Sura 4: An-Nisā’ (The Women)

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

In the name of God, The All Gracious, The All Merciful

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ ٱتَّقُوا۟ رَبَّكُمُ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُم مِّن نَّفْسٍ وَٰحِدَةٍ وَخَلَقَ مِنْهَا زَوْجَهَا وَبَثَّ مِنْهُمَا رِجَالًا كَثِيرًا وَنِسَآءً وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ ٱلَّذِى تَسَآءَلُونَ بِهِۦ وَٱلْأَرْحَامَ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَلَيْكُمْ رَقِيبًا ١

[4:1] O you people, fear your Lord, the one who created you from a single soul and created from her, her mate and spread from the two of them many men and women. And you shall fear God, the one whom you and your relatives have to answer to. Indeed God is Ever Watchful over you.

وَءَاتُوا۟ ٱلْيَتَـٰمَىٰٓ أَمْوَٰلَهُمْ وَلَا تَتَبَدَّلُوا۟ ٱلْخَبِيثَ بِٱلطَّيِّبِ وَلَا تَأْكُلُوٓا۟ أَمْوَٰلَهُمْ إِلَىٰٓ أَمْوَٰلِكُمْ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ حُوبًا كَبِيرًا ٢

[4:2] And give the fatherless their money and do not exchange the good for the evil. And do not consume their money along with your money. Indeed it is a great sin.

وَإِنْ خِفْتُمْ أَلَّا تُقْسِطُوا۟ فِى ٱلْيَتَـٰمَىٰ فَٱنكِحُوا۟ مَا طَابَ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلنِّسَآءِ مَثْنَىٰ وَثُلَـٰثَ وَرُبَـٰعَ فَإِنْ خِفْتُمْ أَلَّا تَعْدِلُوا۟ فَوَٰحِدَةً أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَـٰنُكُمْ ذَٰلِكَ أَدْنَىٰٓ أَلَّا تَعُولُوا۟ ٣

[4:3] And if you fear that you may not be equitable towards the fatherless, then you shall marry from the women, those who are pleasing to you, two, three or four. However, if you fear that you may not be able to maintain equality, then continue with one or whatever you already have. It is better that you do not have too many wives.

وَءَاتُوا۟ ٱلنِّسَآءَ صَدُقَـٰتِهِنَّ نِحْلَةً فَإِن طِبْنَ لَكُمْ عَن شَىْءٍ مِّنْهُ نَفْسًا فَكُلُوهُ هَنِيٓـًٔا مَّرِيٓـًٔا ٤

[4:4] You shall give the women their due alms without reservation. And if they forfeit something on their own volition, then you can consume it as you see fit.

وَلَا تُؤْتُوا۟ ٱلسُّفَهَآءَ أَمْوَٰلَكُمُ ٱلَّتِى جَعَلَ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمْ قِيَـٰمًا وَٱرْزُقُوهُمْ فِيهَا وَٱكْسُوهُمْ وَقُولُوا۟ لَهُمْ قَوْلًا مَّعْرُوفًا ٥

[4:5] And do not give the mentally challenged the money that God has entrusted with you as guardians and provide for them therewith, and clothe them and speak to them amicably.

وَٱبْتَلُوا۟ ٱلْيَتَـٰمَىٰ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا بَلَغُوا۟ ٱلنِّكَاحَ فَإِنْ ءَانَسْتُم مِّنْهُمْ رُشْدًا فَٱدْفَعُوٓا۟ إِلَيْهِمْ أَمْوَٰلَهُمْ وَلَا تَأْكُلُوهَآ إِسْرَافًا وَبِدَارًا أَن يَكْبَرُوا۟ وَمَن كَانَ غَنِيًّا فَلْيَسْتَعْفِفْ وَمَن كَانَ فَقِيرًا فَلْيَأْكُلْ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ فَإِذَا دَفَعْتُمْ إِلَيْهِمْ أَمْوَٰلَهُمْ فَأَشْهِدُوا۟ عَلَيْهِمْ وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ حَسِيبًا ٦

[4:6] And test the fatherless until they reach puberty, then if you feel that they are mature enough, you shall release their money to them. And do not consume it excessively and hastily while they are growing up. As for the one who is rich, then he should forfeit. As for the one who is poor then he should consume in a fair manner. When you give them their money, you shall then have it witnessed. And God is sufficient as a reckoner.

لِّلرِّجَالِ نَصِيبٌ مِّمَّا تَرَكَ ٱلْوَٰلِدَانِ وَٱلْأَقْرَبُونَ وَلِلنِّسَآءِ نَصِيبٌ مِّمَّا تَرَكَ ٱلْوَٰلِدَانِ وَٱلْأَقْرَبُونَ مِمَّا قَلَّ مِنْهُ أَوْ كَثُرَ نَصِيبًا مَّفْرُوضًا ٧

[4:7] For men there shall be a share of what parents and the relatives leave behind and so for the women, there shall be a share of what parents and the relatives leave behind be it small or large. This is a decreed share.

وَإِذَا حَضَرَ ٱلْقِسْمَةَ أُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ وَٱلْيَتَـٰمَىٰ وَٱلْمَسَـٰكِينُ فَٱرْزُقُوهُم مِّنْهُ وَقُولُوا۟ لَهُمْ قَوْلًا مَّعْرُوفًا ٨

[4:8] And at the time of distribution if the relatives, the fatherless and the needy are present, you shall provide for them therefrom and speak to them nicely.

وَلْيَخْشَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَوْ تَرَكُوا۟ مِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّةً ضِعَـٰفًا خَافُوا۟ عَلَيْهِمْ فَلْيَتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَلْيَقُولُوا۟ قَوْلًا سَدِيدًا ٩

[4:9] And indeed those who are fearful of leaving small children behind and are afraid for them, shall fear God, and shall speak in a straightforward manner.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَأْكُلُونَ أَمْوَٰلَ ٱلْيَتَـٰمَىٰ ظُلْمًا إِنَّمَا يَأْكُلُونَ فِى بُطُونِهِمْ نَارًا وَسَيَصْلَوْنَ سَعِيرًا ١٠

[4:10] Indeed those who consume money belonging to the fatherless unjustly are consuming fire in their bellies and will be thrown in Hell.

يُوصِيكُمُ ٱللَّهُ فِىٓ أَوْلَـٰدِكُمْ لِلذَّكَرِ مِثْلُ حَظِّ ٱلْأُنثَيَيْنِ فَإِن كُنَّ نِسَآءً فَوْقَ ٱثْنَتَيْنِ فَلَهُنَّ ثُلُثَا مَا تَرَكَ وَإِن كَانَتْ وَٰحِدَةً فَلَهَا ٱلنِّصْفُ وَلِأَبَوَيْهِ لِكُلِّ وَٰحِدٍ مِّنْهُمَا ٱلسُّدُسُ مِمَّا تَرَكَ إِن كَانَ لَهُۥ وَلَدٌ فَإِن لَّمْ يَكُن لَّهُۥ وَلَدٌ وَوَرِثَهُۥٓ أَبَوَاهُ فَلِأُمِّهِ ٱلثُّلُثُ فَإِن كَانَ لَهُۥٓ إِخْوَةٌ فَلِأُمِّهِ ٱلسُّدُسُ مِنۢ بَعْدِ وَصِيَّةٍ يُوصِى بِهَآ أَوْ دَيْنٍ ءَابَآؤُكُمْ وَأَبْنَآؤُكُمْ لَا تَدْرُونَ أَيُّهُمْ أَقْرَبُ لَكُمْ نَفْعًا فَرِيضَةً مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًا ١١

[4:11] God decrees a will for your children. The male shall receive twice as the female. If they are all females more than two, then they shall receive two thirds of what is left. And if there is only one, she shall receive half. As for the parents, each shall receive one-sixth of what is left behind if he has children. However, if he does not have children, then the mother gets a third. If he has siblings, then the mother gets one-sixth. This is after any will he has left or any debt. As for your parents and your children, you do not know which ones are closer to you and more beneficial. This is a decree from God. Indeed God is All Knowing, All Wise.

وَلَكُمْ نِصْفُ مَا تَرَكَ أَزْوَٰجُكُمْ إِن لَّمْ يَكُن لَّهُنَّ وَلَدٌ فَإِن كَانَ لَهُنَّ وَلَدٌ فَلَكُمُ ٱلرُّبُعُ مِمَّا تَرَكْنَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ وَصِيَّةٍ يُوصِينَ بِهَآ أَوْ دَيْنٍ وَلَهُنَّ ٱلرُّبُعُ مِمَّا تَرَكْتُمْ إِن لَّمْ يَكُن لَّكُمْ وَلَدٌ فَإِن كَانَ لَكُمْ وَلَدٌ فَلَهُنَّ ٱلثُّمُنُ مِمَّا تَرَكْتُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ وَصِيَّةٍ تُوصُونَ بِهَآ أَوْ دَيْنٍ وَإِن كَانَ رَجُلٌ يُورَثُ كَلَـٰلَةً أَوِ ٱمْرَأَةٌ وَلَهُۥٓ أَخٌ أَوْ أُخْتٌ فَلِكُلِّ وَٰحِدٍ مِّنْهُمَا ٱلسُّدُسُ فَإِن كَانُوٓا۟ أَكْثَرَ مِن ذَٰلِكَ فَهُمْ شُرَكَآءُ فِى ٱلثُّلُثِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ وَصِيَّةٍ يُوصَىٰ بِهَآ أَوْ دَيْنٍ غَيْرَ مُضَآرٍّ وَصِيَّةً مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَلِيمٌ ١٢

[4:12] Furthermore, you shall get half of what your wives leave behind if they do not have any children. However if they have children then you shall receive one-fourth of what they leave behind. This is after any will they have left behind or any debt. And they shall receive one-fourth of what you leave behind if you do not have any children. However, if you have children then they shall receive one-eighth of what you leave behind. This is after any will you have left behind or any debt. If the man or the woman is unmarried, and there is a brother or a sister, then each one shall receive one-sixth. However, if there is more than that, then they shall share one-third. This is after any will which is left behind or any debt so that no harm is done. This is a will from God. Moreover, God is All Knowing, Clement.

تِلْكَ حُدُودُ ٱللَّهِ وَمَن يُطِعِ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ يُدْخِلْهُ جَنَّـٰتٍ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ خَـٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا وَذَٰلِكَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ ١٣

[4:13] These are God's limits. And whoever obeys God and His messenger, he will enter paradises with flowing streams beneath them; they abide therein forever. And this is the great triumph.

وَمَن يَعْصِ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ وَيَتَعَدَّ حُدُودَهُۥ يُدْخِلْهُ نَارًا خَـٰلِدًا فِيهَا وَلَهُۥ عَذَابٌ مُّهِينٌ ١٤

[4:14] However, whoever disobeys God and His messenger and transgresses His limits, he will enter Hell eternally, and for him there is a humiliating suffering.

وَٱلَّـٰتِى يَأْتِينَ ٱلْفَـٰحِشَةَ مِن نِّسَآئِكُمْ فَٱسْتَشْهِدُوا۟ عَلَيْهِنَّ أَرْبَعَةً مِّنكُمْ فَإِن شَهِدُوا۟ فَأَمْسِكُوهُنَّ فِى ٱلْبُيُوتِ حَتَّىٰ يَتَوَفَّىٰهُنَّ ٱلْمَوْتُ أَوْ يَجْعَلَ ٱللَّهُ لَهُنَّ سَبِيلًا ١٥

[4:15] And those of your women who commit vice, you shall have four witnesses from amongst you, if they do bear witness, then, make them stay at home until they die or God finds a way out for them.

وَٱلَّذَانِ يَأْتِيَـٰنِهَا مِنكُمْ فَـَٔاذُوهُمَا فَإِن تَابَا وَأَصْلَحَا فَأَعْرِضُوا۟ عَنْهُمَآ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ تَوَّابًا رَّحِيمًا ١٦

[4:16] As for the couple who do the aforementioned readily, you shall make it difficult for the two of them, if they then repent and reform you shall leave the two of them alone. Indeed God is Acceptor of Repentance, All Merciful.

إِنَّمَا ٱلتَّوْبَةُ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ لِلَّذِينَ يَعْمَلُونَ ٱلسُّوٓءَ بِجَهَـٰلَةٍ ثُمَّ يَتُوبُونَ مِن قَرِيبٍ فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ يَتُوبُ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًا ١٧

[4:17] Indeed repentance to God is reserved for those who commit evil due to ignorance then they immediately repent, consequently God accepts their repentance. And God is All Knowing, All Wise.

وَلَيْسَتِ ٱلتَّوْبَةُ لِلَّذِينَ يَعْمَلُونَ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا حَضَرَ أَحَدَهُمُ ٱلْمَوْتُ قَالَ إِنِّى تُبْتُ ٱلْـَٔـٰنَ وَلَا ٱلَّذِينَ يَمُوتُونَ وَهُمْ كُفَّارٌ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ أَعْتَدْنَا لَهُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا ١٨

[4:18] And repentance is not for those who commit evil until death comes to one of them, he says now I repent, and nor for those who die as unfaithful. Promised to them is a painful suffering.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا يَحِلُّ لَكُمْ أَن تَرِثُوا۟ ٱلنِّسَآءَ كَرْهًا وَلَا تَعْضُلُوهُنَّ لِتَذْهَبُوا۟ بِبَعْضِ مَآ ءَاتَيْتُمُوهُنَّ إِلَّآ أَن يَأْتِينَ بِفَـٰحِشَةٍ مُّبَيِّنَةٍ وَعَاشِرُوهُنَّ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ فَإِن كَرِهْتُمُوهُنَّ فَعَسَىٰٓ أَن تَكْرَهُوا۟ شَيْـًٔا وَيَجْعَلَ ٱللَّهُ فِيهِ خَيْرًا كَثِيرًا ١٩

[4:19] O you faithful, it is not permitted for you to inherit women reluctantly. Furthermore, do not force them into letting go of what you have given them, except in the case of readily committing a proven vice. And you shall treat them amicably. Remember, if you dislike them, you may dislike something wherein God has placed a lot of good.

وَإِنْ أَرَدتُّمُ ٱسْتِبْدَالَ زَوْجٍ مَّكَانَ زَوْجٍ وَءَاتَيْتُمْ إِحْدَىٰهُنَّ قِنطَارًا فَلَا تَأْخُذُوا۟ مِنْهُ شَيْـًٔا أَتَأْخُذُونَهُۥ بُهْتَـٰنًا وَإِثْمًا مُّبِينًا ٢٠

[4:20] Furthermore, if you decide to replace a wife with another wife and you have given the first one plenty, then do not take away a thing. Will you take it illicitly while it is a manifest sin?

وَكَيْفَ تَأْخُذُونَهُۥ وَقَدْ أَفْضَىٰ بَعْضُكُمْ إِلَىٰ بَعْضٍ وَأَخَذْنَ مِنكُم مِّيثَـٰقًا غَلِيظًا ٢١

[4:21] And how can you take it back when you have been intimate with one another and they have taken a solemn pledge from you?

وَلَا تَنكِحُوا۟ مَا نَكَحَ ءَابَآؤُكُم مِّنَ ٱلنِّسَآءِ إِلَّا مَا قَدْ سَلَفَ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فَـٰحِشَةً وَمَقْتًا وَسَآءَ سَبِيلًا ٢٢

[4:22] And do not marry the ones whom your fathers have been married to, exceptions are provided for the cases that have already happened before this. This is indeed an abomination, abhorrent and an evil way.

حُرِّمَتْ عَلَيْكُمْ أُمَّهَـٰتُكُمْ وَبَنَاتُكُمْ وَأَخَوَٰتُكُمْ وَعَمَّـٰتُكُمْ وَخَـٰلَـٰتُكُمْ وَبَنَاتُ ٱلْأَخِ وَبَنَاتُ ٱلْأُخْتِ وَأُمَّهَـٰتُكُمُ ٱلَّـٰتِىٓ أَرْضَعْنَكُمْ وَأَخَوَٰتُكُم مِّنَ ٱلرَّضَـٰعَةِ وَأُمَّهَـٰتُ نِسَآئِكُمْ وَرَبَـٰٓئِبُكُمُ ٱلَّـٰتِى فِى حُجُورِكُم مِّن نِّسَآئِكُمُ ٱلَّـٰتِى دَخَلْتُم بِهِنَّ فَإِن لَّمْ تَكُونُوا۟ دَخَلْتُم بِهِنَّ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَحَلَـٰٓئِلُ أَبْنَآئِكُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ مِنْ أَصْلَـٰبِكُمْ وَأَن تَجْمَعُوا۟ بَيْنَ ٱلْأُخْتَيْنِ إِلَّا مَا قَدْ سَلَفَ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ غَفُورًا رَّحِيمًا ٢٣

[4:23] Prohibited for you are your mothers, your daughters, your sisters, sisters of your fathers, sisters of your mothers, daughters of your brothers, daughters of your sisters, your nursing mothers, sisters whom had the same nursing mothers, your mothers in-law, your stepdaughters in your homes from wives that you have consummated intercourse and if you have not consummated intercourse with them, then there is no blame on you and the wives of your genetic sons and marrying two sisters simultaneously, exceptions are cases that have already happened before this. Indeed God is All Forgiving, All Merciful.

وَٱلْمُحْصَنَـٰتُ مِنَ ٱلنِّسَآءِ إِلَّا مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَـٰنُكُمْ كِتَـٰبَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَأُحِلَّ لَكُم مَّا وَرَآءَ ذَٰلِكُمْ أَن تَبْتَغُوا۟ بِأَمْوَٰلِكُم مُّحْصِنِينَ غَيْرَ مُسَـٰفِحِينَ فَمَا ٱسْتَمْتَعْتُم بِهِۦ مِنْهُنَّ فَـَٔاتُوهُنَّ أُجُورَهُنَّ فَرِيضَةً وَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ فِيمَا تَرَٰضَيْتُم بِهِۦ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ٱلْفَرِيضَةِ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًا ٢٤

[4:24] As well as married women, except those who are under your protection. This is God's proclamation upon you. And permitted for you to marry according to the law are all others as long as they maintain their chastity and do not commit unlawful acts. Once you decide to go through with it then you shall give them their wages as agreed. There is no blame on you if you come to a consensus upon anything after the agreement. Indeed God is All Knowing, All Wise.

وَمَن لَّمْ يَسْتَطِعْ مِنكُمْ طَوْلًا أَن يَنكِحَ ٱلْمُحْصَنَـٰتِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنَـٰتِ فَمِن مَّا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَـٰنُكُم مِّن فَتَيَـٰتِكُمُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنَـٰتِ وَٱللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِإِيمَـٰنِكُم بَعْضُكُم مِّنۢ بَعْضٍ فَٱنكِحُوهُنَّ بِإِذْنِ أَهْلِهِنَّ وَءَاتُوهُنَّ أُجُورَهُنَّ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ مُحْصَنَـٰتٍ غَيْرَ مُسَـٰفِحَـٰتٍ وَلَا مُتَّخِذَٰتِ أَخْدَانٍ فَإِذَآ أُحْصِنَّ فَإِنْ أَتَيْنَ بِفَـٰحِشَةٍ فَعَلَيْهِنَّ نِصْفُ مَا عَلَى ٱلْمُحْصَنَـٰتِ مِنَ ٱلْعَذَابِ ذَٰلِكَ لِمَنْ خَشِىَ ٱلْعَنَتَ مِنكُمْ وَأَن تَصْبِرُوا۟ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ ٢٥

[4:25] And those of you who cannot afford to marry chaste believing women, then take one from those who are under your protection, from the young ladies who are faithful. And God knows best about their faith. Some are better than others. Therefore, you shall marry them by asking permission from their families and give them their wage equitably, they shall maintain their chastity, do not commit unlawful acts, and do not take boyfriends. Once they are married, if they are caught in an act of adultery, then their punishment shall be half that of other married women. This is for those of you who fear the hardship. And being patient is the best for you. And God is All Forgiving, All Merciful.

يُرِيدُ ٱللَّهُ لِيُبَيِّنَ لَكُمْ وَيَهْدِيَكُمْ سُنَنَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ وَيَتُوبَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ ٢٦

[4:26] God wishes to enlighten you and guide you to the traditions of those before you and accept your repentance. God is All Knowing, All Wise.

وَٱللَّهُ يُرِيدُ أَن يَتُوبَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَيُرِيدُ ٱلَّذِينَ يَتَّبِعُونَ ٱلشَّهَوَٰتِ أَن تَمِيلُوا۟ مَيْلًا عَظِيمًا ٢٧

[4:27] Moreover, God wishes to accept your repentance and those who wish to give in to their lusts, would like to see you divert, a great divergence.

يُرِيدُ ٱللَّهُ أَن يُخَفِّفَ عَنكُمْ وَخُلِقَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ ضَعِيفًا ٢٨

[4:28] God wishes to lighten your load, since the human being was created weak.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَأْكُلُوٓا۟ أَمْوَٰلَكُم بَيْنَكُم بِٱلْبَـٰطِلِ إِلَّآ أَن تَكُونَ تِجَـٰرَةً عَن تَرَاضٍ مِّنكُمْ وَلَا تَقْتُلُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَكُمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ بِكُمْ رَحِيمًا ٢٩

[4:29] O you faithful, do not consume each other's money illicitly, however, an agreed upon transaction is not illicit. And do not kill yourselves. Indeed, God is All Merciful towards you.

[4:30] And whoever does this maliciously and unjustly, We will soon throw him into Hell. And this is easy to do for God.

[4:32] Furthermore, do not covet what God has bestowed of a bounty to some more than others. For men there is a share of what they earn and for the women is a share of what they earn. And ask God for His bounty. Indeed God is All Knowing of everything.

[4:33] And for everyone, We have decreed a share of what the parents and the relatives leave behind. As for those who are related through marriage, you shall give them their share. Indeed God witnesses all things.

ٱلرِّجَالُ قَوَّٰمُونَ عَلَى ٱلنِّسَآءِ بِمَا فَضَّلَ ٱللَّهُ بَعْضَهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ وَبِمَآ أَنفَقُوا۟ مِنْ أَمْوَٰلِهِمْ فَٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتُ قَـٰنِتَـٰتٌ حَـٰفِظَـٰتٌ لِّلْغَيْبِ بِمَا حَفِظَ ٱللَّهُ وَٱلَّـٰتِى تَخَافُونَ نُشُوزَهُنَّ فَعِظُوهُنَّ وَٱهْجُرُوهُنَّ فِى ٱلْمَضَاجِعِ وَٱضْرِبُوهُنَّ فَإِنْ أَطَعْنَكُمْ فَلَا تَبْغُوا۟ عَلَيْهِنَّ سَبِيلًا إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَلِيًّا كَبِيرًا ٣٤

[4:34] The men are protectors of women because God has bestowed certain unique qualities upon them and made them bread earners. Therefore, righteous women are obedient and chaste in their privacy, according to God's decree for chastity. And those women whom you fear their rebellion, you shall then enlighten them; thereafter you shall desert them in bed and ignore them. Once they obey you, you shall not transgress against them in any manner. Indeed God is Exalted, absolutely Great.

وَإِنْ خِفْتُمْ شِقَاقَ بَيْنِهِمَا فَٱبْعَثُوا۟ حَكَمًا مِّنْ أَهْلِهِۦ وَحَكَمًا مِّنْ أَهْلِهَآ إِن يُرِيدَآ إِصْلَـٰحًا يُوَفِّقِ ٱللَّهُ بَيْنَهُمَآ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَلِيمًا خَبِيرًا ٣٥

[4:35] And if you fear separation between the two of them, you then shall appoint an arbitrator from his family and an arbitrator from her family, to see if they decide to reconcile, God will bring the two of them together. Indeed God is All Knowing, Cognizant.

وَٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَلَا تُشْرِكُوا۟ بِهِۦ شَيْـًٔا وَبِٱلْوَٰلِدَيْنِ إِحْسَـٰنًا وَبِذِى ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ وَٱلْيَتَـٰمَىٰ وَٱلْمَسَـٰكِينِ وَٱلْجَارِ ذِى ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ وَٱلْجَارِ ٱلْجُنُبِ وَٱلصَّاحِبِ بِٱلْجَنۢبِ وَٱبْنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ وَمَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَـٰنُكُمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ مَن كَانَ مُخْتَالًا فَخُورًا ٣٦

[4:36] And worship God and do not set up anything as a partner for Him. Moreover, you shall be good to the parents, as well as the relatives and the fatherless and the poor and related neighbor and the unrelated neighbor and the close friend and the refugee and those under your protection. Indeed God does not love the one who is sneaky, proud.

ٱلَّذِينَ يَبْخَلُونَ وَيَأْمُرُونَ ٱلنَّاسَ بِٱلْبُخْلِ وَيَكْتُمُونَ مَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ مِن فَضْلِهِۦ وَأَعْتَدْنَا لِلْكَـٰفِرِينَ عَذَابًا مُّهِينًا ٣٧

[4:37] Those who are stingy encourage people to be stingy and hide what God has bestowed upon them of His bounty. And We have promised the unfaithful a humiliating suffering.

[4:38] And there are those who spend their money to impress people and do not believe in God and the Last Day. And whoever takes Satan as a companion has the worst companion.

[4:40] Indeed God does not commit an atom's weight of injustice. Furthermore, if you do good, He multiplies it and gives from His special place a great recompense.

[4:41] And how would it be when We bring a witness from every community and bring you as a witness over these people?

[4:42] That is the day when those who have no faith and disobeyed the messenger would wish that they were level with the ground and they will not be able to hide any utterance from God.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَقْرَبُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَأَنتُمْ سُكَـٰرَىٰ حَتَّىٰ تَعْلَمُوا۟ مَا تَقُولُونَ وَلَا جُنُبًا إِلَّا عَابِرِى سَبِيلٍ حَتَّىٰ تَغْتَسِلُوا۟ وَإِن كُنتُم مَّرْضَىٰٓ أَوْ عَلَىٰ سَفَرٍ أَوْ جَآءَ أَحَدٌ مِّنكُم مِّنَ ٱلْغَآئِطِ أَوْ لَـٰمَسْتُمُ ٱلنِّسَآءَ فَلَمْ تَجِدُوا۟ مَآءً فَتَيَمَّمُوا۟ صَعِيدًا طَيِّبًا فَٱمْسَحُوا۟ بِوُجُوهِكُمْ وَأَيْدِيكُمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَفُوًّا غَفُورًا ٤٣

[4:43] O you who have attained faith, do not approach the contact prayer while drunk, wait until you know what you are saying and when you are unclean due to sexual orgasm then you shall bathe, except when you are traveling. And if you are ill or on a trip or have digestive excretion or have touched women and you cannot find water, then you shall perform dry ablution with dry, clean soil by wiping your face and your hands. Indeed God is Pardoner, All Forgiving.

[4:44] Do you see how those who have received a portion of the scripture choose to go astray and wish that you go astray from the path?

[4:45] And God knows your enemies well. Furthermore, God suffices as an Ally and God suffices as a Supporter.

[4:46] Some of those who are Judeans distort the word from its original and say we hear and disobey and we hear nothing but the unbearable, and they said, be our shepherd as they twisted their tongues to be sarcastic towards the religion. And had they said, we hear and obey, and hear us and watch over us, it would have been better for them and more straight-forward, however, God has cursed them because of their lack of faith, therefore, they never attain faith except a few.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ ءَامِنُوا۟ بِمَا نَزَّلْنَا مُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا مَعَكُم مِّن قَبْلِ أَن نَّطْمِسَ وُجُوهًا فَنَرُدَّهَا عَلَىٰٓ أَدْبَارِهَآ أَوْ نَلْعَنَهُمْ كَمَا لَعَنَّآ أَصْحَـٰبَ ٱلسَّبْتِ وَكَانَ أَمْرُ ٱللَّهِ مَفْعُولًا ٤٧

[4:47] O you who have received the scripture, believe in what We have revealed, confirming what you already have before We condemn certain faces, then turn them backward, or curse them as We cursed the people who violated the Sabbath. And, God's command is always carried out.

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَغْفِرُ أَن يُشْرَكَ بِهِۦ وَيَغْفِرُ مَا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَمَن يُشْرِكْ بِٱللَّهِ فَقَدِ ٱفْتَرَىٰٓ إِثْمًا عَظِيمًا ٤٨

[4:48] Indeed God does not forgive setting up partners for Him; however, He forgives lesser sins for whomever He wills. Furthermore, whoever sets up partners for God, then, he has committed a great sin.

[4:49] Have you observed those who are trying to cleanse themselves? However, God cleanses whomever He wills and without the least injustice.

[4:50] Note how they attribute lies to God. Thus, they commit with it a manifest sin.

[4:51] Do you see those who have accepted part of the scripture, believing in evil and idols, and saying to those who have no faith that this is better guidance than the way of the faithful?

[4:52] These are the ones whom God has condemned. Furthermore, whomever God condemns, he will never find a helper.

[4:53] Had they ever owned any part of the kingship, they would not give the people as much as a seed.

[4:54] Are they envious of what God has given people from His bounty? We indeed gave Abraham's descendants the scripture and wisdom and gave them a great kingdom.

فَمِنْهُم مَّنْ ءَامَنَ بِهِۦ وَمِنْهُم مَّن صَدَّ عَنْهُ وَكَفَىٰ بِجَهَنَّمَ سَعِيرًا ٥٥

[4:55] Thereafter, among them were those who believed in it and there were those who repelled from it. As for the latter, blazing Gehenna suffices.

[4:56] Indeed those who have no faith in our proofs, We will soon throw them into Hell; once their skin is cooked; We will replace it with new skin, in order to taste the agony. Indeed, God is Almighty, All Wise.

[4:57] As for those who have attained faith and led a righteous life, We will admit them into paradises with flowing streams beneath them, they abide therein eternally. For them are pure spouses and We will provide for them extended shades.

[4:58] Surely, God commands you to return the deposits to their owners, and when you judge among people, judge equitably. Indeed God enlightens you as a blessing. Surely God is All Hearer, All Seer.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ أَطِيعُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُوا۟ ٱلرَّسُولَ وَأُو۟لِى ٱلْأَمْرِ مِنكُمْ فَإِن تَنَـٰزَعْتُمْ فِى شَىْءٍ فَرُدُّوهُ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ وَٱلرَّسُولِ إِن كُنتُمْ تُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرِ ذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌ وَأَحْسَنُ تَأْوِيلًا ٥٩

[4:59] O you who have attained faith, obey God and obey the messenger and those in charge amongst you. Therefore, if you dispute in some matters, refer them to God and the messenger, if you believe in God and the Last Day. This is better and yields the best outcome.

أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ يَزْعُمُونَ أَنَّهُمْ ءَامَنُوا۟ بِمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ مِن قَبْلِكَ يُرِيدُونَ أَن يَتَحَاكَمُوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱلطَّـٰغُوتِ وَقَدْ أُمِرُوٓا۟ أَن يَكْفُرُوا۟ بِهِۦ وَيُرِيدُ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ أَن يُضِلَّهُمْ ضَلَـٰلًۢا بَعِيدًا ٦٠

[4:60] Have you observed those who think that they indeed believe in what was revealed to you and what was revealed before you, wanting to rule in favor of transgression, despite the fact that they were commanded not to believe in it? And Satan wants to divert them far off the right path.

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ تَعَالَوْا۟ إِلَىٰ مَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ وَإِلَى ٱلرَّسُولِ رَأَيْتَ ٱلْمُنَـٰفِقِينَ يَصُدُّونَ عَنكَ صُدُودًا ٦١

[4:61] And when they are told; come to what God has revealed to the messenger, you see the hypocrites do their best to block you, a complete blocking.

[4:62] Then, see how when a disaster strikes them as a consequence of their own deeds, they come to you swearing to God that we sought nothing but righteousness and success.

[4:63] These are the ones whom God knows what is in their hearts, therefore, ignore them and enlighten them, speak to them regarding their souls, using an eloquent tongue.

وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا لِيُطَاعَ بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ إِذ ظَّلَمُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ جَآءُوكَ فَٱسْتَغْفَرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱسْتَغْفَرَ لَهُمُ ٱلرَّسُولُ لَوَجَدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ تَوَّابًا رَّحِيمًا ٦٤

[4:64] Furthermore, We did not send any messenger, except to be obeyed in accordance to God's plan. And once they indeed transgress against their own souls, they come to you, seeking forgiveness from God and once the messenger asks forgiveness on their behalf, you will indeed find God Acceptor of repentance, All Merciful.

فَلَا وَرَبِّكَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ حَتَّىٰ يُحَكِّمُوكَ فِيمَا شَجَرَ بَيْنَهُمْ ثُمَّ لَا يَجِدُوا۟ فِىٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ حَرَجًا مِّمَّا قَضَيْتَ وَيُسَلِّمُوا۟ تَسْلِيمًا ٦٥

[4:65] Never, by your Lord, they will not believe until you judge among them regarding their dispute and find no hesitation in their souls regarding your judgment and they are completely at peace.

وَلَوْ أَنَّا كَتَبْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ أَنِ ٱقْتُلُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَكُمْ أَوِ ٱخْرُجُوا۟ مِن دِيَـٰرِكُم مَّا فَعَلُوهُ إِلَّا قَلِيلٌ مِّنْهُمْ وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ فَعَلُوا۟ مَا يُوعَظُونَ بِهِۦ لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَّهُمْ وَأَشَدَّ تَثْبِيتًا ٦٦

[4:66] Had We decreed for them; give up your lives or leave your homes; they would not have done so except for a few of them. And had they done what was enlightening to them, it would have indeed been better for them and a stronger foundation.

وَإِذًا لَّـَٔاتَيْنَـٰهُم مِّن لَّدُنَّآ أَجْرًا عَظِيمًا ٦٧

[4:67] And indeed We would have given them from Our special place a great recompense.

[4:68] And We would have indeed guided them to a straight path.

[4:69] Moreover, whoever obeys God and the messenger then they join those whom God has showered with His blessings amongst the prophets and the truthful ones and the martyrs and the righteous. And those are the best companions.

[4:70] This is the bounty from God. Moreover, God suffices as All Knower.

[4:71] O you who have attained faith, you shall be vigilant, you shall mobilize as individuals bravely or mobilize altogether.

[4:72] And indeed amongst you is the one who drags his feet, then, when a disaster strikes you, he says God has indeed blessed me that I was not a martyr along with them.

وَلَئِنْ أَصَـٰبَكُمْ فَضْلٌ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ لَيَقُولَنَّ كَأَن لَّمْ تَكُنۢ بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَهُۥ مَوَدَّةٌ يَـٰلَيْتَنِى كُنتُ مَعَهُمْ فَأَفُوزَ فَوْزًا عَظِيمًا ٧٣

[4:73] And if you, as a group, receive a bounty from God he will indeed say as though no friendship is lost between you and him, I wish I was with them then I would be victorious, attaining a great victory.

فَلْيُقَـٰتِلْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلَّذِينَ يَشْرُونَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَمَن يُقَـٰتِلْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ فَيُقْتَلْ أَوْ يَغْلِبْ فَسَوْفَ نُؤْتِيهِ أَجْرًا عَظِيمًا ٧٤

[4:74] Therefore, those who fight in the cause of God are those who have forsaken this worldly life in favor of the Hereafter. And whoever fights in the cause of God then he gets killed or achieves the upper hand, We will soon grant him a great recompense.

وَمَا لَكُمْ لَا تُقَـٰتِلُونَ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلْمُسْتَضْعَفِينَ مِنَ ٱلرِّجَالِ وَٱلنِّسَآءِ وَٱلْوِلْدَٰنِ ٱلَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَآ أَخْرِجْنَا مِنْ هَـٰذِهِ ٱلْقَرْيَةِ ٱلظَّالِمِ أَهْلُهَا وَٱجْعَل لَّنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ وَلِيًّا وَٱجْعَل لَّنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ نَصِيرًا ٧٥

[4:75] And what prevented you from fighting in the cause of God when the oppressed from among men, women and the children say, our Lord take us out of this town whose inhabitants commit injustice and appoint for us from your special place an ally and appoint for us from your special place a helper.

ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ يُقَـٰتِلُونَ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ يُقَـٰتِلُونَ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱلطَّـٰغُوتِ فَقَـٰتِلُوٓا۟ أَوْلِيَآءَ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنِ إِنَّ كَيْدَ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنِ كَانَ ضَعِيفًا ٧٦

[4:76] Those who have faith fight in the cause of God while those who have no faith fight in the cause of idols, therefore you shall fight the allies of Satan. Indeed the scheming of Satan is weak.

أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ قِيلَ لَهُمْ كُفُّوٓا۟ أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتُوا۟ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ فَلَمَّا كُتِبَ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْقِتَالُ إِذَا فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُمْ يَخْشَوْنَ ٱلنَّاسَ كَخَشْيَةِ ٱللَّهِ أَوْ أَشَدَّ خَشْيَةً وَقَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَا لِمَ كَتَبْتَ عَلَيْنَا ٱلْقِتَالَ لَوْلَآ أَخَّرْتَنَآ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ قَرِيبٍ قُلْ مَتَـٰعُ ٱلدُّنْيَا قَلِيلٌ وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ لِّمَنِ ٱتَّقَىٰ وَلَا تُظْلَمُونَ فَتِيلًا ٧٧

[4:77] Have you observed those who were told; hold your hands back and observe the contact prayer and give the cleansing charity, then, once fighting was decreed for them, a group of them feared people just like they feared God or even more? Furthermore, they said, our Lord why did you decree fighting for us, and why did you not delay this a little more? Say, the material of this world is little while the Hereafter is better for the one who is righteous and none will suffer the least injustice.

أَيْنَمَا تَكُونُوا۟ يُدْرِككُّمُ ٱلْمَوْتُ وَلَوْ كُنتُمْ فِى بُرُوجٍ مُّشَيَّدَةٍ وَإِن تُصِبْهُمْ حَسَنَةٌ يَقُولُوا۟ هَـٰذِهِۦ مِنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ وَإِن تُصِبْهُمْ سَيِّئَةٌ يَقُولُوا۟ هَـٰذِهِۦ مِنْ عِندِكَ قُلْ كُلٌّ مِّنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ فَمَالِ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ ٱلْقَوْمِ لَا يَكَادُونَ يَفْقَهُونَ حَدِيثًا ٧٨

[4:78] Wherever you are, death will catch up with you even if you are in strongly founded towers. And when a good thing happens to them, they say this is from God and when a bad thing happens to them, they say, this is because of you. Say, everything is controlled by God. What is the matter with these folks, do they ever understand any enlightenment?

مَّآ أَصَابَكَ مِنْ حَسَنَةٍ فَمِنَ ٱللَّهِ وَمَآ أَصَابَكَ مِن سَيِّئَةٍ فَمِن نَّفْسِكَ وَأَرْسَلْنَـٰكَ لِلنَّاسِ رَسُولًا وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ شَهِيدًا ٧٩

[4:79] Whatever good happens to you is from God, and whatever bad happens to you is because of yourself. Moreover, We have sent you as a messenger to the people. And God suffices as a witness.

[4:80] Whoever obeys the messenger has indeed obeyed God. And the one who disobeys, We have not sent you as their guardian.

وَيَقُولُونَ طَاعَةٌ فَإِذَا بَرَزُوا۟ مِنْ عِندِكَ بَيَّتَ طَآئِفَةٌ مِّنْهُمْ غَيْرَ ٱلَّذِى تَقُولُ وَٱللَّهُ يَكْتُبُ مَا يُبَيِّتُونَ فَأَعْرِضْ عَنْهُمْ وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ وَكِيلًا ٨١

[4:81] Furthermore, they claim obedience, then once they leave your place, a group of them become doubtful regarding what they said. And God records their doubts. Therefore, leave them alone and put your trust in God. Moreover, God suffices as an Advocate.

أَفَلَا يَتَدَبَّرُونَ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ وَلَوْ كَانَ مِنْ عِندِ غَيْرِ ٱللَّهِ لَوَجَدُوا۟ فِيهِ ٱخْتِلَـٰفًا كَثِيرًا ٨٢

[4:82] Why do they not study the Quran carefully? If it were from other than God, they surely would have found in it many contradictions.

وَإِذَا جَآءَهُمْ أَمْرٌ مِّنَ ٱلْأَمْنِ أَوِ ٱلْخَوْفِ أَذَاعُوا۟ بِهِۦ وَلَوْ رَدُّوهُ إِلَى ٱلرَّسُولِ وَإِلَىٰٓ أُو۟لِى ٱلْأَمْرِ مِنْهُمْ لَعَلِمَهُ ٱلَّذِينَ يَسْتَنۢبِطُونَهُۥ مِنْهُمْ وَلَوْلَا فَضْلُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَتُهُۥ لَٱتَّبَعْتُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا ٨٣

[4:83] And when they come across matters of security or fear, they let everyone know. And had they referred it to the messenger and those in charge amongst them, those who are knowledgeable would have dealt with it. Furthermore, if it were not because of God's bounty that He has bestowed upon you, and His Mercy, you would have surely followed Satan, except for a few.

فَقَـٰتِلْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ لَا تُكَلَّفُ إِلَّا نَفْسَكَ وَحَرِّضِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَسَى ٱللَّهُ أَن يَكُفَّ بَأْسَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَٱللَّهُ أَشَدُّ بَأْسًا وَأَشَدُّ تَنكِيلًا ٨٤

[4:84] Therefore, fight in the cause of God, for you are not responsible except for your own soul. And encourage the faithful. God will then nullify the might of those who have no faith. God has the ultimate might and the ultimate know-how.

مَّن يَشْفَعْ شَفَـٰعَةً حَسَنَةً يَكُن لَّهُۥ نَصِيبٌ مِّنْهَا وَمَن يَشْفَعْ شَفَـٰعَةً سَيِّئَةً يَكُن لَّهُۥ كِفْلٌ مِّنْهَا وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ مُّقِيتًا ٨٥

[4:85] Whoever mediates a good mediation, he enjoys his share. And whoever mediates a bad mediation, he will suffer its consequences. Moreover, God keeps track of all things.

وَإِذَا حُيِّيتُم بِتَحِيَّةٍ فَحَيُّوا۟ بِأَحْسَنَ مِنْهَآ أَوْ رُدُّوهَآ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ حَسِيبًا ٨٦

[4:86] And when you are greeted with a greeting, you shall then respond with a better one or an equal one. Indeed God has counted all things.

[4:87] God, there is no god except He. He will surely gather you all on the Day of Resurrection, wherein there shall be no doubt. Furthermore, whose narration is more truthful than God's?

فَمَا لَكُمْ فِى ٱلْمُنَـٰفِقِينَ فِئَتَيْنِ وَٱللَّهُ أَرْكَسَهُم بِمَا كَسَبُوٓا۟ أَتُرِيدُونَ أَن تَهْدُوا۟ مَنْ أَضَلَّ ٱللَّهُ وَمَن يُضْلِلِ ٱللَّهُ فَلَن تَجِدَ لَهُۥ سَبِيلًا ٨٨

[4:88] Then why should you divide yourselves into two groups for the sake of the hypocrites when God has debased them because of their deeds? Do you wish to guide those whom God has sent astray? Moreover, whomever God sends astray, he will find no way out.

وَدُّوا۟ لَوْ تَكْفُرُونَ كَمَا كَفَرُوا۟ فَتَكُونُونَ سَوَآءً فَلَا تَتَّخِذُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ أَوْلِيَآءَ حَتَّىٰ يُهَاجِرُوا۟ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَخُذُوهُمْ وَٱقْتُلُوهُمْ حَيْثُ وَجَدتُّمُوهُمْ وَلَا تَتَّخِذُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ وَلِيًّا وَلَا نَصِيرًا ٨٩

[4:89] They want you to have no faith just like them, then they consider you equal. Therefore, you shall not take any one of them as an ally until they emigrate in the cause of God. Thereafter, if they turn against you, you may capture them and kill them when you confront them. Furthermore, do not take any of them as an ally and a helper.

إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ يَصِلُونَ إِلَىٰ قَوْمٍۭ بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَهُم مِّيثَـٰقٌ أَوْ جَآءُوكُمْ حَصِرَتْ صُدُورُهُمْ أَن يُقَـٰتِلُوكُمْ أَوْ يُقَـٰتِلُوا۟ قَوْمَهُمْ وَلَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ لَسَلَّطَهُمْ عَلَيْكُمْ فَلَقَـٰتَلُوكُمْ فَإِنِ ٱعْتَزَلُوكُمْ فَلَمْ يُقَـٰتِلُوكُمْ وَأَلْقَوْا۟ إِلَيْكُمُ ٱلسَّلَمَ فَمَا جَعَلَ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمْ عَلَيْهِمْ سَبِيلًا ٩٠

[4:90] Exempted are those who have joined people whom you have a treaty with them, or those who come and lack the courage to fight you or to fight their own people. And had God willed He could have had them mobilize against you then they would have fought you. Therefore, if they leave you alone and do not fight you and offer you peace, then God does not allow you to confront them in any way.

سَتَجِدُونَ ءَاخَرِينَ يُرِيدُونَ أَن يَأْمَنُوكُمْ وَيَأْمَنُوا۟ قَوْمَهُمْ كُلَّ مَا رُدُّوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱلْفِتْنَةِ أُرْكِسُوا۟ فِيهَا فَإِن لَّمْ يَعْتَزِلُوكُمْ وَيُلْقُوٓا۟ إِلَيْكُمُ ٱلسَّلَمَ وَيَكُفُّوٓا۟ أَيْدِيَهُمْ فَخُذُوهُمْ وَٱقْتُلُوهُمْ حَيْثُ ثَقِفْتُمُوهُمْ وَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكُمْ جَعَلْنَا لَكُمْ عَلَيْهِمْ سُلْطَـٰنًا مُّبِينًا ٩١

[4:91] You will find others who want to have security alongside you as well as their people, but once they are tested, they revert back to their original ways. Therefore, if they do not leave you alone, do not offer you peace, and do not hold their hands back, then you shall capture them and kill them when you defeat them. And these are the ones whom you are permitted to act against with clear authority.

وَمَا كَانَ لِمُؤْمِنٍ أَن يَقْتُلَ مُؤْمِنًا إِلَّا خَطَـًٔا وَمَن قَتَلَ مُؤْمِنًا خَطَـًٔا فَتَحْرِيرُ رَقَبَةٍ مُّؤْمِنَةٍ وَدِيَةٌ مُّسَلَّمَةٌ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦٓ إِلَّآ أَن يَصَّدَّقُوا۟ فَإِن كَانَ مِن قَوْمٍ عَدُوٍّ لَّكُمْ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ فَتَحْرِيرُ رَقَبَةٍ مُّؤْمِنَةٍ وَإِن كَانَ مِن قَوْمٍۭ بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَهُم مِّيثَـٰقٌ فَدِيَةٌ مُّسَلَّمَةٌ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ وَتَحْرِيرُ رَقَبَةٍ مُّؤْمِنَةٍ فَمَن لَّمْ يَجِدْ فَصِيَامُ شَهْرَيْنِ مُتَتَابِعَيْنِ تَوْبَةً مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًا ٩٢

[4:92] And no faithful person shall kill another faithful person unless by accident. And whoever kills a faithful person accidentally, shall expiate by freeing a faithful slave and by paying a demanded compensation to his family, unless they forfeit it as a charity. However, if the faithful person is from a people who are your enemies, then you shall expiate by freeing a faithful slave. And if he is from a people that you have a treaty with, then, he shall expiate by paying a demanded compensation to his family as well as freeing a faithful slave. However, if he cannot find one, then he shall fast two consecutive months as repentance to God. And God is All Knowing, All Wise.

وَمَن يَقْتُلْ مُؤْمِنًا مُّتَعَمِّدًا فَجَزَآؤُهُۥ جَهَنَّمُ خَـٰلِدًا فِيهَا وَغَضِبَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَلَعَنَهُۥ وَأَعَدَّ لَهُۥ عَذَابًا عَظِيمًا ٩٣

[4:93] Furthermore, whoever kills a faithful person intentionally, then his requital is Gehenna as an eternal abode and God is angry with him and He has cursed him, and He has promised him a tremendous suffering.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِذَا ضَرَبْتُمْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ فَتَبَيَّنُوا۟ وَلَا تَقُولُوا۟ لِمَنْ أَلْقَىٰٓ إِلَيْكُمُ ٱلسَّلَـٰمَ لَسْتَ مُؤْمِنًا تَبْتَغُونَ عَرَضَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا فَعِندَ ٱللَّهِ مَغَانِمُ كَثِيرَةٌ كَذَٰلِكَ كُنتُم مِّن قَبْلُ فَمَنَّ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْكُمْ فَتَبَيَّنُوٓا۟ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرًا ٩٤

[4:94] O you who have attained faith, when you fight in the cause of God you shall be absolutely sure and do not say to the one who offers you peace: "you are not a faithful person"; seeking the vanities of this worldly life, remember, there are plenty of treasures at God. So were you in the past, then God did you a favor and you became absolutely certain. Indeed God is Cognizant of everything you do.

لَّا يَسْتَوِى ٱلْقَـٰعِدُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ غَيْرُ أُو۟لِى ٱلضَّرَرِ وَٱلْمُجَـٰهِدُونَ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ بِأَمْوَٰلِهِمْ وَأَنفُسِهِمْ فَضَّلَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْمُجَـٰهِدِينَ بِأَمْوَٰلِهِمْ وَأَنفُسِهِمْ عَلَى ٱلْقَـٰعِدِينَ دَرَجَةً وَكُلًّا وَعَدَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْحُسْنَىٰ وَفَضَّلَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْمُجَـٰهِدِينَ عَلَى ٱلْقَـٰعِدِينَ أَجْرًا عَظِيمًا ٩٥

[4:95] Not equal are the believing sedentary - except those who have a disability - and those who strive in the cause of God with their money and themselves. God has elevated those who strive with their money and their lives over the sedentary in rank. And God has promised goodness for all of them. However, God has bestowed those who strive over the sedentary a great reward.

دَرَجَـٰتٍ مِّنْهُ وَمَغْفِرَةً وَرَحْمَةً وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ غَفُورًا رَّحِيمًا ٩٦

[4:96] Ranks from Him, forgiveness and mercy. And God is All Forgiving, All Merciful.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ تَوَفَّىٰهُمُ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ ظَالِمِىٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ قَالُوا۟ فِيمَ كُنتُمْ قَالُوا۟ كُنَّا مُسْتَضْعَفِينَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ قَالُوٓا۟ أَلَمْ تَكُنْ أَرْضُ ٱللَّهِ وَٰسِعَةً فَتُهَاجِرُوا۟ فِيهَا فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ مَأْوَىٰهُمْ جَهَنَّمُ وَسَآءَتْ مَصِيرًا ٩٧

[4:97] Surely those whom the angels terminate their lives while committing injustice against their own souls, they will ask what were you like? They respond; we were oppressed on the land. They ask, was not God's land ever expanding so that you could emigrate therein? Therefore, their abode is Gehenna. And a miserable abode.

إِلَّا ٱلْمُسْتَضْعَفِينَ مِنَ ٱلرِّجَالِ وَٱلنِّسَآءِ وَٱلْوِلْدَٰنِ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ حِيلَةً وَلَا يَهْتَدُونَ سَبِيلًا ٩٨

[4:98] Exempted are the oppressed amongst men, women and children who cannot afford any means and have no way out.

[4:99] As for these, God may pardon them. Moreover, God is Pardoner, All Forgiving.

وَمَن يُهَاجِرْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ يَجِدْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُرَٰغَمًا كَثِيرًا وَسَعَةً وَمَن يَخْرُجْ مِنۢ بَيْتِهِۦ مُهَاجِرًا إِلَى ٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ ثُمَّ يُدْرِكْهُ ٱلْمَوْتُ فَقَدْ وَقَعَ أَجْرُهُۥ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ غَفُورًا رَّحِيمًا ١٠٠

[4:100] And whoever emigrates in the cause of God, he will find many sanctuaries and vast riches on the land. And whoever leaves his home as an emigrant for the sake of God and His messenger, then when death catches up with him, he has certainly earned his reward with God. And God is All Forgiving, All Merciful.

وَإِذَا ضَرَبْتُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَلَيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ جُنَاحٌ أَن تَقْصُرُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ إِنْ خِفْتُمْ أَن يَفْتِنَكُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ إِنَّ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ كَانُوا۟ لَكُمْ عَدُوًّا مُّبِينًا ١٠١

[4:101] And when you travel throughout the land, then there is no blame on you to shorten your contact prayer, if you fear that the unfaithful may harm you. Surely, the unfaithful are your proven enemies.

وَإِذَا كُنتَ فِيهِمْ فَأَقَمْتَ لَهُمُ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ فَلْتَقُمْ طَآئِفَةٌ مِّنْهُم مَّعَكَ وَلْيَأْخُذُوٓا۟ أَسْلِحَتَهُمْ فَإِذَا سَجَدُوا۟ فَلْيَكُونُوا۟ مِن وَرَآئِكُمْ وَلْتَأْتِ طَآئِفَةٌ أُخْرَىٰ لَمْ يُصَلُّوا۟ فَلْيُصَلُّوا۟ مَعَكَ وَلْيَأْخُذُوا۟ حِذْرَهُمْ وَأَسْلِحَتَهُمْ وَدَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَوْ تَغْفُلُونَ عَنْ أَسْلِحَتِكُمْ وَأَمْتِعَتِكُمْ فَيَمِيلُونَ عَلَيْكُم مَّيْلَةً وَٰحِدَةً وَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ إِن كَانَ بِكُمْ أَذًى مِّن مَّطَرٍ أَوْ كُنتُم مَّرْضَىٰٓ أَن تَضَعُوٓا۟ أَسْلِحَتَكُمْ وَخُذُوا۟ حِذْرَكُمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ أَعَدَّ لِلْكَـٰفِرِينَ عَذَابًا مُّهِينًا ١٠٢

[4:102] And when you are amongst them, and you lead them in the contact prayer then let a group of them stand up to pray with you, the rest shall keep their weapons, so when you fall prostrate, they watch your back and the group who have not prayed, shall then come to pray with you and the others shall stand watch with their weapons. Those who have no faith would love to see you neglect your weapons and your equipment, so they can defeat you once and for all. Furthermore, you commit no error, if you are burdened by rain or an illness to lay down your weapons. However, you shall stand guard. Indeed, God promises the disbelievers a humiliating suffering.

فَإِذَا قَضَيْتُمُ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ فَٱذْكُرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ قِيَـٰمًا وَقُعُودًا وَعَلَىٰ جُنُوبِكُمْ فَإِذَا ٱطْمَأْنَنتُمْ فَأَقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ إِنَّ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ كَانَتْ عَلَى ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ كِتَـٰبًا مَّوْقُوتًا ١٠٣

[4:103] And when you finish your contact prayer, then you shall commemorate God while standing, sitting or lying on your side. And once you are secure, you shall continue upholding the contact prayer. Surely, contact prayer has been decreed upon the faithful at specific times.

وَلَا تَهِنُوا۟ فِى ٱبْتِغَآءِ ٱلْقَوْمِ إِن تَكُونُوا۟ تَأْلَمُونَ فَإِنَّهُمْ يَأْلَمُونَ كَمَا تَأْلَمُونَ وَتَرْجُونَ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا يَرْجُونَ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًا ١٠٤

[4:104] And you shall not show weakness in confronting other people. If you suffer any loss, then they suffer losses just like you do. Moreover, you are hopeful of God, while they have no hope. And God is All Knowing, All Wise.

إِنَّآ أَنزَلْنَآ إِلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ بِٱلْحَقِّ لِتَحْكُمَ بَيْنَ ٱلنَّاسِ بِمَآ أَرَىٰكَ ٱللَّهُ وَلَا تَكُن لِّلْخَآئِنِينَ خَصِيمًا ١٠٥

[4:105] Surely, We revealed this scripture to you truthfully in order to judge amongst the people with what God has shown you. Furthermore, do not show hostility towards the traitors.

[4:107] Furthermore, do not argue on behalf of those who have betrayed their souls. Surely, God does not love any betrayer, sinner.

[4:108] They fear people while they do not fear God, although He is with them when they concoct utterances of which He does not approve. Moreover, God is fully encompassing everything they do.

هَـٰٓأَنتُمْ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ جَـٰدَلْتُمْ عَنْهُمْ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا فَمَن يُجَـٰدِلُ ٱللَّهَ عَنْهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ أَم مَّن يَكُونُ عَلَيْهِمْ وَكِيلًا ١٠٩

[4:109] Here you are arguing on their behalf in this worldly life, who will then argue with God on their behalf on the Day of Resurrection? Who will be their advocate?

[4:110] And whoever commits an evil deed or commits injustice against his soul, then asks God for forgiveness, he will find God All Forgiving, All Merciful.

[4:111] And whoever earns a sin, then, indeed he has earned it for his own soul. And God is All Knowing, All Wise.

[4:112] And whoever earns a wrong or a sin, then accuses an innocent person thereof, he has indeed carried a load of falsehood and a proven sin.

وَلَوْلَا فَضْلُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْكَ وَرَحْمَتُهُۥ لَهَمَّت طَّآئِفَةٌ مِّنْهُمْ أَن يُضِلُّوكَ وَمَا يُضِلُّونَ إِلَّآ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَمَا يَضُرُّونَكَ مِن شَىْءٍ وَأَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ وَٱلْحِكْمَةَ وَعَلَّمَكَ مَا لَمْ تَكُن تَعْلَمُ وَكَانَ فَضْلُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْكَ عَظِيمًا ١١٣

[4:113] Furthermore, if it were not for God's bounty bestowed upon you and His Mercy, a group of them would have surely tried their best to mislead you; however, they did not mislead anyone except themselves. And they did not harm you in the least. Moreover, God has revealed to you the scripture and wisdom and has taught you what you never knew. And God has bestowed a tremendous bounty upon you.

لَّا خَيْرَ فِى كَثِيرٍ مِّن نَّجْوَىٰهُمْ إِلَّا مَنْ أَمَرَ بِصَدَقَةٍ أَوْ مَعْرُوفٍ أَوْ إِصْلَـٰحٍۭ بَيْنَ ٱلنَّاسِ وَمَن يَفْعَلْ ذَٰلِكَ ٱبْتِغَآءَ مَرْضَاتِ ٱللَّهِ فَسَوْفَ نُؤْتِيهِ أَجْرًا عَظِيمًا ١١٤

[4:114] There is no good in many of their secret meetings, unless they advocate charity or kindness or reconciliation amongst people. And whoever does this, seeking God's approval, then, We will soon grant him a tremendous reward.

وَمَن يُشَاقِقِ ٱلرَّسُولَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُ ٱلْهُدَىٰ وَيَتَّبِعْ غَيْرَ سَبِيلِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ نُوَلِّهِۦ مَا تَوَلَّىٰ وَنُصْلِهِۦ جَهَنَّمَ وَسَآءَتْ مَصِيرًا ١١٥

[4:115] And whoever opposes the messenger after guidance has been clearly shown to him and follows other than the path of the faithful, We will direct him to the path he has chosen and throw him in Gehenna. And what a miserable abode.

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَغْفِرُ أَن يُشْرَكَ بِهِۦ وَيَغْفِرُ مَا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَمَن يُشْرِكْ بِٱللَّهِ فَقَدْ ضَلَّ ضَلَـٰلًۢا بَعِيدًا ١١٦

[4:116] Indeed God does not forgive setting up a partner for Him and forgives lesser offenses for whomever He wills. Furthermore, whoever sets up partners for God has indeed strayed, far astray.

[4:117] They call upon females besides Him; in fact they call upon a rebellious devil.

[4:118] God has cursed him and he says I have indeed possessed a definite share of your servants.

وَلَأُضِلَّنَّهُمْ وَلَأُمَنِّيَنَّهُمْ وَلَـَٔامُرَنَّهُمْ فَلَيُبَتِّكُنَّ ءَاذَانَ ٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِ وَلَـَٔامُرَنَّهُمْ فَلَيُغَيِّرُنَّ خَلْقَ ٱللَّهِ وَمَن يَتَّخِذِ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنَ وَلِيًّا مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ فَقَدْ خَسِرَ خُسْرَانًا مُّبِينًا ١١٩

[4:119] And, I will mislead them and will tempt them and command them to mark the ears of livestock and I command them so that they change God's creation. And whoever takes Satan as an ally besides God then he has suffered a clear loss.

يَعِدُهُمْ وَيُمَنِّيهِمْ وَمَا يَعِدُهُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ إِلَّا غُرُورًا ١٢٠

[4:120] He promises them and tempts them. However, Satan does not promise them but a mirage.

أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ مَأْوَىٰهُمْ جَهَنَّمُ وَلَا يَجِدُونَ عَنْهَا مَحِيصًا ١٢١

[4:121] The abode for them is Gehenna and they will find no exit therefrom.

وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ سَنُدْخِلُهُمْ جَنَّـٰتٍ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ خَـٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ أَبَدًا وَعْدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقًّا وَمَنْ أَصْدَقُ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ قِيلًا ١٢٢

[4:122] However, as for those who have attained faith and led a righteous life, We will admit them into paradises with flowing streams beneath them, they abide therein eternally. God's promise is the truth. And whose utterance is more truthful than God's?

لَّيْسَ بِأَمَانِيِّكُمْ وَلَآ أَمَانِىِّ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ مَن يَعْمَلْ سُوٓءًا يُجْزَ بِهِۦ وَلَا يَجِدْ لَهُۥ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَلِيًّا وَلَا نَصِيرًا ١٢٣

[4:123] It is not according to your wishes or the wishes of the people of the scripture. The one who commits an evil deed will pay for it and will find no ally and helper besides God.

وَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ مِن ذَكَرٍ أَوْ أُنثَىٰ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ يَدْخُلُونَ ٱلْجَنَّةَ وَلَا يُظْلَمُونَ نَقِيرًا ١٢٤

[4:124] And whoever does righteous work be it male or female while faithful, then, these will enter the paradise, and will not suffer the least injustice.

وَمَنْ أَحْسَنُ دِينًا مِّمَّنْ أَسْلَمَ وَجْهَهُۥ لِلَّهِ وَهُوَ مُحْسِنٌ وَٱتَّبَعَ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ حَنِيفًا وَٱتَّخَذَ ٱللَّهُ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ خَلِيلًا ١٢٥

[4:125] And whose religion is better than the one who is at peace with God, a do-gooder who follows the Nation of Abraham, the monotheist? And God has taken Abraham as a friend.

[4:126] To God belongs everything in the vacua and everything within matter. And God is encompassing all things.

وَيَسْتَفْتُونَكَ فِى ٱلنِّسَآءِ قُلِ ٱللَّهُ يُفْتِيكُمْ فِيهِنَّ وَمَا يُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ فِى ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ فِى يَتَـٰمَى ٱلنِّسَآءِ ٱلَّـٰتِى لَا تُؤْتُونَهُنَّ مَا كُتِبَ لَهُنَّ وَتَرْغَبُونَ أَن تَنكِحُوهُنَّ وَٱلْمُسْتَضْعَفِينَ مِنَ ٱلْوِلْدَٰنِ وَأَن تَقُومُوا۟ لِلْيَتَـٰمَىٰ بِٱلْقِسْطِ وَمَا تَفْعَلُوا۟ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ بِهِۦ عَلِيمًا ١٢٧

[4:127] And they want to learn from you regarding women. Say, God enlightens you regarding them and what is recited to you from the scripture about the fatherless girls, those whom you did not give them what was decreed for them, while you wanted so much to marry them, and as for the oppressed children, you should treat the fatherless, justly. And whatever good you do, God knows all about it.

وَإِنِ ٱمْرَأَةٌ خَافَتْ مِنۢ بَعْلِهَا نُشُوزًا أَوْ إِعْرَاضًا فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْهِمَآ أَن يُصْلِحَا بَيْنَهُمَا صُلْحًا وَٱلصُّلْحُ خَيْرٌ وَأُحْضِرَتِ ٱلْأَنفُسُ ٱلشُّحَّ وَإِن تُحْسِنُوا۟ وَتَتَّقُوا۟ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرًا ١٢٨

[4:128] And if a woman fears oppression or desertion from her husband, there is no blame on the couple if they reconcile. And reconciliation is better. And selfishness is always present in the soul. Therefore, if you do well and maintain righteousness, then God is fully aware of everything you do.

وَلَن تَسْتَطِيعُوٓا۟ أَن تَعْدِلُوا۟ بَيْنَ ٱلنِّسَآءِ وَلَوْ حَرَصْتُمْ فَلَا تَمِيلُوا۟ كُلَّ ٱلْمَيْلِ فَتَذَرُوهَا كَٱلْمُعَلَّقَةِ وَإِن تُصْلِحُوا۟ وَتَتَّقُوا۟ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ غَفُورًا رَّحِيمًا ١٢٩

[4:129] And you cannot be equitable among your wives, in spite of all your efforts. Therefore, do not be so biased that you leave one hanging. If you reconcile and maintain righteousness, then God is indeed All Forgiving, All Merciful.

وَإِن يَتَفَرَّقَا يُغْنِ ٱللَّهُ كُلًّا مِّن سَعَتِهِۦ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ وَٰسِعًا حَكِيمًا ١٣٠

[4:130] If the couple separates, then God will enrich each of them from His Expanse. God is Expander, All Wise.

وَلِلَّهِ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَقَدْ وَصَّيْنَا ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ وَإِيَّاكُمْ أَنِ ٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَإِن تَكْفُرُوا۟ فَإِنَّ لِلَّهِ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ غَنِيًّا حَمِيدًا ١٣١

[4:131] And to God belongs everything in the vacua and everything within matter. And We decreed for those who received the scripture before you as well as yourselves that you shall fear God. And if you lose faith, then to God belongs everything in the vacua and everything in matter. And God is Rich, Praiseworthy.

وَلِلَّهِ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ وَكِيلًا ١٣٢

[4:132] To God belongs everything in the vacua and everything within matter. And God suffices as an Advocate.

[4:133] If He wills He will wipe you out O you people and bring in others. And God is All Powerful in doing such a thing.

مَّن كَانَ يُرِيدُ ثَوَابَ ٱلدُّنْيَا فَعِندَ ٱللَّهِ ثَوَابُ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ سَمِيعًۢا بَصِيرًا ١٣٤

[4:134] Whoever seeks the goods of this world shall pause, because at God there are the goods of this world as well as the Hereafter. And God is All Hearer, All Seer.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ كُونُوا۟ قَوَّٰمِينَ بِٱلْقِسْطِ شُهَدَآءَ لِلَّهِ وَلَوْ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِكُمْ أَوِ ٱلْوَٰلِدَيْنِ وَٱلْأَقْرَبِينَ إِن يَكُنْ غَنِيًّا أَوْ فَقِيرًا فَٱللَّهُ أَوْلَىٰ بِهِمَا فَلَا تَتَّبِعُوا۟ ٱلْهَوَىٰٓ أَن تَعْدِلُوا۟ وَإِن تَلْوُۥٓا۟ أَوْ تُعْرِضُوا۟ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرًا ١٣٥

[4:135] O you who have attained faith, stand up for justice when you are witnesses for God; be it against yourselves or the parents or the relatives. Be it rich or poor, God shall take priority over both of them. Therefore do not follow the desire of being biased. If you twist your tongue or disobey, then God is All Cognizant of everything you do.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ ءَامِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ وَٱلْكِتَـٰبِ ٱلَّذِى نَزَّلَ عَلَىٰ رَسُولِهِۦ وَٱلْكِتَـٰبِ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنزَلَ مِن قَبْلُ وَمَن يَكْفُرْ بِٱللَّهِ وَمَلَـٰٓئِكَتِهِۦ وَكُتُبِهِۦ وَرُسُلِهِۦ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرِ فَقَدْ ضَلَّ ضَلَـٰلًۢا بَعِيدًا ١٣٦

[4:136] O you, who have attained faith, believe in God and His messenger and the book He has revealed to His messenger and the book He has revealed previously. Furthermore, whoever disbelieves in God, His angels, His scriptures, His messengers and the Last Day, has then indeed strayed, far astray.

[4:137] Indeed those who attained faith, then lost faith, then attained faith then lost faith again then plunged deeper into infidelity; God will never forgive them and will not guide them to the path.

[4:138] Give the hypocrites the news that awaiting them is a painful suffering.

ٱلَّذِينَ يَتَّخِذُونَ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ أَوْلِيَآءَ مِن دُونِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَيَبْتَغُونَ عِندَهُمُ ٱلْعِزَّةَ فَإِنَّ ٱلْعِزَّةَ لِلَّهِ جَمِيعًا ١٣٩

[4:139] These are the ones who take the unfaithful as allies instead of the faithful. Do they seek dignity with them? They shall know that all dignity belongs to God.

وَقَدْ نَزَّلَ عَلَيْكُمْ فِى ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ أَنْ إِذَا سَمِعْتُمْ ءَايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ يُكْفَرُ بِهَا وَيُسْتَهْزَأُ بِهَا فَلَا تَقْعُدُوا۟ مَعَهُمْ حَتَّىٰ يَخُوضُوا۟ فِى حَدِيثٍ غَيْرِهِۦٓ إِنَّكُمْ إِذًا مِّثْلُهُمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ جَامِعُ ٱلْمُنَـٰفِقِينَ وَٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ فِى جَهَنَّمَ جَمِيعًا ١٤٠

[4:140] And indeed He has revealed to you in the scripture that once you hear God's proofs are being denied and ridiculed, then, you shall not sit with them unless they delve into other discussions. Otherwise, indeed you will be just like them. Surely God is the gatherer of the hypocrites and the unfaithful in Gehenna altogether.

ٱلَّذِينَ يَتَرَبَّصُونَ بِكُمْ فَإِن كَانَ لَكُمْ فَتْحٌ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ قَالُوٓا۟ أَلَمْ نَكُن مَّعَكُمْ وَإِن كَانَ لِلْكَـٰفِرِينَ نَصِيبٌ قَالُوٓا۟ أَلَمْ نَسْتَحْوِذْ عَلَيْكُمْ وَنَمْنَعْكُم مِّنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ فَٱللَّهُ يَحْكُمُ بَيْنَكُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ وَلَن يَجْعَلَ ٱللَّهُ لِلْكَـٰفِرِينَ عَلَى ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ سَبِيلًا ١٤١

[4:141] Those who have been dragging their feet, then once they see victory comes to you from God, they say, were we not with you? And if they see the unfaithful attain something, they say, did we not side with you and protected you from the faithful? Consequently, God will judge among them on the Day of Resurrection. And God will never prefer the unfaithful over the faithful in any way.

إِنَّ ٱلْمُنَـٰفِقِينَ يُخَـٰدِعُونَ ٱللَّهَ وَهُوَ خَـٰدِعُهُمْ وَإِذَا قَامُوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ قَامُوا۟ كُسَالَىٰ يُرَآءُونَ ٱلنَّاسَ وَلَا يَذْكُرُونَ ٱللَّهَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا ١٤٢

[4:142] Indeed, the hypocrites want to deceive God, however, He is the deceiver of them and when they stand up for the contact prayer, they stand up lazily and to show off for the people and they do not commemorate God except rarely.

مُّذَبْذَبِينَ بَيْنَ ذَٰلِكَ لَآ إِلَىٰ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ وَلَآ إِلَىٰ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ وَمَن يُضْلِلِ ٱللَّهُ فَلَن تَجِدَ لَهُۥ سَبِيلًا ١٤٣

[4:143] Wavering in between, neither belonging to these nor to those. Whomever God sends astray will never find his way.

[4:145] Surely the hypocrites are in the lowest pit of Hell and will never find a helper.

إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ تَابُوا۟ وَأَصْلَحُوا۟ وَٱعْتَصَمُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَأَخْلَصُوا۟ دِينَهُمْ لِلَّهِ فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ مَعَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَسَوْفَ يُؤْتِ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَجْرًا عَظِيمًا ١٤٦

[4:146] Exempted are those who repent and become righteous, and hold fast to God and devote their faith purely to God then they do belong with the faithful. Moreover, God will soon grant the believers a tremendous recompense.

مَّا يَفْعَلُ ٱللَّهُ بِعَذَابِكُمْ إِن شَكَرْتُمْ وَءَامَنتُمْ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ شَاكِرًا عَلِيمًا ١٤٧

[4:147] God will never make you suffer if you are grateful and have faith. And God is Appreciative, All Knowing.

[4:148] God does not love bad words, except if one has suffered an injustice. And God is All Hearer, All Knowing.

[4:149] If you declare a good deed or keep it a secret, or pardon a bad deed, then indeed God is Pardoner, All Powerful.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَكْفُرُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِۦ وَيُرِيدُونَ أَن يُفَرِّقُوا۟ بَيْنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِۦ وَيَقُولُونَ نُؤْمِنُ بِبَعْضٍ وَنَكْفُرُ بِبَعْضٍ وَيُرِيدُونَ أَن يَتَّخِذُوا۟ بَيْنَ ذَٰلِكَ سَبِيلًا ١٥٠

[4:150] Indeed, those who disbelieve in God and His messengers and wish to make distinction between God and His messengers and say we believe in some and reject some and take a path in between ,–

أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ حَقًّا وَأَعْتَدْنَا لِلْكَـٰفِرِينَ عَذَابًا مُّهِينًا ١٥١

[4:151] – are the true unfaithful. We promise the unfaithful a humiliating suffering.

وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِۦ وَلَمْ يُفَرِّقُوا۟ بَيْنَ أَحَدٍ مِّنْهُمْ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ سَوْفَ يُؤْتِيهِمْ أُجُورَهُمْ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ غَفُورًا رَّحِيمًا ١٥٢

[4:152] As for those who believe in God and His messengers and do not make any distinction among any one of them, We will soon grant them their recompense. And God is All Forgiving, All Merciful.

يَسْـَٔلُكَ أَهْلُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ أَن تُنَزِّلَ عَلَيْهِمْ كِتَـٰبًا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ فَقَدْ سَأَلُوا۟ مُوسَىٰٓ أَكْبَرَ مِن ذَٰلِكَ فَقَالُوٓا۟ أَرِنَا ٱللَّهَ جَهْرَةً فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّـٰعِقَةُ بِظُلْمِهِمْ ثُمَّ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ ٱلْعِجْلَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَتْهُمُ ٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتُ فَعَفَوْنَا عَن ذَٰلِكَ وَءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَىٰ سُلْطَـٰنًا مُّبِينًا ١٥٣

[4:153] The people of the scripture ask you to bring down a book from the sky. They asked Moses even greater than that, when they said, show us God physically; then, the lightning overwhelmed them because of their transgression. They then preferred the calf in spite of what came to them of proofs, thereafter We pardoned them regarding this matter. And We granted Moses a manifest authority.

وَرَفَعْنَا فَوْقَهُمُ ٱلطُّورَ بِمِيثَـٰقِهِمْ وَقُلْنَا لَهُمُ ٱدْخُلُوا۟ ٱلْبَابَ سُجَّدًا وَقُلْنَا لَهُمْ لَا تَعْدُوا۟ فِى ٱلسَّبْتِ وَأَخَذْنَا مِنْهُم مِّيثَـٰقًا غَلِيظًا ١٥٤

[4:154] Furthermore, We raised over them the mountain according to a covenant with them and We told them, enter the gate humbly and We told them not to transgress during the Sabbath, and We took a solemn covenant from them.

فَبِمَا نَقْضِهِم مِّيثَـٰقَهُمْ وَكُفْرِهِم بِـَٔايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَقَتْلِهِمُ ٱلْأَنۢبِيَآءَ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ وَقَوْلِهِمْ قُلُوبُنَا غُلْفٌۢ بَلْ طَبَعَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهَا بِكُفْرِهِمْ فَلَا يُؤْمِنُونَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا ١٥٥

[4:155] Thereafter, they broke their covenant because of their disbelief in God's proofs and their killing of the prophets unjustly and because of their utterance that our hearts are shielded. However, it is God who sealed them because of their disbelief; therefore, they can never attain faith except a few.

وَبِكُفْرِهِمْ وَقَوْلِهِمْ عَلَىٰ مَرْيَمَ بُهْتَـٰنًا عَظِيمًا ١٥٦

[4:156] And because of their disbelief and their statement about Mary, which was a gross fabrication.

وَقَوْلِهِمْ إِنَّا قَتَلْنَا ٱلْمَسِيحَ عِيسَى ٱبْنَ مَرْيَمَ رَسُولَ ٱللَّهِ وَمَا قَتَلُوهُ وَمَا صَلَبُوهُ وَلَـٰكِن شُبِّهَ لَهُمْ وَإِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱخْتَلَفُوا۟ فِيهِ لَفِى شَكٍّ مِّنْهُ مَا لَهُم بِهِۦ مِنْ عِلْمٍ إِلَّا ٱتِّبَاعَ ٱلظَّنِّ وَمَا قَتَلُوهُ يَقِينًۢا ١٥٧

[4:157] As well as their statement when they said, we surely killed the Healer, Jesus Son of Mary, messenger of God, however, they did not kill him and they did not crucify him but it was perceived by them as such. Furthermore, those who dispute in this matter are doubtful about it. They have no knowledge thereof except to follow conjecture. Moreover, for sure, they did not kill him.

بَل رَّفَعَهُ ٱللَّهُ إِلَيْهِ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَزِيزًا حَكِيمًا ١٥٨

[4:158] On the contrary, God raised him to Himself. And God is Almighty, All Wise.

وَإِن مِّنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ إِلَّا لَيُؤْمِنَنَّ بِهِۦ قَبْلَ مَوْتِهِۦ وَيَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ يَكُونُ عَلَيْهِمْ شَهِيدًا ١٥٩

[4:159] And one is not from the people of the scripture unless they indeed believed in him before his death. And on the Day of Resurrection, he will be a witness against them.

فَبِظُلْمٍ مِّنَ ٱلَّذِينَ هَادُوا۟ حَرَّمْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ طَيِّبَـٰتٍ أُحِلَّتْ لَهُمْ وَبِصَدِّهِمْ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ كَثِيرًا ١٦٠

[4:160] Therefore, because of the injustice committed by some of those who were Judeans, We prohibited for them the good things that were permitted for them and because of their barring of the path of God persistently.

وَأَخْذِهِمُ ٱلرِّبَوٰا۟ وَقَدْ نُهُوا۟ عَنْهُ وَأَكْلِهِمْ أَمْوَٰلَ ٱلنَّاسِ بِٱلْبَـٰطِلِ وَأَعْتَدْنَا لِلْكَـٰفِرِينَ مِنْهُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا ١٦١

[4:161] And they practiced usury, although they were enjoined therefrom and they consumed people's money illicitly. And We promise the unfaithful among them a painful suffering.

لَّـٰكِنِ ٱلرَّٰسِخُونَ فِى ٱلْعِلْمِ مِنْهُمْ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ مِن قَبْلِكَ وَٱلْمُقِيمِينَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَٱلْمُؤْتُونَ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرِ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ سَنُؤْتِيهِمْ أَجْرًا عَظِيمًا ١٦٢

[4:162] However, the well founded in knowledge amongst them and the faithful believe in what is revealed to you and what was revealed before you. Moreover, they uphold the contact prayer and give the cleansing charity and believe in God and the Last Day, as for these, We will soon grant them a tremendous recompense.

إِنَّآ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْكَ كَمَآ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ نُوحٍ وَٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ وَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَإِسْمَـٰعِيلَ وَإِسْحَـٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ وَٱلْأَسْبَاطِ وَعِيسَىٰ وَأَيُّوبَ وَيُونُسَ وَهَـٰرُونَ وَسُلَيْمَـٰنَ وَءَاتَيْنَا دَاوُۥدَ زَبُورًا ١٦٣

[4:163] We surely inspired you as We inspired Noah and the prophets after him. And We inspired Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, the tribes, Jesus, Job, Jonah, Aaron and Solomon. And We gave David the Psalms-

وَرُسُلًا قَدْ قَصَصْنَـٰهُمْ عَلَيْكَ مِن قَبْلُ وَرُسُلًا لَّمْ نَقْصُصْهُمْ عَلَيْكَ وَكَلَّمَ ٱللَّهُ مُوسَىٰ تَكْلِيمًا ١٦٤

[4:164] -as well as other messengers whom We narrated their history to you previously and messengers We did not narrate their history to you. And God communicated to Moses verbally.

رُّسُلًا مُّبَشِّرِينَ وَمُنذِرِينَ لِئَلَّا يَكُونَ لِلنَّاسِ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ حُجَّةٌۢ بَعْدَ ٱلرُّسُلِ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَزِيزًا حَكِيمًا ١٦٥

[4:165] Messengers who are bearers of good news as well as warners, so the people will have no excuse for God after receiving all these messengers. And God is Almighty, All Wise.

لَّـٰكِنِ ٱللَّهُ يَشْهَدُ بِمَآ أَنزَلَ إِلَيْكَ أَنزَلَهُۥ بِعِلْمِهِۦ وَٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ يَشْهَدُونَ وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ شَهِيدًا ١٦٦

[4:166] However, God witnesses what He reveals to you. He reveals it according to His knowledge. The angels witness it as well. However, God suffices as a witness.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَصَدُّوا۟ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ قَدْ ضَلُّوا۟ ضَلَـٰلًۢا بَعِيدًا ١٦٧

[4:167] Indeed those who had no faith and repelled from the path of God, have strayed, far astray.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَظَلَمُوا۟ لَمْ يَكُنِ ٱللَّهُ لِيَغْفِرَ لَهُمْ وَلَا لِيَهْدِيَهُمْ طَرِيقًا ١٦٨

[4:168] Indeed those who had no faith and committed injustice, God will never forgive them and will never guide them to any path,-

إِلَّا طَرِيقَ جَهَنَّمَ خَـٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ أَبَدًا وَكَانَ ذَٰلِكَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ يَسِيرًا ١٦٩

[4:169] -except to the path of Gehenna, wherein they abide forever. And this is easy for God to do.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ قَدْ جَآءَكُمُ ٱلرَّسُولُ بِٱلْحَقِّ مِن رَّبِّكُمْ فَـَٔامِنُوا۟ خَيْرًا لَّكُمْ وَإِن تَكْفُرُوا۟ فَإِنَّ لِلَّهِ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًا ١٧٠

[4:170] O you people, a messenger has come to you truthfully from your Lord, therefore, you shall believe; it is better for you. However, if you disbelieve, then to God belongs everything in the vacua and everything within matter. And God is All Knowing, All Wise.

يَـٰٓأَهْلَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ لَا تَغْلُوا۟ فِى دِينِكُمْ وَلَا تَقُولُوا۟ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ إِلَّا ٱلْحَقَّ إِنَّمَا ٱلْمَسِيحُ عِيسَى ٱبْنُ مَرْيَمَ رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ وَكَلِمَتُهُۥٓ أَلْقَىٰهَآ إِلَىٰ مَرْيَمَ وَرُوحٌ مِّنْهُ فَـَٔامِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِۦ وَلَا تَقُولُوا۟ ثَلَـٰثَةٌ ٱنتَهُوا۟ خَيْرًا لَّكُمْ إِنَّمَا ٱللَّهُ إِلَـٰهٌ وَٰحِدٌ سُبْحَـٰنَهُۥٓ أَن يَكُونَ لَهُۥ وَلَدٌ لَّهُۥ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ وَكِيلًا ١٧١

[4:171] O people of the scripture do not boast about your religion and do not say about God except the truth. Indeed the Healer, Jesus, Son of Mary was no more than a messenger from God and His word that He inspired to Mary and a spirit from Him. Therefore, you shall believe in God and His messengers, and do not say trinity. You shall stop for your own good. Indeed God is one god, be He glorified much too high to have a son, to Him belongs everything in the vacua and everything within matter. And God suffices as an Advocate.

لَّن يَسْتَنكِفَ ٱلْمَسِيحُ أَن يَكُونَ عَبْدًا لِّلَّهِ وَلَا ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ ٱلْمُقَرَّبُونَ وَمَن يَسْتَنكِفْ عَنْ عِبَادَتِهِۦ وَيَسْتَكْبِرْ فَسَيَحْشُرُهُمْ إِلَيْهِ جَمِيعًا ١٧٢

[4:172] The Healer would never refuse to be a servant of God and neither the closest angels. Furthermore, whoever refuses serving Him and turns arrogant, then, He will summon them all before Him.

فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ فَيُوَفِّيهِمْ أُجُورَهُمْ وَيَزِيدُهُم مِّن فَضْلِهِۦ وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسْتَنكَفُوا۟ وَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ فَيُعَذِّبُهُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا وَلَا يَجِدُونَ لَهُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَلِيًّا وَلَا نَصِيرًا ١٧٣

[4:173] As for those who have attained faith and lead a righteous life, He will then give them their recompense and increase for them from His bounty. However, those who refuse and turn arrogant, He will then punish them, a painful punishment and they will not find besides God any ally or a helper.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ قَدْ جَآءَكُم بُرْهَـٰنٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَأَنزَلْنَآ إِلَيْكُمْ نُورًا مُّبِينًا ١٧٤

[4:174] O you people, indeed a proof has come to you from your Lord, and We have revealed to you a proven enlightenment.

فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱعْتَصَمُوا۟ بِهِۦ فَسَيُدْخِلُهُمْ فِى رَحْمَةٍ مِّنْهُ وَفَضْلٍ وَيَهْدِيهِمْ إِلَيْهِ صِرَٰطًا مُّسْتَقِيمًا ١٧٥

[4:175] As for those who have faith in God and hold fast to Him, He will then admit them into a mercy from Him as well as a bounty and He will guide them to Himself through a straight path.

يَسْتَفْتُونَكَ قُلِ ٱللَّهُ يُفْتِيكُمْ فِى ٱلْكَلَـٰلَةِ إِنِ ٱمْرُؤٌا۟ هَلَكَ لَيْسَ لَهُۥ وَلَدٌ وَلَهُۥٓ أُخْتٌ فَلَهَا نِصْفُ مَا تَرَكَ وَهُوَ يَرِثُهَآ إِن لَّمْ يَكُن لَّهَا وَلَدٌ فَإِن كَانَتَا ٱثْنَتَيْنِ فَلَهُمَا ٱلثُّلُثَانِ مِمَّا تَرَكَ وَإِن كَانُوٓا۟ إِخْوَةً رِّجَالًا وَنِسَآءً فَلِلذَّكَرِ مِثْلُ حَظِّ ٱلْأُنثَيَيْنِ يُبَيِّنُ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمْ أَن تَضِلُّوا۟ وَٱللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَلِيمٌۢ ١٧٦

[4:176] They wish to learn from you, say God enlightens you regarding the loner. If a man dies and has no children and leaves a sister, she receives half of what he leaves behind. However, he receives all if she does not have any children. If there are two females, then they share two-thirds of what he leaves behind. And if there were a male and female, then the male shall enjoy twice that of the female. God enlightens you otherwise you would go astray. Moreover, God is All Knowing about all things.
