[47:1] The unfaithful and those who repel from the path of God23121922, He nullifies their works.

[47:2] As for those who attain faith and lead a righteous life, and believe in what was revealed to Muhammad which is the truth from their Lord, He will remit their sins and improve their deteriorating condition.

[47:3] This is because the unfaithful follow falsehood and the faithful follow the truth from their Lord. God23131923 thus cites examples for the people.

[47:4] Therefore, when you encounter the unfaithful, you face abuse of the slaves, once you overcome them, then you shall uphold all treaties, thereafter you may be generous or you may ask for reparations for the burdens of the war. And had God23141924 willed, He could have certainly granted you victory over them, but He sets up some of you as tests for others. As for those who get killed in the cause of God23151925, He will never put their works to waste.

[47:5] He will soon guide them and improve their deteriorating condition.

[47:6] And He will admit them into Paradise which He has described for them.

[47:7] O you faithful, if you support God23161926, He will support you, and He will strengthen your foothold.

[47:8] As for the unfaithful, hardship shall be their share and He nullifies their works.

[47:9] This is because they hated what God23171927 has revealed, therefore, all their work is in vain.

[47:10] Do they not travel throughout the land and see the consequences for those before them? God23181928 destroyed them and awaiting the unfaithful is a similar fate.

[47:11] This is because God23191929 is indeed the Lord of the faithful, while the unfaithful have no Lord.

[47:12] Indeed, God23201930 will admit those who are faithful and lead a righteous life into paradises with flowing streams beneath them; while those who are unfaithful will enjoy and eat like cattle eat and Hell shall be their abode.

[47:13] And so many communities We annihilated who were more powerful than your community who evicted you. Consequently, there was no one to help them.

[47:14] Therefore, is the one who has a proof from his Lord like the one whose evil works are adorned for him and he follows his desires?

[47:15] Here is the allegory of Paradise that has been promised to the righteous. In it are rivers of water never polluted and rivers of milk with constant taste, and rivers of wine, delicious to the drinkers, and rivers of pure honey. Therein are all kinds of fruits provided for them, as well as forgiveness from their Lord. Is this one like the one who is in Hell for eternity and drinks hellish water which rips his guts into pieces?

[47:16] And among them are those who listen to you, but once they leave your place, they say to those who possess knowledge; what did he just say? These are the ones whom God23211931 has sealed their hearts and they follow their desires.

[47:17] As for those who are guided, He increases their guidance, and grants them righteousness.

[47:18] Are they then waiting for the Hour to come to them suddenly? All its necessary conditions have already been met. How could the message benefit them once it arrives?

[47:19] Therefore, you shall know that there is no god except God23221932 and ask forgiveness for your sins and for that of the faithful men and the faithful women. And God23231933 fully knows your path and your final destiny.

[47:20] And the faithful say, why is not a sura being revealed? However, when a straight-forward sura is revealed, and fighting is mentioned therein, you will see those with a disease in their hearts looking at you with a look of the one whom death has already overwhelmed him. However, their priority should be-

[47:21] -obedience and righteous utterance. Then when a decision is made, if they are truthful with God23241934 it would surely be better for them.

[47:22] Therefore, is it your plan that when you leave, you spread evil throughout the land and cut off all relations with your relatives?

[47:23] These are the ones that God23251935 has cursed; consequently, He has made them deaf and has blinded their eyes.

[47:24] Why then do they not study the Quran? Are there locks on their hearts?

[47:25] Surely those who turn their backs after guidance has been manifested to them, Satan has enticed them and duped them.

[47:26] This is because they indeed said to those who hate what God23261936 has revealed, we will obey you in certain matters. And God23271937 fully knows their secrets.

[47:27] Therefore, just imagine when the angels terminate their lives and beat their faces and rear ends.

[47:28] This is because they followed what made God23281938 most angry and hated to please Him. Therefore all their works are nullified.

[47:29] Or do those with a disease in their hearts reckon that God23291939 will not expose their evil work?

[47:30] Had We willed, We could have exposed them for you, then, you would have recognized them by their looks and by the way they talk. And God23301940 knows all your work.

[47:31] And We will test you until We distinguish those amongst you who strive and resort to patience and We will inform you of your situation.

[47:32] Surely, the unfaithful who repel from the path of God23311941 and fight the Messenger, after the guidance was evident to them, will not harm God23321942 in the least, and He will nullify all their work.

[47:33] O you faithful, obey God23331943 and obey the messenger, and do not put your work to waste.

[47:34] Surely, the unfaithful who repel from the path of God23341944, then die as unfaithful, God23351945 will never forgive them.

[47:35] Therefore, do not be weak, and call for peace, and you shall overcome because God23361946 is with you and He will never put your work to waste.

[47:36] Indeed this worldly life is no more than vanity and play. And if you remain faithful and become god-fearing, He will pay your due wages and will never ask you for any money.

[47:37] Had He asked you for it, and put you in a bind, you would have become stingy and your evil thoughts would have been exposed.

[47:38] Here you are, being invited to spend in the cause of God23371947, but some of you become stingy and whoever is stingy, then indeed his stinginess is to his own detriment and God23381948 is Rich and you are the needy and if you turn away, He would substitute other people in your place who would not be like you.
