوْا۟ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلسَّلَمَ وَضَلَّ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَ ٨٧

[16:87] And they offer God peace on that day, and it was their fabrication that caused them to go astray.

ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَصَدُّوا۟ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ زِدْنَـٰهُمْ عَذَابًا فَوْقَ ٱلْعَذَابِ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يُفْسِدُونَ ٨٨

[16:88] Those who have no faith and repelled from the path of God, We will double the suffering for them because of their corrupting ways.

وَيَوْمَ نَبْعَثُ فِى كُلِّ أُمَّةٍ شَهِيدًا عَلَيْهِم مِّنْ أَنفُسِهِمْ وَجِئْنَا بِكَ شَهِيدًا عَلَىٰ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ وَنَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ تِبْيَـٰنًا لِّكُلِّ شَىْءٍ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةً وَبُشْرَىٰ لِلْمُسْلِمِينَ ٨٩

[16:89] And the day when We bring forth a witness for every community from amongst themselves, and bring you forth as a witness against these people. And We revealed to you this scripture with the explanations for everything and guidance and a mercy, as well as good news for the peace offerors.

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَأْمُرُ بِٱلْعَدْلِ وَٱلْإِحْسَـٰنِ وَإِيتَآئِ ذِى ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ وَيَنْهَىٰ عَنِ ٱلْفَحْشَآءِ وَٱلْمُنكَرِ وَٱلْبَغْىِ يَعِظُكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ ٩٠

[16:90] Indeed God commands justice and righteousness and to give to the relatives and He forbids vice and evil and transgression. He is enlightening you that you may take heed.

وَأَوْفُوا۟ بِعَهْدِ ٱللَّهِ إِذَا عَـٰهَدتُّمْ وَلَا تَنقُضُوا۟ ٱلْأَيْمَـٰنَ بَعْدَ تَوْكِيدِهَا وَقَدْ جَعَلْتُمُ ٱللَّهَ عَلَيْكُمْ كَفِيلًا إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ ٩١

[16:91] And you shall fulfill your covenant to God once you make a covenant, and do not break your oath after you have solemnly taken one, for you have indeed made God a guarantor. Indeed God knows what you are doing.

وَلَا تَكُونُوا۟ كَٱلَّتِى نَقَضَتْ غَزْلَهَا مِنۢ بَعْدِ قُوَّةٍ أَنكَـٰثًا تَتَّخِذُونَ أَيْمَـٰنَكُمْ دَخَلًۢا بَيْنَكُمْ أَن تَكُونَ أُمَّةٌ هِىَ أَرْبَىٰ مِنْ أُمَّةٍ إِنَّمَا يَبْلُوكُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِهِۦ وَلَيُبَيِّنَنَّ لَكُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ مَا كُنتُمْ فِيهِ تَخْتَلِفُونَ ٩٢

[16:92] And do not be like the knitter who undoes her strong knitting into flimsy piles. Those who abuse their oath among themselves, do so because one group wants to take advantage of another group. Indeed God tests you therewith. And He will indeed clarify on the Day of Resurrection everything you disputed.

وَلَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ لَجَعَلَكُمْ أُمَّةً وَٰحِدَةً وَلَـٰكِن يُضِلُّ مَن يَشَآءُ وَيَهْدِى مَن يَشَآءُ وَلَتُسْـَٔلُنَّ عَمَّا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ ٩٣

[16:93] And had God willed He could have made you one single community, however, He misleads whomever He wills and guides whomever He wills. As for you, you will surely be questioned about everything you have done.

وَلَا تَتَّخِذُوٓا۟ أَيْمَـٰنَكُمْ دَخَلًۢا بَيْنَكُمْ فَتَزِلَّ قَدَمٌۢ بَعْدَ ثُبُوتِهَا وَتَذُوقُوا۟ ٱلسُّوٓءَ بِمَا صَدَدتُّمْ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَكُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ ٩٤

[16:94] And do not take your oaths lightly amongst yourselves, then your strong foothold will crumble and you will taste the evil of repelling from the path of God, and awaiting you will be a great suffering.

وَلَا تَشْتَرُوا۟ بِعَهْدِ ٱللَّهِ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا إِنَّمَا عِندَ ٱللَّهِ هُوَ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ ٩٥

[16:95] And do not trade God's covenant for a cheap material gain. Indeed what is reserved at God is far better for you, if you only knew.

مَا عِندَكُمْ يَنفَدُ وَمَا عِندَ ٱللَّهِ بَاقٍ وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ صَبَرُوٓا۟ أَجْرَهُم بِأَحْسَنِ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ ٩٦

[16:96] What is at your disposal perishes, and what is reserved at God lasts. And We will indeed reward those who persevered because of the good that they have done.

مَنْ عَمِلَ صَـٰلِحًا مِّن ذَكَرٍ أَوْ أُنثَىٰ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ فَلَنُحْيِيَنَّهُۥ حَيَوٰةً طَيِّبَةً وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّهُمْ أَجْرَهُم بِأَحْسَنِ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ ٩٧

[16:97] Whoever works righteousness, be it male or female, while faithful, then We will fulfill a life of goodness for them, and will give them their reward, because of the good that they have done.

فَإِذَا قَرَأْتَ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ فَٱسْتَعِذْ بِٱللَّهِ مِنَ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنِ ٱلرَّجِيمِ ٩٨

[16:98] Therefore, when you read the Quran, you shall seek refuge in God from Satan, the rejected.

إِنَّهُۥ لَيْسَ لَهُۥ سُلْطَـٰنٌ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ ٩٩

[16:99] Indeed he has no authority over those who have faith and put their trust in their Lord.

إِنَّمَا سُلْطَـٰنُهُۥ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ يَتَوَلَّوْنَهُۥ وَٱلَّذِينَ هُم بِهِۦ مُشْرِكُونَ ١٠٠

[16:100] Indeed his authority is only over those who take him as their lord and those who set up partners for Him.

وَإِذَا بَدَّلْنَآ ءَايَةً مَّكَانَ ءَايَةٍ وَٱللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يُنَزِّلُ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُفْتَرٍۭ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ ١٠١

[16:101] And when We replace a sign with another sign and God knows exactly what He has revealed, they said, you certainly fabricated this. However, most of them do not know.

قُلْ نَزَّلَهُۥ رُوحُ ٱلْقُدُسِ مِن رَّبِّكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ لِيُثَبِّتَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَهُدًى وَبُشْرَىٰ لِلْمُسْلِمِينَ ١٠٢

[16:102] Say, the Holy Spirit has revealed it from your Lord truthfully in order to strengthen those who have faith and it is guidance and good news for the peace offerors.

وَلَقَدْ نَعْلَمُ أَنَّهُمْ يَقُولُونَ إِنَّمَا يُعَلِّمُهُۥ بَشَرٌ لِّسَانُ ٱلَّذِى يُلْحِدُونَ إِلَيْهِ أَعْجَمِىٌّ وَهَـٰذَا لِسَانٌ عَرَبِىٌّ مُّبِينٌ ١٠٣

[16:103] And We indeed know when they say; surely a human being has taught him. The language of the one they are maliciously pointing to is non-Arabic while this is clear Arabic language.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِـَٔايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ لَا يَهْدِيهِمُ ٱللَّهُ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ ١٠٤

[16:104] Indeed those who do not believe in God's proofs, God will never guide them and reserved for them is a painful suffering.

إِنَّمَا يَفْتَرِى ٱلْكَذِبَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِـَٔايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْكَـٰذِبُونَ ١٠٥

[16:105] Indeed only those who do not believe in God's proofs fabricate lies, and they are always deceptive.

مَن كَفَرَ بِٱللَّهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ إِيمَـٰنِهِۦٓ إِلَّا مَنْ أُكْرِهَ وَقَلْبُهُۥ مُطْمَئِنٌّۢ بِٱلْإِيمَـٰنِ وَلَـٰكِن مَّن شَرَحَ بِٱلْكُفْرِ صَدْرًا فَعَلَيْهِمْ غَضَبٌ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ ١٠٦

[16:106] Those who disbelieve in God and their hearts are totally content with disbelief, except those who are forced while their hearts are sure with faith, then they will have anger from God and awaiting them is a tremendous suffering.

ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمُ ٱسْتَحَبُّوا۟ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا عَلَى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِى ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ ١٠٧

[16:107] This is because they indeed loved this worldly life instead of the Hereafter and God will surely not guide the disbelieving people.

أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ طَبَعَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ وَسَمْعِهِمْ وَأَبْصَـٰرِهِمْ وَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْغَـٰفِلُونَ ١٠٨

[16:108] These are the ones that God has sealed their hearts and their ears and their eyes, and they are completely unaware.

لَا جَرَمَ أَنَّهُمْ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ هُمُ ٱلْخَـٰسِرُونَ ١٠٩

[16:109] Without a doubt, they are indeed losers in the Hereafter.

ثُمَّ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لِلَّذِينَ هَاجَرُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا فُتِنُوا۟ ثُمَّ جَـٰهَدُوا۟ وَصَبَرُوٓا۟ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهَا لَغَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ ١١٠

[16:110] Afterwards, indeed your Lord is with those who emigrated after they were totally tested and strove and persevered, then your Lord is indeed All Forgiving, All Merciful.

يَوْمَ تَأْتِى كُلُّ نَفْسٍ تُجَـٰدِلُ عَن نَّفْسِهَا وَتُوَفَّىٰ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَّا عَمِلَتْ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ ١١١

[16:111] The day will come when every soul argues on behalf of her and every soul will be remitted for exactly what she did and no one will suffer any injustice.

وَضَرَبَ ٱللَّهُ مَثَلًا قَرْيَةً كَانَتْ ءَامِنَةً مُّطْمَئِنَّةً يَأْتِيهَا رِزْقُهَا رَغَدًا مِّن كُلِّ مَكَانٍ فَكَفَرَتْ بِأَنْعُمِ ٱللَّهِ فَأَذَٰقَهَا ٱللَّهُ لِبَاسَ ٱلْجُوعِ وَٱلْخَوْفِ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَصْنَعُونَ ١١٢

[16:112] And God cites the example of the town that was perfectly secure, its provisions were coming from every direction, then they became unappreciative of God's blessings, therefore, God gave them a taste of hunger and fear because of what they fabricated.

وَلَقَدْ جَآءَهُمْ رَسُولٌ مِّنْهُمْ فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ وَهُمْ ظَـٰلِمُونَ ١١٣

[16:113] And there indeed came a messenger from amongst them, but they rejected him, then the suffering overwhelmed them and they were unjust.

فَكُلُوا۟ مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ حَلَـٰلًا طَيِّبًا وَٱشْكُرُوا۟ نِعْمَتَ ٱللَّهِ إِن كُنتُمْ إِيَّاهُ تَعْبُدُونَ ١١٤

[16:114] Therefore, you shall eat from God's provision that is lawful and clean and be appreciative of God's blessings, if you worship Him alone.

إِنَّمَا حَرَّمَ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلْمَيْتَةَ وَٱلدَّمَ وَلَحْمَ ٱلْخِنزِيرِ وَمَآ أُهِلَّ لِغَيْرِ ٱللَّهِ بِهِۦ فَمَنِ ٱضْطُرَّ غَيْرَ بَاغٍ وَلَا عَادٍ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ ١١٥

[16:115] Indeed He has only prohibited for you the dead, the blood, the meat of the pig and whatever is dedicated to other than God. However, if someone is forced, without malice or deliberation, then God is All Forgiving, All Merciful.

وَلَا تَقُولُوا۟ لِمَا تَصِفُ أَلْسِنَتُكُمُ ٱلْكَذِبَ هَـٰذَا حَلَـٰلٌ وَهَـٰذَا حَرَامٌ لِّتَفْتَرُوا۟ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلْكَذِبَ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَفْتَرُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلْكَذِبَ لَا يُفْلِحُونَ ١١٦

[16:116] And do not utter with your own tongue, deceptively describing, this is lawful and this is unlawful, in order to attribute a lie to God. Indeed those who attribute lies to God never succeed.

مَتَـٰعٌ قَلِيلٌ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ ١١٧

[16:117] Small provision here and awaiting them is a painful suffering.

وَعَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ هَادُوا۟ حَرَّمْنَا مَا قَصَصْنَا عَلَيْكَ مِن قَبْلُ وَمَا ظَلَمْنَـٰهُمْ وَلَـٰكِن كَانُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ ١١٨

[16:118] As for those who were Judean, We prohibited what We narrated to you previously, however, We were not unjust towards them, but they were unjust towards themselves.

ثُمَّ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لِلَّذِينَ عَمِلُوا۟ ٱلسُّوٓءَ بِجَهَـٰلَةٍ ثُمَّ تَابُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ وَأَصْلَحُوٓا۟ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهَا لَغَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ ١١٩

[16:119] Afterwards, indeed your Lord is with those who committed evil work out of ignorance, then repent later and do righteous work, indeed your Lord is afterwards All Forgiving, All Merciful.

إِنَّ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ كَانَ أُمَّةً قَانِتًا لِّلَّهِ حَنِيفًا وَلَمْ يَكُ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ ١٢٠

[16:120] Indeed Abraham was of a creed, obedient to God, a monotheist and he was never one of those who set up partners for god.

شَاكِرًا لِّأَنْعُمِهِ ٱجْتَبَىٰهُ وَهَدَىٰهُ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ ١٢١

[16:121] He was appreciative of His blessings. He chose him and guided him to the right path.

وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَإِنَّهُۥ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ لَمِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ ١٢٢

[16:122] And We granted him goodness in this world and indeed in the Hereafter, he will be among the righteous.

ثُمَّ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْكَ أَنِ ٱتَّبِعْ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ حَنِيفًا وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ ١٢٣

[16:123] Then We inspired you to follow the Nation of Abraham, the monotheist, he was never one of those who set up partners for god.

إِنَّمَا جُعِلَ ٱلسَّبْتُ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ ٱخْتَلَفُوا۟ فِيهِ وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَيَحْكُمُ بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ فِيمَا كَانُوا۟ فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ ١٢٤

[16:124] Indeed the Sabbath was established for those who disputed it. And indeed your Lord will surely judge amongst them on the Day of Resurrection regarding their disputes.

ٱدْعُ إِلَىٰ سَبِيلِ رَبِّكَ بِٱلْحِكْمَةِ وَٱلْمَوْعِظَةِ ٱلْحَسَنَةِ وَجَـٰدِلْهُم بِٱلَّتِى هِىَ أَحْسَنُ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَن ضَلَّ عَن سَبِيلِهِۦ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِٱلْمُهْتَدِينَ ١٢٥

[16:125] Invite to the path of your Lord with wisdom and kind enlightenment, and debate them in the best possible manner. Indeed your Lord knows best who has strayed from His path and knows best about the guided ones.

وَإِنْ عَاقَبْتُمْ فَعَاقِبُوا۟ بِمِثْلِ مَا عُوقِبْتُم بِهِۦ وَلَئِن صَبَرْتُمْ لَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لِّلصَّـٰبِرِينَ ١٢٦

[16:126] And if you suffer, they suffer the same as you do, however, if you resort to patience, then it is the best for those who are patient.

وَٱصْبِرْ وَمَا صَبْرُكَ إِلَّا بِٱللَّهِ وَلَا تَحْزَنْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا تَكُ فِى ضَيْقٍ مِّمَّا يَمْكُرُونَ ١٢٧

[16:127] And you shall be patient and your patience is only achievable through reliance on God. And do not grieve over them and do not get angry over their schemes.

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَعَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوا۟ وَّٱلَّذِينَ هُم مُّحْسِنُونَ ١٢٨

[16:128] Indeed God is with those who are god-fearing and those who are do-gooders.
