Sura 3: Āl ʿImrān (The Amramites)

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

In the name of God, The All Gracious, The All Merciful

ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلْحَىُّ ٱلْقَيُّومُ ٢

[3:2] God, there is no god except He, The Living, The Self-Existing.

نَزَّلَ عَلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ بِٱلْحَقِّ مُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَأَنزَلَ ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةَ وَٱلْإِنجِيلَ ٣

[3:3] He revealed to you the scripture truthfully, confirming what you already uphold and He revealed the Torah and the Injeel–

مِن قَبْلُ هُدًى لِّلنَّاسِ وَأَنزَلَ ٱلْفُرْقَانَ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ شَدِيدٌ وَٱللَّهُ عَزِيزٌ ذُو ٱنتِقَامٍ ٤

[3:4] -previously as guidance for the people and He revealed the statute book. Surely for those who disbelieve in God's proofs is an ultimate suffering. And God is Almighty, Avenger.

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَخْفَىٰ عَلَيْهِ شَىْءٌ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ ٥

[3:5] Indeed nothing is hidden from God within matter or in the vacuum.

هُوَ ٱلَّذِى يُصَوِّرُكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْحَامِ كَيْفَ يَشَآءُ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ ٦

[3:6] He is the One who depicted you in the wombs, as He willed. There is no god except He, The Almighty, The All Wise.

هُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنزَلَ عَلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ مِنْهُ ءَايَـٰتٌ مُّحْكَمَـٰتٌ هُنَّ أُمُّ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ وَأُخَرُ مُتَشَـٰبِهَـٰتٌ فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ فِى قُلُوبِهِمْ زَيْغٌ فَيَتَّبِعُونَ مَا تَشَـٰبَهَ مِنْهُ ٱبْتِغَآءَ ٱلْفِتْنَةِ وَٱبْتِغَآءَ تَأْوِيلِهِۦ وَمَا يَعْلَمُ تَأْوِيلَهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ وَٱلرَّٰسِخُونَ فِى ٱلْعِلْمِ يَقُولُونَ ءَامَنَّا بِهِۦ كُلٌّ مِّنْ عِندِ رَبِّنَا وَمَا يَذَّكَّرُ إِلَّآ أُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلْأَلْبَـٰبِ ٧

[3:7] He is the One who revealed the scripture to you, part of it contains straightforward verses which are the essence of the book and others are allegorical. Consequently, those who have a disease in their hearts follow the allegorical parts, seeking disorder and they seek its explanation. And no one knows its explanation except God. Moreover, those who possess knowledge say, we believe in it, all of it is from our Lord. And no one takes heed except those who possess vision.

رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغْ قُلُوبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنَا وَهَبْ لَنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْوَهَّابُ ٨

[3:8] Our Lord, do not let our hearts waver after you have guided us, and grant us from your special place, mercy. Indeed you are The Grantor.

رَبَّنَآ إِنَّكَ جَامِعُ ٱلنَّاسِ لِيَوْمٍ لَّا رَيْبَ فِيهِ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُخْلِفُ ٱلْمِيعَادَ ٩

[3:9] Our Lord, indeed you are Gatherer of the people on the day about which there is no doubt. Surely, God does not break the promise.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَن تُغْنِىَ عَنْهُمْ أَمْوَٰلُهُمْ وَلَآ أَوْلَـٰدُهُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ شَيْـًٔا وَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمْ وَقُودُ ٱلنَّارِ ١٠

[3:10] Surely as for the unfaithful, their money and their children will have no value in the least at God. And they will be fuel for Hell-

كَدَأْبِ ءَالِ فِرْعَوْنَ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِذُنُوبِهِمْ وَٱللَّهُ شَدِيدُ ٱلْعِقَابِ ١١

[3:11] -like the people of Pharaoh and those before them. They rejected Our Signs; consequently, God punished them for their sins. And God is strict in enforcing retribution.

قُل لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ سَتُغْلَبُونَ وَتُحْشَرُونَ إِلَىٰ جَهَنَّمَ وَبِئْسَ ٱلْمِهَادُ ١٢

[3:12] Say to the unfaithful that they will be defeated and will be summoned to Gehenna. And what a miserable abode.

قَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ ءَايَةٌ فِى فِئَتَيْنِ ٱلْتَقَتَا فِئَةٌ تُقَـٰتِلُ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَأُخْرَىٰ كَافِرَةٌ يَرَوْنَهُم مِّثْلَيْهِمْ رَأْىَ ٱلْعَيْنِ وَٱللَّهُ يُؤَيِّدُ بِنَصْرِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَعِبْرَةً لِّأُو۟لِى ٱلْأَبْصَـٰرِ ١٣

[3:13] Indeed there is a sign in the two armies when they met. One army was fighting in the cause of God, while the other had no faith; they seemed twice as many in their eyes. And God helps with His victory whomever He wills. Indeed, in this, there is a lesson for those who possess vision.

زُيِّنَ لِلنَّاسِ حُبُّ ٱلشَّهَوَٰتِ مِنَ ٱلنِّسَآءِ وَٱلْبَنِينَ وَٱلْقَنَـٰطِيرِ ٱلْمُقَنطَرَةِ مِنَ ٱلذَّهَبِ وَٱلْفِضَّةِ وَٱلْخَيْلِ ٱلْمُسَوَّمَةِ وَٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِ وَٱلْحَرْثِ ذَٰلِكَ مَتَـٰعُ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱللَّهُ عِندَهُۥ حُسْنُ ٱلْمَـَٔابِ ١٤

[3:14] Adorned for the people is lustful love for women and sons, and piles upon piles of gold and silver and horses, livestock and crops. These are the enjoyment of this worldly life. And at God there is the best abode.

قُلْ أَؤُنَبِّئُكُم بِخَيْرٍ مِّن ذَٰلِكُمْ لِلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوْا۟ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ جَنَّـٰتٌ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ خَـٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا وَأَزْوَٰجٌ مُّطَهَّرَةٌ وَرِضْوَٰنٌ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَٱللَّهُ بَصِيرٌۢ بِٱلْعِبَادِ ١٥

[3:15] Say, shall I inform you of something better than these? For those who are reverent, at their Lord, there are paradises with flowing streams beneath them, they are to dwell therein eternally with pure spouses and approval from God. And God is All Seer over the servants.

ٱلَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَآ إِنَّنَآ ءَامَنَّا فَٱغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَقِنَا عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ ١٦

[3:16] These are the ones who say, our Lord, indeed we have faith, therefore, forgive our sins and spare us the agony of Hell.

ٱلصَّـٰبِرِينَ وَٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ وَٱلْقَـٰنِتِينَ وَٱلْمُنفِقِينَ وَٱلْمُسْتَغْفِرِينَ بِٱلْأَسْحَارِ ١٧

[3:17] These are the steadfast ones, the truthful ones, the obedient ones, the charitable ones, and seekers of forgiveness before dawn.

شَهِدَ ٱللَّهُ أَنَّهُۥ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ وَٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ وَأُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلْعِلْمِ قَآئِمًۢا بِٱلْقِسْطِ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ ١٨

[3:18] God testifies that indeed there is no god except He and so do the angels and those who possess knowledge; this is standing up for justice. There is no god except He, The Almighty, The All Wise.

إِنَّ ٱلدِّينَ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْإِسْلَـٰمُ وَمَا ٱخْتَلَفَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَهُمُ ٱلْعِلْمُ بَغْيًۢا بَيْنَهُمْ وَمَن يَكْفُرْ بِـَٔايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَرِيعُ ٱلْحِسَابِ ١٩

[3:19] Indeed the religion at God is Islam. And those who have received the scripture did not dispute, except after the knowledge came to them, due to jealousy on their part. As for those who disbelieved in God's Signs, then indeed God is quick in reckoning.

فَإِنْ حَآجُّوكَ فَقُلْ أَسْلَمْتُ وَجْهِىَ لِلَّهِ وَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَنِ وَقُل لِّلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ وَٱلْأُمِّيِّـۧنَ ءَأَسْلَمْتُمْ فَإِنْ أَسْلَمُوا۟ فَقَدِ ٱهْتَدَوا۟ وَّإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْبَلَـٰغُ وَٱللَّهُ بَصِيرٌۢ بِٱلْعِبَادِ ٢٠

[3:20] Therefore, if they argue with you, then say, I am at peace with God and so do those who follow me. Moreover, say to those who received the scripture as well as the laymen, will you attain peace? Then if they attain peace, they immediately are guided, and if they turn away, then indeed your only responsibility is to deliver. And God is All Seer of the servants.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَكْفُرُونَ بِـَٔايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَيَقْتُلُونَ ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ وَيَقْتُلُونَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَأْمُرُونَ بِٱلْقِسْطِ مِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ فَبَشِّرْهُم بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ ٢١

[3:21] Surely those who reject God's Signs and kill the prophets unjustly, and murder those people who advocate justice, then give them the news of a most painful suffering.

أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ حَبِطَتْ أَعْمَـٰلُهُمْ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن نَّـٰصِرِينَ ٢٢

[3:22] These are the ones who wasted their work in this world as well as in the Hereafter and there are no helpers for them.

أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ نَصِيبًا مِّنَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ يُدْعَوْنَ إِلَىٰ كِتَـٰبِ ٱللَّهِ لِيَحْكُمَ بَيْنَهُمْ ثُمَّ يَتَوَلَّىٰ فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُمْ وَهُم مُّعْرِضُونَ ٢٣

[3:23] Do you not see those who received part of the scripture and were invited to God's scripture to judge amongst them; then some of them turned away in aversion?

ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا۟ لَن تَمَسَّنَا ٱلنَّارُ إِلَّآ أَيَّامًا مَّعْدُودَٰتٍ وَغَرَّهُمْ فِى دِينِهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَ ٢٤

[3:24] This is because they used to say that Hell will not touch us except for a few days. And they were deceived by their religion and what they used to fabricate.

فَكَيْفَ إِذَا جَمَعْنَـٰهُمْ لِيَوْمٍ لَّا رَيْبَ فِيهِ وَوُفِّيَتْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَّا كَسَبَتْ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ ٢٥

[3:25] Then, how We gather them on the day wherein there is no doubt and every soul is repaid for what she has earned and no one suffers any injustice.

قُلِ ٱللَّهُمَّ مَـٰلِكَ ٱلْمُلْكِ تُؤْتِى ٱلْمُلْكَ مَن تَشَآءُ وَتَنزِعُ ٱلْمُلْكَ مِمَّن تَشَآءُ وَتُعِزُّ مَن تَشَآءُ وَتُذِلُّ مَن تَشَآءُ بِيَدِكَ ٱلْخَيْرُ إِنَّكَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ ٢٦

[3:26] Say, O god, Possessor of all kingships, You give kingship to whomever You will, and take away kingship from whomever You will, and You grant honor to whomever You will and bring humility to whomever You will. Goodness is in Your Hand. And indeed You are All Powerful over all things.

تُولِجُ ٱلَّيْلَ فِى ٱلنَّهَارِ وَتُولِجُ ٱلنَّهَارَ فِى ٱلَّيْلِ وَتُخْرِجُ ٱلْحَىَّ مِنَ ٱلْمَيِّتِ وَتُخْرِجُ ٱلْمَيِّتَ مِنَ ٱلْحَىِّ وَتَرْزُقُ مَن تَشَآءُ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ ٢٧

[3:27] You turn the night into the day and turn the day into the night. And You bring the living out of the dead and bring the dead out of the living. Moreover, You provide for whomever You will without limits.

لَّا يَتَّخِذِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ أَوْلِيَآءَ مِن دُونِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَمَن يَفْعَلْ ذَٰلِكَ فَلَيْسَ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ فِى شَىْءٍ إِلَّآ أَن تَتَّقُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ تُقَىٰةً وَيُحَذِّرُكُمُ ٱللَّهُ نَفْسَهُۥ وَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمَصِيرُ ٢٨

[3:28] The faithful never take the unfaithful as allies instead of the faithful. And whoever does this has nothing at God; exempted is the one who fears persecution. And God wants you to be mindful of Him. Moreover, the return is to God.

قُلْ إِن تُخْفُوا۟ مَا فِى صُدُورِكُمْ أَوْ تُبْدُوهُ يَعْلَمْهُ ٱللَّهُ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ ٢٩

[3:29] Say, if you hide what is in your chest or reveal it, God knows it. And He knows what is in the vacua and what is within matter. Moreover God is All Powerful over all things.

يَوْمَ تَجِدُ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَّا عَمِلَتْ مِنْ خَيْرٍ مُّحْضَرًا وَمَا عَمِلَتْ مِن سُوٓءٍ تَوَدُّ لَوْ أَنَّ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَهُۥٓ أَمَدًۢا بَعِيدًا وَيُحَذِّرُكُمُ ٱللَّهُ نَفْسَهُۥ وَٱللَّهُ رَءُوفٌۢ بِٱلْعِبَادِ ٣٠

[3:30] The day when every soul finds out what good she has done is readily presented to her, as well as what she has done that is evil, that which she would have liked to be as far away from her as possible. And God wants you to be mindful of Him. Furthermore, God is All Compassionate towards the servants.

قُلْ إِن كُنتُمْ تُحِبُّونَ ٱللَّهَ فَٱتَّبِعُونِى يُحْبِبْكُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ذُنُوبَكُمْ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ ٣١

[3:31] Say, if you love God then obey me, God will love you and forgive your sins. And God is All Forgiving, All Merciful.

قُلْ أَطِيعُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱلرَّسُولَ فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ ٣٢

[3:32] Say, obey God and the messenger. Thereafter, if you turn away, then God does not love the unfaithful.

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱصْطَفَىٰٓ ءَادَمَ وَنُوحًا وَءَالَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَءَالَ عِمْرَٰنَ عَلَى ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ٣٣

[3:33] Indeed God chose Adam, Noah and the family of Abraham and the Amramites over all the people--

ذُرِّيَّةًۢ بَعْضُهَا مِنۢ بَعْضٍ وَٱللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ ٣٤

[3:34] -generation after generation. And God is All Hearer, All Knower.

إِذْ قَالَتِ ٱمْرَأَتُ عِمْرَٰنَ رَبِّ إِنِّى نَذَرْتُ لَكَ مَا فِى بَطْنِى مُحَرَّرًا فَتَقَبَّلْ مِنِّىٓ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ ٣٥

[3:35] When the wife of Emran said, Lord, indeed I have dedicated to You what is in my belly, freely, therefore accept it from me. Indeed you are The All Hearer, The All Knowing.

فَلَمَّا وَضَعَتْهَا قَالَتْ رَبِّ إِنِّى وَضَعْتُهَآ أُنثَىٰ وَٱللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا وَضَعَتْ وَلَيْسَ ٱلذَّكَرُ كَٱلْأُنثَىٰ وَإِنِّى سَمَّيْتُهَا مَرْيَمَ وَإِنِّىٓ أُعِيذُهَا بِكَ وَذُرِّيَّتَهَا مِنَ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنِ ٱلرَّجِيمِ ٣٦

[3:36] Once she delivered her, she said indeed I have delivered a female, while God fully knew what she had delivered, and the male is not the same as the female. And I have named her Mary and indeed I seek refuge for her in You, as well as for her descendants, from Satan the rejected.

فَتَقَبَّلَهَا رَبُّهَا بِقَبُولٍ حَسَنٍ وَأَنۢبَتَهَا نَبَاتًا حَسَنًا وَكَفَّلَهَا زَكَرِيَّا كُلَّمَا دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا زَكَرِيَّا ٱلْمِحْرَابَ وَجَدَ عِندَهَا رِزْقًا قَالَ يَـٰمَرْيَمُ أَنَّىٰ لَكِ هَـٰذَا قَالَتْ هُوَ مِنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَرْزُقُ مَن يَشَآءُ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ ٣٧

[3:37] Hence, her Lord accepted her, a gracious acceptance and brought her up; a gracious upbringing and Zachariah became her guardian. Every time Zachariah entered her sanctuary, he found provisions for her. He said O Mary, how did you get this? She said; it is from God. Indeed, God provides for whomever He wills without limits.

هُنَالِكَ دَعَا زَكَرِيَّا رَبَّهُۥ قَالَ رَبِّ هَبْ لِى مِن لَّدُنكَ ذُرِّيَّةً طَيِّبَةً إِنَّكَ سَمِيعُ ٱلدُّعَآءِ ٣٨

[3:38] In there, Zachariah called upon his Lord. Lord, grant me from Your special place, a pure heir. Indeed You are All Hearer of the calling.

فَنَادَتْهُ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ وَهُوَ قَآئِمٌ يُصَلِّى فِى ٱلْمِحْرَابِ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُبَشِّرُكَ بِيَحْيَىٰ مُصَدِّقًۢا بِكَلِمَةٍ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَسَيِّدًا وَحَصُورًا وَنَبِيًّا مِّنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ ٣٩

[3:39] Then, the angels called him as he was standing to pray in the sanctuary, indeed God gives you the good news of John, an upholder of God's word, a gentleman, a person who controls his desires, and a righteous prophet.

قَالَ رَبِّ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِى غُلَـٰمٌ وَقَدْ بَلَغَنِىَ ٱلْكِبَرُ وَٱمْرَأَتِى عَاقِرٌ قَالَ كَذَٰلِكَ ٱللَّهُ يَفْعَلُ مَا يَشَآءُ ٤٠

[3:40] He said, Lord, how can I have a son as I am old and my wife is sterile? He said, thus God does what He wills.

قَالَ رَبِّ ٱجْعَل لِّىٓ ءَايَةً قَالَ ءَايَتُكَ أَلَّا تُكَلِّمَ ٱلنَّاسَ ثَلَـٰثَةَ أَيَّامٍ إِلَّا رَمْزًا وَٱذْكُر رَّبَّكَ كَثِيرًا وَسَبِّحْ بِٱلْعَشِىِّ وَٱلْإِبْكَـٰرِ ٤١

[3:41] He said, Lord, give me a sign. He said your sign is that you will not speak to people for three days, except by sign language. Furthermore, commemorate your Lord constantly and glorify night and day.

[3:42] And when the angels said, O Mary, indeed God has chosen you and has cleansed you, and He has chosen you over all the women in the world.

[3:44] These are the hidden news, We have inspired to you. And you were not present when they drew lots to see which one should be the guardian of Mary and you were not present when they argued.

[3:45] When the angels said, O Mary, God gives the good news of a word from Him whose name is the Healer, Jesus, son of Mary, distinguished in this world and one of the close ones in the Hereafter.

[3:46] Furthermore, he will speak to the people from the crib as well as when he is older and he will be one of the righteous ones.

[3:47] She said, Lord, how can I have a son when no man has touched me? He said thus God creates what He wills. Once He wills a matter, then, indeed He will say to it; "Be" and it is.

[3:49] And as a messenger to the Children of Israel, I am indeed coming to you with a Sign from your Lord. Indeed, I create for you from clay the shape of a bird, then I blow in it, thereafter, it becomes a bird by God's leave. And, I heal the blind and the leper and resurrect the dead by God's leave. And I inform you of what you have eaten and what you store in your homes. Indeed, in this, there is a Sign for you if you are faithful.

[3:50] Moreover, I uphold what you have from the Torah and I make lawful some of what was prohibited for yourselves. And I come to you with a Sign from your Lord, therefore, fear God and obey.

[3:52] Then, once Jesus felt disbelief on their part, he said, who are my supporters towards God? The disciples said we are God's supporters, we have faith in God and bear witness that we are indeed peace offerors.

[3:55] When God said; O Jesus, indeed I am terminating your life and raising you to Me and saving you from the unfaithful, and I will raise those who followed you over the unfaithful until the Day of Resurrection. Thereafter to Me, all of you will return and I will judge among you about everything you have disputed.

[3:56] As for the unfaithful, I will then punish them severely in this world as well as in the Hereafter and they will have no helpers.

[3:59] Surely, the example of Jesus as far as God is concerned is the same as Adam. He created him from clay then said to it, "Be" and so it became.

[3:61] Therefore, if they argue with you after what has come to you from knowledge, then say, let us call upon our sons and your sons and our women and your women, and ourselves and yourselves, then seek condemnation that God's curse shall be upon the liars.

[3:64] Say, O you people of the scripture, let us agree on a word, which is agreed upon among us and among you, that we do not worship except God and do not set up anything as a partner for Him, and we do not take each other as lords besides God. Thereafter if they turn away, you should say we bear witness that indeed we are peace offerors.

[3:65] O people of the scripture, why do you argue about Abraham, when the Torah and the Injeel were not even revealed except after him? Do you not think?

[3:66] Here you are arguing about something about which you are knowledgeable, but why do you argue about something which you do not have any knowledge? And God knows while you do not know.

[3:67] Abraham was neither Judean nor Nazarene but he was a monotheist, peace offeror and he was never one of those who set up partners for god.

[3:68] Indeed those people close to Abraham are those who have followed him and this prophet as well as those who attained faith and God is the ally of the faithful.

[3:69] Some of the people of the scripture would like to mislead you, however, they do not mislead anyone except themselves, but they do not perceive.

[3:71] O people of the scripture, why do you dress up the truth with falsehood and cover up the truth, while you know.

[3:72] And a group amongst the people of the scripture said; believe in what is revealed to those who attained faith today, and reject it later, maybe they would revert.

وَلَا تُؤْمِنُوٓا۟ إِلَّا لِمَن تَبِعَ دِينَكُمْ قُلْ إِنَّ ٱلْهُدَىٰ هُدَى ٱللَّهِ أَن يُؤْتَىٰٓ أَحَدٌ مِّثْلَ مَآ أُوتِيتُمْ أَوْ يُحَآجُّوكُمْ عِندَ رَبِّكُمْ قُلْ إِنَّ ٱلْفَضْلَ بِيَدِ ٱللَّهِ يُؤْتِيهِ مَن يَشَآءُ وَٱللَّهُ وَٰسِعٌ عَلِيمٌ ٧٣

[3:73] Moreover, they never attain faith, except for the one who follows your faith. Say, indeed the only guidance is God's guidance that He bestows upon a person, just like what you have been given or do you keep on arguing about your Lord? Say, the bounty is in God's hand; He bestows it to whomever He wills. Moreover, God is Expander, All Knowing.

[3:74] He reserves His Mercy for whomever He wills. And God is Possessor of infinite grace.

وَمِنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ مَنْ إِن تَأْمَنْهُ بِقِنطَارٍ يُؤَدِّهِۦٓ إِلَيْكَ وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ إِن تَأْمَنْهُ بِدِينَارٍ لَّا يُؤَدِّهِۦٓ إِلَيْكَ إِلَّا مَا دُمْتَ عَلَيْهِ قَآئِمًا ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا۟ لَيْسَ عَلَيْنَا فِى ٱلْأُمِّيِّـۧنَ سَبِيلٌ وَيَقُولُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلْكَذِبَ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ ٧٥

[3:75] And from the people of the scripture is the one that you can trust with loads of wealth, he will return it, and from them is the one whom you cannot trust with a single Dinar, he would not return it to you, unless you stand there guarding him. This is because, they indeed said, we do not have to deal with the laymen in the same way, and they utter a lie about God knowingly.

بَلَىٰ مَنْ أَوْفَىٰ بِعَهْدِهِۦ وَٱتَّقَىٰ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ ٧٦

[3:76] Yes, the one who is faithful to his promise and is reverent, then indeed God loves the reverent.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَشْتَرُونَ بِعَهْدِ ٱللَّهِ وَأَيْمَـٰنِهِمْ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ لَا خَلَـٰقَ لَهُمْ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَلَا يُكَلِّمُهُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَلَا يَنظُرُ إِلَيْهِمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ وَلَا يُزَكِّيهِمْ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ ٧٧

[3:77] Indeed those who sell God's covenant and their oaths for a cheap material gain, they will have no share in the Hereafter, and God will not speak to them nor will He look in their direction on the Day of Resurrection nor will He cleanse them and for them there is a painful suffering.

وَإِنَّ مِنْهُمْ لَفَرِيقًا يَلْوُۥنَ أَلْسِنَتَهُم بِٱلْكِتَـٰبِ لِتَحْسَبُوهُ مِنَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ وَمَا هُوَ مِنَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ وَيَقُولُونَ هُوَ مِنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ وَمَا هُوَ مِنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ وَيَقُولُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلْكَذِبَ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ ٧٨

[3:78] Moreover, indeed a group of them twist their tongue to make it sound like the scripture, in order to make you think that it is from the scripture, while it is not from the scripture and they will say it is from God while it is not from God and they say a lie about God while they know.

مَا كَانَ لِبَشَرٍ أَن يُؤْتِيَهُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ وَٱلْحُكْمَ وَٱلنُّبُوَّةَ ثُمَّ يَقُولَ لِلنَّاسِ كُونُوا۟ عِبَادًا لِّى مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَـٰكِن كُونُوا۟ رَبَّـٰنِيِّـۧنَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تُعَلِّمُونَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ وَبِمَا كُنتُمْ تَدْرُسُونَ ٧٩

[3:79] It is impossible for any human being whom God has given the scripture, wisdom and prophethood to say to people, be my worshipers instead of God's; he would instead say, be people of the Lord according to what you have been taught from the scripture and what you teach thereof.

[3:80] Nor would he command you to take angels and the prophets as lords. Would he command you to disbelieve after you have become peace offerors?

وَإِذْ أَخَذَ ٱللَّهُ مِيثَـٰقَ ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ لَمَآ ءَاتَيْتُكُم مِّن كِتَـٰبٍ وَحِكْمَةٍ ثُمَّ جَآءَكُمْ رَسُولٌ مُّصَدِّقٌ لِّمَا مَعَكُمْ لَتُؤْمِنُنَّ بِهِۦ وَلَتَنصُرُنَّهُۥ قَالَ ءَأَقْرَرْتُمْ وَأَخَذْتُمْ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكُمْ إِصْرِى قَالُوٓا۟ أَقْرَرْنَا قَالَ فَٱشْهَدُوا۟ وَأَنَا۠ مَعَكُم مِّنَ ٱلشَّـٰهِدِينَ ٨١

[3:81] And when God took a covenant from the prophets, that indeed I have given you scripture and wisdom, thereafter, a messenger will come to you upholding what you have, you shall believe in him and support him. He said, do you agree and make a solemn covenant? They said we agree. He said, therefore be witnesses and I am witnessing this along with you.

[3:82] Therefore, whoever rejects this, then, they are wicked.

[3:83] Are you seeking other than God's religion, when to Him offer peace everyone in the vacua and within matter willingly or unwillingly, and to Him they all will return?

[3:84] Say, we believe in God and what was revealed to us and what was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the tribes, and what was revealed to Moses, Jesus and the prophets from their Lord; we make no distinction among them and to Him we offer peace.

[3:85] Moreover, whoever takes other than peace offering as a religion, it will then not be accepted from him and he will end up a loser in the Hereafter.

[3:86] How should God guide a people who have disbelieved after attaining faith and have witnessed that the messenger is truthful, and they also received proofs? And God does not guide the people who are unjust.

[3:87] Their requital indeed is God's curse as well as that of the angels and all the people.

[3:89] Exempted are those who repent after this and become righteous, thereafter, indeed God is All Forgiving, All Merciful.

[3:90] Surely those who lose faith after attaining faith, then plunge deeper into disbelief, their repentance will not be accepted and they will be completely astray.

[3:91] Indeed those who have no faith, and die as unfaithful, then an Earth full of gold will not be accepted from them as ransom. They have deserved a painful suffering and they will have no helpers.

[3:92] You will not attain righteousness until you give from what you love. Moreover, whatever you spend, then God has full knowledge thereof.

[3:93] All the food was lawful for the Children of Israel, except what Israel prohibited for himself before the revelation of the Torah. Say, then bring the Torah and recite it if you are truthful.

[3:94] Therefore, whoever attributes a lie to God after this; then they are unjust.

فِيهِ ءَايَـٰتٌۢ بَيِّنَـٰتٌ مَّقَامُ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَمَن دَخَلَهُۥ كَانَ ءَامِنًا وَلِلَّهِ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ حِجُّ ٱلْبَيْتِ مَنِ ٱسْتَطَاعَ إِلَيْهِ سَبِيلًا وَمَن كَفَرَ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَنِىٌّ عَنِ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ٩٧

[3:97] In there are proven Signs, station of Abraham. And whoever enters therein, he will be secure. Moreover, the people who can afford it shall observe the Haj of the House for God. And whoever disbelieves; then God is in no need of anyone.

[3:98] Say, O people of the scripture, why do you disbelieve in God's proofs, when God is witnessing everything you do?

[3:99] Say, O people of the scripture, why do you repel the faithful from the path of God and seek to distort it while you are witnesses? And God is never unaware of anything you do.

[3:100] O you faithful, if you obey a group of those who have received the scripture, they will transform you, after attaining faith, into unfaithful.

[3:101] Moreover, how can you disbelieve, while you are being recited God's signs and the messenger is in your midst? And whoever holds on to God; then he is guided to the straight path.

[3:102] O you faithful, fear God as you truly should fear Him, and do not die except as peace offerors.

وَٱعْتَصِمُوا۟ بِحَبْلِ ٱللَّهِ جَمِيعًا وَلَا تَفَرَّقُوا۟ وَٱذْكُرُوا۟ نِعْمَتَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ إِذْ كُنتُمْ أَعْدَآءً فَأَلَّفَ بَيْنَ قُلُوبِكُمْ فَأَصْبَحْتُم بِنِعْمَتِهِۦٓ إِخْوَٰنًا وَكُنتُمْ عَلَىٰ شَفَا حُفْرَةٍ مِّنَ ٱلنَّارِ فَأَنقَذَكُم مِّنْهَا كَذَٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمْ ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ ١٠٣

[3:103] And hold fast to the rope of God, all of you, and do not be divided. And remember God's blessings upon you, once you were enemies, then He reconciled your hearts, then He showered you with His blessings and you became brothers, and you were at the edge of the pit of Hell; He then saved you therefrom. God thus explains His Signs for you that you may be guided.

وَلْتَكُن مِّنكُمْ أُمَّةٌ يَدْعُونَ إِلَى ٱلْخَيْرِ وَيَأْمُرُونَ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ ٱلْمُنكَرِ وَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ ١٠٤

[3:104] And let there be a community of you who invites to goodness and enjoins righteousness and forbids evil. And these are the winners.

[3:105] And do not be like those who were divided and disputed after all the proofs that came to them. And indeed awaiting them is a tremendous suffering.

يَوْمَ تَبْيَضُّ وُجُوهٌ وَتَسْوَدُّ وُجُوهٌ فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسْوَدَّتْ وُجُوهُهُمْ أَكَفَرْتُم بَعْدَ إِيمَـٰنِكُمْ فَذُوقُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ ١٠٦

[3:106] The day when faces are brightened and faces are darkened. As for those whose faces are darkened, they disbelieved after attaining faith, therefore, taste the suffering for your disbelief.

[3:107] And those whose faces are brightened, then they are in God's Mercy, and they abide therein forever.

[3:108] These are God's Signs We recite to you truthfully. Moreover, God does not wish injustice for the people.

[3:109] And to God belongs what is in the vacua and what is within matter. And to God is the destiny of all deeds.

كُنتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ تَأْمُرُونَ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ ٱلْمُنكَرِ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَلَوْ ءَامَنَ أَهْلُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَّهُم مِّنْهُمُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمُ ٱلْفَـٰسِقُونَ ١١٠

[3:110] You are the best community that mankind produced, enjoining righteousness and forbidding evil, while believing in God. And if the people of the scripture had believed it would have been better for them. Some of them are faithful; however, most of them are wicked.

لَن يَضُرُّوكُمْ إِلَّآ أَذًى وَإِن يُقَـٰتِلُوكُمْ يُوَلُّوكُمُ ٱلْأَدْبَارَ ثُمَّ لَا يُنصَرُونَ ١١١

[3:111] They cannot harm you except through torment. And if they fight you they turn around and flee, thereafter they will not be helped.

ضُرِبَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلذِّلَّةُ أَيْنَ مَا ثُقِفُوٓا۟ إِلَّا بِحَبْلٍ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَحَبْلٍ مِّنَ ٱلنَّاسِ وَبَآءُو بِغَضَبٍ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَضُرِبَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْمَسْكَنَةُ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ يَكْفُرُونَ بِـَٔايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَيَقْتُلُونَ ٱلْأَنۢبِيَآءَ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ ذَٰلِكَ بِمَا عَصَوا۟ وَّكَانُوا۟ يَعْتَدُونَ ١١٢

[3:112] Humiliation has befallen them wherever they are encountered, except by a support from God and a support from the people, furthermore, they have deserved anger from God and poverty has stricken them. This is because they used to disbelieve in God's Signs and killed the prophets unjustly. This is because they rebelled and used to transgress.

لَيْسُوا۟ سَوَآءً مِّنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ أُمَّةٌ قَآئِمَةٌ يَتْلُونَ ءَايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ ءَانَآءَ ٱلَّيْلِ وَهُمْ يَسْجُدُونَ ١١٣

[3:113] They are not all the same. There is a group of the people of the scripture standing up, reciting God's Signs during the night and they fall prostrate.

يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرِ وَيَأْمُرُونَ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ ٱلْمُنكَرِ وَيُسَـٰرِعُونَ فِى ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ وَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ ١١٤

[3:114] They believe in God and the Last Day, and enjoin righteousness and forbid evil and race towards goodness and these are amongst the righteous.

وَمَا يَفْعَلُوا۟ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَلَن يُكْفَرُوهُ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌۢ بِٱلْمُتَّقِينَ ١١٥

[3:115] Furthermore, whatever good they do, it will not be unappreciated. Moreover, God is All Knowing of those who are righteous.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَن تُغْنِىَ عَنْهُمْ أَمْوَٰلُهُمْ وَلَآ أَوْلَـٰدُهُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ شَيْـًٔا وَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَـٰلِدُونَ ١١٦

[3:116] Indeed as for the unfaithful, neither their money nor their children will protect them in the least from God. And they are dwellers of Hell. They will abide therein forever.

مَثَلُ مَا يُنفِقُونَ فِى هَـٰذِهِ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا كَمَثَلِ رِيحٍ فِيهَا صِرٌّ أَصَابَتْ حَرْثَ قَوْمٍ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ فَأَهْلَكَتْهُ وَمَا ظَلَمَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَلَـٰكِنْ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ ١١٧

[3:117] An example of their spending in this worldly life is like the example of a gusting wind hitting the crop of the people who are unjust toward their souls; then it wipes it out completely. Moreover, God was not unjust toward them, but they themselves were unjust.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَتَّخِذُوا۟ بِطَانَةً مِّن دُونِكُمْ لَا يَأْلُونَكُمْ خَبَالًا وَدُّوا۟ مَا عَنِتُّمْ قَدْ بَدَتِ ٱلْبَغْضَآءُ مِنْ أَفْوَٰهِهِمْ وَمَا تُخْفِى صُدُورُهُمْ أَكْبَرُ قَدْ بَيَّنَّا لَكُمُ ٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ ١١٨

[3:118] O you faithful do not take as trustee anyone besides yourselves; they never cease to wish you harm and love to see you burdened, hatred is obvious from their mouths and what is hidden in their chests is even worse. We thus explain Our Signs for you that you may understand.

هَـٰٓأَنتُمْ أُو۟لَآءِ تُحِبُّونَهُمْ وَلَا يُحِبُّونَكُمْ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْكِتَـٰبِ كُلِّهِۦ وَإِذَا لَقُوكُمْ قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا وَإِذَا خَلَوْا۟ عَضُّوا۟ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلْأَنَامِلَ مِنَ ٱلْغَيْظِ قُلْ مُوتُوا۟ بِغَيْظِكُمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِيمٌۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ ١١٩

[3:119] Here you love them, while they do not love you, and you believe in the scripture completely and when you meet them, they say we believe and when they are secluded, they bite their fingers from rage. Say, die with your rage. Indeed God is All Knower of the innermost thoughts.

إِن تَمْسَسْكُمْ حَسَنَةٌ تَسُؤْهُمْ وَإِن تُصِبْكُمْ سَيِّئَةٌ يَفْرَحُوا۟ بِهَا وَإِن تَصْبِرُوا۟ وَتَتَّقُوا۟ لَا يَضُرُّكُمْ كَيْدُهُمْ شَيْـًٔا إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ مُحِيطٌ ١٢٠

[3:120] If something good happens to you, they dislike it and if something bad happens to you, they rejoice because of it. And if you are patient and maintain reverence, their scheming will not harm you in the least. Indeed God is encompassing everything they do.

وَإِذْ غَدَوْتَ مِنْ أَهْلِكَ تُبَوِّئُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ مَقَـٰعِدَ لِلْقِتَالِ وَٱللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ ١٢١

[3:121] And you left your family in the morning to assign positions for the faithful to prepare for battle. And God was All Hearing, All Knowing.

إِذْ هَمَّت طَّآئِفَتَانِ مِنكُمْ أَن تَفْشَلَا وَٱللَّهُ وَلِيُّهُمَا وَعَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ ١٢٢

[3:122] When two groups among you tried, they were almost defeated; however, God was their ally. Moreover, in God the faithful shall trust.

وَلَقَدْ نَصَرَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِبَدْرٍ وَأَنتُمْ أَذِلَّةٌ فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ ١٢٣

[3:123] And indeed God supported you at Badr, while you were weak. Therefore, you shall fear God that you may become grateful.

إِذْ تَقُولُ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَلَن يَكْفِيَكُمْ أَن يُمِدَّكُمْ رَبُّكُم بِثَلَـٰثَةِ ءَالَـٰفٍ مِّنَ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ مُنزَلِينَ ١٢٤

[3:124] When you told the faithful, is it not enough for you that your Lord is helping you with three thousand descending angels?

بَلَىٰٓ إِن تَصْبِرُوا۟ وَتَتَّقُوا۟ وَيَأْتُوكُم مِّن فَوْرِهِمْ هَـٰذَا يُمْدِدْكُمْ رَبُّكُم بِخَمْسَةِ ءَالَـٰفٍ مِّنَ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ مُسَوِّمِينَ ١٢٥

[3:125] Yes indeed. If you are patient and reverent, and they come to you in a blitz, in this case, your Lord will support you with five thousand angels, fully trained.

وَمَا جَعَلَهُ ٱللَّهُ إِلَّا بُشْرَىٰ لَكُمْ وَلِتَطْمَئِنَّ قُلُوبُكُم بِهِۦ وَمَا ٱلنَّصْرُ إِلَّا مِنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْحَكِيمِ ١٢٦

[3:126] Furthermore, God did not arrange this except as good news for you, and in order to reassure your hearts with it. Moreover, there is no help except from God, the Almighty, the All Wise.

لِيَقْطَعَ طَرَفًا مِّنَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ أَوْ يَكْبِتَهُمْ فَيَنقَلِبُوا۟ خَآئِبِينَ ١٢٧

[3:127] This is to frustrate some of those who have lost faith or to humiliate them; so that they turn despondent.

لَيْسَ لَكَ مِنَ ٱلْأَمْرِ شَىْءٌ أَوْ يَتُوبَ عَلَيْهِمْ أَوْ يُعَذِّبَهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ ظَـٰلِمُونَ ١٢٨

[3:128] It is not your task in the least; He may redeem them or punish them if they are unjust.

وَلِلَّهِ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ يَغْفِرُ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَيُعَذِّبُ مَن يَشَآءُ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ ١٢٩

[3:129] Furthermore, to God belong everything in the vacua and everything within matter. He forgives whomever He wills and punishes whomever He wills. And God is All Forgiving, All Merciful.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَأْكُلُوا۟ ٱلرِّبَوٰٓا۟ أَضْعَـٰفًا مُّضَـٰعَفَةً وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ ١٣٠

[3:130] O you faithful do not eat from interest compounded over and over. And fear God that you may succeed.

[3:131] And fear Hell that has been promised to the unfaithful.

[3:132] And you shall obey God and the messenger that you may attain mercy.

وَسَارِعُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ مَغْفِرَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَجَنَّةٍ عَرْضُهَا ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ أُعِدَّتْ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ ١٣٣

[3:133] And race towards forgiveness from your Lord and a heaven as large as the vacua and matter, which is promised to the righteous.

ٱلَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ فِى ٱلسَّرَّآءِ وَٱلضَّرَّآءِ وَٱلْكَـٰظِمِينَ ٱلْغَيْظَ وَٱلْعَافِينَ عَنِ ٱلنَّاسِ وَٱللَّهُ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ ١٣٤

[3:134] Those who give during prosperity as well as hardship and are in control of their anger and pardoners of people. And God loves the do-gooders.

وَٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا فَعَلُوا۟ فَـٰحِشَةً أَوْ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ ذَكَرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ فَٱسْتَغْفَرُوا۟ لِذُنُوبِهِمْ وَمَن يَغْفِرُ ٱلذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ وَلَمْ يُصِرُّوا۟ عَلَىٰ مَا فَعَلُوا۟ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ ١٣٥

[3:135] And those whom when they commit an abomination or wrong their souls, they remember God then they ask forgiveness for their sins and who could forgive sins except God, and they do not insist on what they did and they know.

أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ جَزَآؤُهُم مَّغْفِرَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ وَجَنَّـٰتٌ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ خَـٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا وَنِعْمَ أَجْرُ ٱلْعَـٰمِلِينَ ١٣٦

[3:136] These are the ones whom their reward is forgiveness from their Lord, as well as paradises with flowing streams beneath them; they abide therein forever. And a blessed reward for the workers.

قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ سُنَنٌ فَسِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَٱنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ١٣٧

[3:137] Generations before you have passed on, therefore, roam the land and see the aftermath of the rejecters.

هَـٰذَا بَيَانٌ لِّلنَّاسِ وَهُدًى وَمَوْعِظَةٌ لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ ١٣٨

[3:138] This is clarification for the people as well as guidance and enlightenment for the righteous.

وَلَا تَهِنُوا۟ وَلَا تَحْزَنُوا۟ وَأَنتُمُ ٱلْأَعْلَوْنَ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ ١٣٩

[3:139] And do not waver and do not be saddened, for you are superior once you attain faith.

إِن يَمْسَسْكُمْ قَرْحٌ فَقَدْ مَسَّ ٱلْقَوْمَ قَرْحٌ مِّثْلُهُۥ وَتِلْكَ ٱلْأَيَّامُ نُدَاوِلُهَا بَيْنَ ٱلنَّاسِ وَلِيَعْلَمَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَيَتَّخِذَ مِنكُمْ شُهَدَآءَ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ ١٤٠

[3:140] If you are afflicted with an injury, then the other people also suffer injury just like it. Furthermore, these are the days We alternate among people in order for God to distinguish the faithful and to take from them witnesses. Moreover, God does not love the unjust.

وَلِيُمَحِّصَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَيَمْحَقَ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ ١٤١

[3:141] And God thus purifies the faithful, and annihilates the unfaithful.

أَمْ حَسِبْتُمْ أَن تَدْخُلُوا۟ ٱلْجَنَّةَ وَلَمَّا يَعْلَمِ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ جَـٰهَدُوا۟ مِنكُمْ وَيَعْلَمَ ٱلصَّـٰبِرِينَ ١٤٢

[3:142] Do you expect to enter paradise without God distinguishing those who strive among you as well as those who steadfastly persevere?

وَلَقَدْ كُنتُمْ تَمَنَّوْنَ ٱلْمَوْتَ مِن قَبْلِ أَن تَلْقَوْهُ فَقَدْ رَأَيْتُمُوهُ وَأَنتُمْ تَنظُرُونَ ١٤٣

[3:143] You have longed for death before you met it, now you are facing it and it is right before your eyes.

وَمَا مُحَمَّدٌ إِلَّا رَسُولٌ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِهِ ٱلرُّسُلُ أَفَإِي۟ن مَّاتَ أَوْ قُتِلَ ٱنقَلَبْتُمْ عَلَىٰٓ أَعْقَـٰبِكُمْ وَمَن يَنقَلِبْ عَلَىٰ عَقِبَيْهِ فَلَن يَضُرَّ ٱللَّهَ شَيْـًٔا وَسَيَجْزِى ٱللَّهُ ٱلشَّـٰكِرِينَ ١٤٤

[3:144] Furthermore, Muhammad was no more than a messenger like messengers before him who have passed on. If he dies or gets killed, would you then turn on your heels and flee? And whoever turns on his heels and flees will not harm God in the least. And God rewards those who are grateful.

وَمَا كَانَ لِنَفْسٍ أَن تَمُوتَ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ كِتَـٰبًا مُّؤَجَّلًا وَمَن يُرِدْ ثَوَابَ ٱلدُّنْيَا نُؤْتِهِۦ مِنْهَا وَمَن يُرِدْ ثَوَابَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ نُؤْتِهِۦ مِنْهَا وَسَنَجْزِى ٱلشَّـٰكِرِينَ ١٤٥

[3:145] And no soul dies except with God's permission according to a specific recorded time. Furthermore, whoever wishes the reward of this world, We will give him therefrom and whoever wishes the reward of the Hereafter, We will give him therefrom. And We thus reward those who are grateful.

وَكَأَيِّن مِّن نَّبِىٍّ قَـٰتَلَ مَعَهُۥ رِبِّيُّونَ كَثِيرٌ فَمَا وَهَنُوا۟ لِمَآ أَصَابَهُمْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَمَا ضَعُفُوا۟ وَمَا ٱسْتَكَانُوا۟ وَٱللَّهُ يُحِبُّ ٱلصَّـٰبِرِينَ ١٤٦

[3:146] And many prophets fought alongside many godly people in the cause of God; they were not burdened by what afflicted them, nor were they weak nor did they give up. Moreover God loves the patient.

وَمَا كَانَ قَوْلَهُمْ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَا ٱغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَإِسْرَافَنَا فِىٓ أَمْرِنَا وَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا وَٱنصُرْنَا عَلَى ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ ١٤٧

[3:147] And their only utterance was to say, our Lord forgive us our sins and our radical behaviors, and strengthen our foothold and grant us victory over the disbelieving people.

فَـَٔاتَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ ثَوَابَ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَحُسْنَ ثَوَابِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَٱللَّهُ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ ١٤٨

[3:148] Therefore, God granted them the reward of this world as well as the beautiful reward of the Hereafter. Moreover, God loves the do-gooders.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِن تُطِيعُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ يَرُدُّوكُمْ عَلَىٰٓ أَعْقَـٰبِكُمْ فَتَنقَلِبُوا۟ خَـٰسِرِينَ ١٤٩

[3:149] O you faithful, if you obey the unfaithful, they will turn you back on your heels and you will end up losers.

بَلِ ٱللَّهُ مَوْلَىٰكُمْ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ ٱلنَّـٰصِرِينَ ١٥٠

[3:150] On the other hand, God is your master. And He is the best supporter.

سَنُلْقِى فِى قُلُوبِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ ٱلرُّعْبَ بِمَآ أَشْرَكُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ مَا لَمْ يُنَزِّلْ بِهِۦ سُلْطَـٰنًا وَمَأْوَىٰهُمُ ٱلنَّارُ وَبِئْسَ مَثْوَى ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ ١٥١

[3:151] We will soon throw terror into the hearts of the unfaithful because of what they have set up as partners for God without any authorization, and their abode is Hell. And what a miserable abode for the unjust.

وَلَقَدْ صَدَقَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَعْدَهُۥٓ إِذْ تَحُسُّونَهُم بِإِذْنِهِۦ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا فَشِلْتُمْ وَتَنَـٰزَعْتُمْ فِى ٱلْأَمْرِ وَعَصَيْتُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ مَآ أَرَىٰكُم مَّا تُحِبُّونَ مِنكُم مَّن يُرِيدُ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَمِنكُم مَّن يُرِيدُ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَ ثُمَّ صَرَفَكُمْ عَنْهُمْ لِيَبْتَلِيَكُمْ وَلَقَدْ عَفَا عَنكُمْ وَٱللَّهُ ذُو فَضْلٍ عَلَى ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ١٥٢

[3:152] Furthermore, God has indeed fulfilled His promise, that you defeat them by His leave, however, you showed weakness and argued about matters, and rebelled in spite of seeing what was to your liking. Among you are those who like this world and among you are those who like the Hereafter. He diverted you from them in order to test you. And indeed He has pardoned you. Moreover, God possesses bounty for the faithful.

إِذْ تُصْعِدُونَ وَلَا تَلْوُۥنَ عَلَىٰٓ أَحَدٍ وَٱلرَّسُولُ يَدْعُوكُمْ فِىٓ أُخْرَىٰكُمْ فَأَثَـٰبَكُمْ غَمًّۢا بِغَمٍّ لِّكَيْلَا تَحْزَنُوا۟ عَلَىٰ مَا فَاتَكُمْ وَلَا مَآ أَصَـٰبَكُمْ وَٱللَّهُ خَبِيرٌۢ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ ١٥٣

[3:153] When you fled and paid no attention to anyone, even as the messenger called after you, therefore, He afflicted you with sorrow; sorrow which was worse than your grief over death or what afflicted you before. And God is All Cognizant of what you do.

ثُمَّ أَنزَلَ عَلَيْكُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ ٱلْغَمِّ أَمَنَةً نُّعَاسًا يَغْشَىٰ طَآئِفَةً مِّنكُمْ وَطَآئِفَةٌ قَدْ أَهَمَّتْهُمْ أَنفُسُهُمْ يَظُنُّونَ بِٱللَّهِ غَيْرَ ٱلْحَقِّ ظَنَّ ٱلْجَـٰهِلِيَّةِ يَقُولُونَ هَل لَّنَا مِنَ ٱلْأَمْرِ مِن شَىْءٍ قُلْ إِنَّ ٱلْأَمْرَ كُلَّهُۥ لِلَّهِ يُخْفُونَ فِىٓ أَنفُسِهِم مَّا لَا يُبْدُونَ لَكَ يَقُولُونَ لَوْ كَانَ لَنَا مِنَ ٱلْأَمْرِ شَىْءٌ مَّا قُتِلْنَا هَـٰهُنَا قُل لَّوْ كُنتُمْ فِى بُيُوتِكُمْ لَبَرَزَ ٱلَّذِينَ كُتِبَ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْقَتْلُ إِلَىٰ مَضَاجِعِهِمْ وَلِيَبْتَلِىَ ٱللَّهُ مَا فِى صُدُورِكُمْ وَلِيُمَحِّصَ مَا فِى قُلُوبِكُمْ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ ١٥٤

[3:154] Afterwards, He sent down to you bliss following sorrow in order to give a group of you tranquility. While another group gave priority to themselves and harbored untrue thoughts about God; thoughts of ignorance. They said, do we have control of anything? Say, indeed, all things are controlled by God. They hide in themselves what they do not reveal to you. They say if we were in control of anything, we would have not gotten killed here. Say, even if you were in your homes, indeed, those who are preordained to get killed, would have gotten killed in their beds. And God thus tests what is inside your chests and in order to expose what is in your hearts. And God is All Knowing of the innermost thoughts.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ تَوَلَّوْا۟ مِنكُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْتَقَى ٱلْجَمْعَانِ إِنَّمَا ٱسْتَزَلَّهُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ بِبَعْضِ مَا كَسَبُوا۟ وَلَقَدْ عَفَا ٱللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌ حَلِيمٌ ١٥٥

[3:155] Indeed those among you who turned back and fled, the day the two armies met, Satan has duped them because of what they earned. However, God has pardoned them. Indeed God is All Forgiving, Clement.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَكُونُوا۟ كَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَقَالُوا۟ لِإِخْوَٰنِهِمْ إِذَا ضَرَبُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ أَوْ كَانُوا۟ غُزًّى لَّوْ كَانُوا۟ عِندَنَا مَا مَاتُوا۟ وَمَا قُتِلُوا۟ لِيَجْعَلَ ٱللَّهُ ذَٰلِكَ حَسْرَةً فِى قُلُوبِهِمْ وَٱللَّهُ يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ ١٥٦

[3:156] O you faithful, do not be like the unfaithful who said to their brethren when they traveled or fought, had they stayed with us they would not have died or gotten killed; God thus turns this into sorrow in their hearts. Furthermore, God grants life and death. And God is All Seer of what they do.

وَلَئِن قُتِلْتُمْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ أَوْ مُتُّمْ لَمَغْفِرَةٌ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرَحْمَةٌ خَيْرٌ مِّمَّا يَجْمَعُونَ ١٥٧

[3:157] And if you get killed in the cause of God or die, indeed it is forgiveness from God and a mercy better than whatever you collect.

وَلَئِن مُّتُّمْ أَوْ قُتِلْتُمْ لَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ تُحْشَرُونَ ١٥٨

[3:158] And if you die or get killed, indeed to God will be your exodus.

فَبِمَا رَحْمَةٍ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ لِنتَ لَهُمْ وَلَوْ كُنتَ فَظًّا غَلِيظَ ٱلْقَلْبِ لَٱنفَضُّوا۟ مِنْ حَوْلِكَ فَٱعْفُ عَنْهُمْ وَٱسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ وَشَاوِرْهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَمْرِ فَإِذَا عَزَمْتَ فَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُتَوَكِّلِينَ ١٥٩

[3:159] Afterwards, with mercy from God, you treated them nicely. And if you were short-tempered and mean-hearted, they would have left your side. Therefore, pardon them and ask forgiveness on their behalf and consult them about matters. Once you made up your mind, then put your trust in God. Surely, God loves those who are trusting.

إِن يَنصُرْكُمُ ٱللَّهُ فَلَا غَالِبَ لَكُمْ وَإِن يَخْذُلْكُمْ فَمَن ذَا ٱلَّذِى يَنصُرُكُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ وَعَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ ١٦٠

[3:160] If God helps you, no one can overcome you. And if He abandons you, then who can help you after Him? Moreover, in God the faithful shall trust.

وَمَا كَانَ لِنَبِىٍّ أَن يَغُلَّ وَمَن يَغْلُلْ يَأْتِ بِمَا غَلَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ ثُمَّ تُوَفَّىٰ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَّا كَسَبَتْ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ ١٦١

[3:161] No prophet has ever embezzled. If any one embezzles, the embezzlement will face him on the Day of Resurrection. Afterwards, every soul will be repaid for his earnings, and will not suffer any injustice.

[3:162] Is the one who has sought God's approval the same as the one who has deserved indignation from God, and his abode is Gehenna? And what a miserable destiny.

[3:163] They occupy different ranks at God and God is All Seer of what they do.

لَقَدْ مَنَّ ٱللَّهُ عَلَى ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِذْ بَعَثَ فِيهِمْ رَسُولًا مِّنْ أَنفُسِهِمْ يَتْلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ وَيُزَكِّيهِمْ وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ وَٱلْحِكْمَةَ وَإِن كَانُوا۟ مِن قَبْلُ لَفِى ضَلَـٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ ١٦٤

[3:164] Indeed, God has done the faithful a favor when He appointed a messenger from among them to recite to them His Signs and cleanse them, and to teach them the scripture and wisdom, for they were in manifest straying before this.

أَوَلَمَّآ أَصَـٰبَتْكُم مُّصِيبَةٌ قَدْ أَصَبْتُم مِّثْلَيْهَا قُلْتُمْ أَنَّىٰ هَـٰذَا قُلْ هُوَ مِنْ عِندِ أَنفُسِكُمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ ١٦٥

[3:165] Yet, when you suffer any hardship, in spite of the fact you afflicted twice as much, you said; where did this come from? Say, this is a consequence of your own doing. Indeed God is All Powerful over all things.

وَمَآ أَصَـٰبَكُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْتَقَى ٱلْجَمْعَانِ فَبِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ وَلِيَعْلَمَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ١٦٦

[3:166] And what afflicted you on the day the two armies met was by God's permission and in order to distinguish the faithful,-

وَلِيَعْلَمَ ٱلَّذِينَ نَافَقُوا۟ وَقِيلَ لَهُمْ تَعَالَوْا۟ قَـٰتِلُوا۟ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ أَوِ ٱدْفَعُوا۟ قَالُوا۟ لَوْ نَعْلَمُ قِتَالًا لَّٱتَّبَعْنَـٰكُمْ هُمْ لِلْكُفْرِ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَقْرَبُ مِنْهُمْ لِلْإِيمَـٰنِ يَقُولُونَ بِأَفْوَٰهِهِم مَّا لَيْسَ فِى قُلُوبِهِمْ وَٱللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَكْتُمُونَ ١٦٧

[3:167] -and to distinguish those who resorted to hypocrisy. And they were told, come and fight in the cause of God or defend. They said if we knew how to fight, we would have followed you. They were closer to disbelief on that day than belief. They say with their mouths what is not in their hearts. However, God knows well what they conceal.

ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوا۟ لِإِخْوَٰنِهِمْ وَقَعَدُوا۟ لَوْ أَطَاعُونَا مَا قُتِلُوا۟ قُلْ فَٱدْرَءُوا۟ عَنْ أَنفُسِكُمُ ٱلْمَوْتَ إِن كُنتُمْ صَـٰدِقِينَ ١٦٨

[3:168] These are the ones who told their brethren, as they stayed behind, had they obeyed us they would not have gotten killed. Say; then repel death from yourselves if you are truthful.

وَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ قُتِلُوا۟ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ أَمْوَٰتًۢا بَلْ أَحْيَآءٌ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ يُرْزَقُونَ ١٦٩

[3:169] And do not reckon that those who get killed in the cause of God are dead. They are indeed alive at their Lord, and being provided for.

فَرِحِينَ بِمَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ مِن فَضْلِهِۦ وَيَسْتَبْشِرُونَ بِٱلَّذِينَ لَمْ يَلْحَقُوا۟ بِهِم مِّنْ خَلْفِهِمْ أَلَّا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ ١٧٠

[3:170] They rejoice in what God has given them from His bounty; and they will have the good news about those who did not join them, that they also have nothing to fear nor will they grieve.

يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ بِنِعْمَةٍ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَفَضْلٍ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُضِيعُ أَجْرَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ١٧١

[3:171] They enjoy a blessing from God and a bounty, and indeed God does not diminish the reward for the faithful.

ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسْتَجَابُوا۟ لِلَّهِ وَٱلرَّسُولِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَآ أَصَابَهُمُ ٱلْقَرْحُ لِلَّذِينَ أَحْسَنُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ وَٱتَّقَوْا۟ أَجْرٌ عَظِيمٌ ١٧٢

[3:172] These are the ones who responded to God and the messenger after they suffered an injury. For those who did well among them and were righteous, there is a great recompense.

ٱلَّذِينَ قَالَ لَهُمُ ٱلنَّاسُ إِنَّ ٱلنَّاسَ قَدْ جَمَعُوا۟ لَكُمْ فَٱخْشَوْهُمْ فَزَادَهُمْ إِيمَـٰنًا وَقَالُوا۟ حَسْبُنَا ٱللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ ٱلْوَكِيلُ ١٧٣

[3:173] These are the ones whom were told by people that indeed people have mobilized against you, therefore, you shall fear them, but this only increased their faith, and they said our reckoning is with God and He is the best advocate.

فَٱنقَلَبُوا۟ بِنِعْمَةٍ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَفَضْلٍ لَّمْ يَمْسَسْهُمْ سُوٓءٌ وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ رِضْوَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ وَٱللَّهُ ذُو فَضْلٍ عَظِيمٍ ١٧٤

[3:174] Then they are showered with a blessing from God and a bounty, evil will not touch them and they seek God's approval. And God is Possessor of infinite bounty.

إِنَّمَا ذَٰلِكُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ يُخَوِّفُ أَوْلِيَآءَهُۥ فَلَا تَخَافُوهُمْ وَخَافُونِ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ ١٧٥

[3:175] Indeed, Satan frightens his allies, therefore, do not fear them and stay vigilant, if you are faithful.

وَلَا يَحْزُنكَ ٱلَّذِينَ يُسَـٰرِعُونَ فِى ٱلْكُفْرِ إِنَّهُمْ لَن يَضُرُّوا۟ ٱللَّهَ شَيْـًٔا يُرِيدُ ٱللَّهُ أَلَّا يَجْعَلَ لَهُمْ حَظًّا فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ ١٧٦

[3:176] And do not grieve over those who race towards disbelief. Indeed they do not harm God in the least. God has willed that they do not have any enjoyment in the Hereafter. And for them, there is a tremendous suffering.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱشْتَرَوُا۟ ٱلْكُفْرَ بِٱلْإِيمَـٰنِ لَن يَضُرُّوا۟ ٱللَّهَ شَيْـًٔا وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ ١٧٧

[3:177] Indeed those who have bought disbelief with belief, do not harm God in the least and awaiting them is a painful suffering.

[3:178] And the unfaithful should not think Our respite is good for them. Indeed, Our respite only augments their sinfulness. Moreover, for them there is a humiliating suffering.

مَّا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ لِيَذَرَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَلَىٰ مَآ أَنتُمْ عَلَيْهِ حَتَّىٰ يَمِيزَ ٱلْخَبِيثَ مِنَ ٱلطَّيِّبِ وَمَا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ لِيُطْلِعَكُمْ عَلَى ٱلْغَيْبِ وَلَـٰكِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَجْتَبِى مِن رُّسُلِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُ فَـَٔامِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِۦ وَإِن تُؤْمِنُوا۟ وَتَتَّقُوا۟ فَلَكُمْ أَجْرٌ عَظِيمٌ ١٧٩

[3:179] God will never leave the faithful alone to themselves until He distinguishes the evil from the pure. Furthermore, God will not inform you about the unseen, however, God chooses from His messengers, whomever He wills. Therefore, you shall believe in God and His messengers. And if you attain faith and become righteous, then awaiting you is a magnificent reward.

وَلَا يَحْسَبَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَبْخَلُونَ بِمَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ مِن فَضْلِهِۦ هُوَ خَيْرًا لَّهُم بَلْ هُوَ شَرٌّ لَّهُمْ سَيُطَوَّقُونَ مَا بَخِلُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ وَلِلَّهِ مِيرَٰثُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرٌ ١٨٠

[3:180] And those who have become stingy with what God has bestowed upon them from His bounty should not count on it as being good for them. On the contrary, it is detrimental to them. Their stinginess will be around their necks on the Day of Resurrection. Moreover, to God belongs the inheritance of the vacua and matter. And God is fully cognizant of everything you do.

لَّقَدْ سَمِعَ ٱللَّهُ قَوْلَ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ فَقِيرٌ وَنَحْنُ أَغْنِيَآءُ سَنَكْتُبُ مَا قَالُوا۟ وَقَتْلَهُمُ ٱلْأَنۢبِيَآءَ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ وَنَقُولُ ذُوقُوا۟ عَذَابَ ٱلْحَرِيقِ ١٨١

[3:181] Indeed, God has heard the utterance of those who said God is poor and we are rich; We will soon record what they said, furthermore, they murdered the prophets unjustly and We say, taste the suffering of the Inferno.

ذَٰلِكَ بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيكُمْ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَيْسَ بِظَلَّامٍ لِّلْعَبِيدِ ١٨٢

[3:182] This is the consequence of your own deeds and indeed God is never unjust toward His servants.

ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَهِدَ إِلَيْنَآ أَلَّا نُؤْمِنَ لِرَسُولٍ حَتَّىٰ يَأْتِيَنَا بِقُرْبَانٍ تَأْكُلُهُ ٱلنَّارُ قُلْ قَدْ جَآءَكُمْ رُسُلٌ مِّن قَبْلِى بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ وَبِٱلَّذِى قُلْتُمْ فَلِمَ قَتَلْتُمُوهُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ صَـٰدِقِينَ ١٨٣

[3:183] These are the ones who said; indeed God has made a covenant with us that we shall not believe in any messenger unless he brings us a sacrifice that is consumed by the fire. Say; indeed messengers came to you before me with proofs and what you are demanding; then why did you murder them if you are truthful?

فَإِن كَذَّبُوكَ فَقَدْ كُذِّبَ رُسُلٌ مِّن قَبْلِكَ جَآءُو بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ وَٱلزُّبُرِ وَٱلْكِتَـٰبِ ٱلْمُنِيرِ ١٨٤

[3:184] Therefore, if they reject you, indeed messengers before you were also rejected, in spite of the fact that they came with proofs and the Psalms and enlightening scripture.

كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَآئِقَةُ ٱلْمَوْتِ وَإِنَّمَا تُوَفَّوْنَ أُجُورَكُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ فَمَن زُحْزِحَ عَنِ ٱلنَّارِ وَأُدْخِلَ ٱلْجَنَّةَ فَقَدْ فَازَ وَمَا ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنْيَآ إِلَّا مَتَـٰعُ ٱلْغُرُورِ ١٨٥

[3:185] Every soul shall taste death. And indeed you will receive your recompense on the Day of Resurrection. Therefore, whoever barely misses Hell and enters Paradise, he has indeed attained victory. Moreover, this worldly life is nothing but enjoyment of an illusion.

لَتُبْلَوُنَّ فِىٓ أَمْوَٰلِكُمْ وَأَنفُسِكُمْ وَلَتَسْمَعُنَّ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ وَمِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوٓا۟ أَذًى كَثِيرًا وَإِن تَصْبِرُوا۟ وَتَتَّقُوا۟ فَإِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ مِنْ عَزْمِ ٱلْأُمُورِ ١٨٦

[3:186] Indeed you will be tested through your money as well as yourselves, and indeed you will hear a lot of abuse from those who have been given the scripture before you and those who set up partners for god. And if you persevere and maintain righteousness, then indeed this is a sign of strength of character.

وَإِذْ أَخَذَ ٱللَّهُ مِيثَـٰقَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ لَتُبَيِّنُنَّهُۥ لِلنَّاسِ وَلَا تَكْتُمُونَهُۥ فَنَبَذُوهُ وَرَآءَ ظُهُورِهِمْ وَٱشْتَرَوْا۟ بِهِۦ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا فَبِئْسَ مَا يَشْتَرُونَ ١٨٧

[3:187] And when God took a covenant from those who have been given the scripture, that indeed this is an enlightenment for the people and do not conceal it; however, they abandoned it and threw it behind them and traded it for a cheap price. Therefore, what a poor choice they made.

لَا تَحْسَبَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَفْرَحُونَ بِمَآ أَتَوا۟ وَّيُحِبُّونَ أَن يُحْمَدُوا۟ بِمَا لَمْ يَفْعَلُوا۟ فَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّهُم بِمَفَازَةٍ مِّنَ ٱلْعَذَابِ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ ١٨٨

[3:188] Do not think that those who are boasting about what they give and love to be praised for what they have not done, again do not think that they can evade the suffering. And for them is a painful suffering.

وَلِلَّهِ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ ١٨٩

[3:189] And to God belongs the kingship of the vacua and matter. And God is All Powerful over all things.

إِنَّ فِى خَلْقِ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱخْتِلَـٰفِ ٱلَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ لَـَٔايَـٰتٍ لِّأُو۟لِى ٱلْأَلْبَـٰبِ ١٩٠

[3:190] Indeed, in the creation of the vacua and matter and the variation of the night and the day are proofs for those who possess vision.

ٱلَّذِينَ يَذْكُرُونَ ٱللَّهَ قِيَـٰمًا وَقُعُودًا وَعَلَىٰ جُنُوبِهِمْ وَيَتَفَكَّرُونَ فِى خَلْقِ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ رَبَّنَا مَا خَلَقْتَ هَـٰذَا بَـٰطِلًا سُبْحَـٰنَكَ فَقِنَا عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ ١٩١

[3:191] These are the ones who commemorate God while standing, sitting, and lying on their sides, and they think about the creation of the vacua and matter; our Lord, You did not create this in vain, be You glorified, therefore, spare us the suffering of Hell.

رَبَّنَآ إِنَّكَ مَن تُدْخِلِ ٱلنَّارَ فَقَدْ أَخْزَيْتَهُۥ وَمَا لِلظَّـٰلِمِينَ مِنْ أَنصَارٍ ١٩٢

[3:192] Our Lord, indeed whoever enters Hell has definitely been humiliated. And the unjust will have no helpers.

رَّبَّنَآ إِنَّنَا سَمِعْنَا مُنَادِيًا يُنَادِى لِلْإِيمَـٰنِ أَنْ ءَامِنُوا۟ بِرَبِّكُمْ فَـَٔامَنَّا رَبَّنَا فَٱغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَكَفِّرْ عَنَّا سَيِّـَٔاتِنَا وَتَوَفَّنَا مَعَ ٱلْأَبْرَارِ ١٩٣

[3:193] Our Lord, we indeed heard a caller calling to faith that you shall be faithful to your Lord, we then attained faith. Our Lord, forgive us our sins and remit our bad deeds and terminate our lives with the righteous.

رَبَّنَا وَءَاتِنَا مَا وَعَدتَّنَا عَلَىٰ رُسُلِكَ وَلَا تُخْزِنَا يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ إِنَّكَ لَا تُخْلِفُ ٱلْمِيعَادَ ١٩٤

[3:194] Our Lord, and grant us what You promised to Your messengers and do not make us grieve on the Day of Resurrection. Indeed You never break a promise.

فَٱسْتَجَابَ لَهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ أَنِّى لَآ أُضِيعُ عَمَلَ عَـٰمِلٍ مِّنكُم مِّن ذَكَرٍ أَوْ أُنثَىٰ بَعْضُكُم مِّنۢ بَعْضٍ فَٱلَّذِينَ هَاجَرُوا۟ وَأُخْرِجُوا۟ مِن دِيَـٰرِهِمْ وَأُوذُوا۟ فِى سَبِيلِى وَقَـٰتَلُوا۟ وَقُتِلُوا۟ لَأُكَفِّرَنَّ عَنْهُمْ سَيِّـَٔاتِهِمْ وَلَأُدْخِلَنَّهُمْ جَنَّـٰتٍ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ ثَوَابًا مِّنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱللَّهُ عِندَهُۥ حُسْنُ ٱلثَّوَابِ ١٩٥

[3:195] Hence, their Lord responded to them, that indeed I do not put to waste the deed of any worker among you be it male or female. This is for some of you out of a group. Therefore, those who emigrated and were driven out of their homes, and were persecuted for My cause and fought and got killed, I surely remit their bad deeds and surely admit them into paradises with flowing streams beneath them, a reward from God. And God possesses the best reward.

[3:196] Do not be impressed by the apparent success of the unfaithful in the society.

مَتَـٰعٌ قَلِيلٌ ثُمَّ مَأْوَىٰهُمْ جَهَنَّمُ وَبِئْسَ ٱلْمِهَادُ ١٩٧

[3:197] This is a small provision, then, their abode is Gehenna. And it is a miserable abode.

لَـٰكِنِ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوْا۟ رَبَّهُمْ لَهُمْ جَنَّـٰتٌ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ خَـٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا نُزُلًا مِّنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ وَمَا عِندَ ٱللَّهِ خَيْرٌ لِّلْأَبْرَارِ ١٩٨

[3:198] On the other hand, those who have feared their Lord, reserved for them are paradises with flowing streams beneath them; they abide therein forever, a gift from God. And what is at God is the best for the righteous.

وَإِنَّ مِنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ لَمَن يُؤْمِنُ بِٱللَّهِ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْهِمْ خَـٰشِعِينَ لِلَّهِ لَا يَشْتَرُونَ بِـَٔايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ أَجْرُهُمْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَرِيعُ ٱلْحِسَابِ ١٩٩

[3:199] And surely among the people of the scripture is indeed the one who has faith in God and what is revealed to you and what was revealed to them, they are humble for God; they do not trade God's Signs for a cheap price. These have their recompense at their Lord. Indeed God is quick in reckoning.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱصْبِرُوا۟ وَصَابِرُوا۟ وَرَابِطُوا۟ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ ٢٠٠

[3:200] O you faithful, be patient and persevere and stay connected and fear God that you may succeed.
