[60:1] O you faithful; do not take My enemies and your enemies as friends, extending friendship to them although they have disbelieved in what you have received of the truth; they evict the messenger and you just because you have faith in God25191640 your Lord and because you set out to strive in My cause and to seek My approval.  You keep your love for them a secret, while I know what you hide and declare. And whoever does this from amongst you then he has strayed off the even path.

[60:2] If they achieve the upper hand over you, they turn into your enemies and they open up their hands and their tongues to persecute you and if you lose faith they would love you. 

[60:3] Neither your relatives nor your children will be of any use to you. On the Day of Resurrection, He will judge amongst you. And God25201641 sees all that you do. 

[60:4] There is a good example for you in Abraham and those with him, when they said to their people, we indeed disown you and what you worship besides God25211642, we reject you, and there shall be animosity and hatred between us continuously, until you believe in God25221643 alone.  However, not a good example was Abraham's promise to his father that I will ask forgiveness for you but I do not possess any power in the least at God25231644. Our Lord in You we trust and to You we repent and to You is our final destiny. 

[60:5] Our Lord, do not make us a test for the unfaithful and forgive us, our Lord, indeed You are The Almighty, The All Wise.

[60:6] In them, there is indeed a good example for you and for those who seek God25241645 and the Last Day. However if anyone turns away, then God25251646 is in no need, Praiseworthy.

[60:7] Perhaps, God25261647 will establish between you and those who were your enemies love. And God25271648 is All Powerful. And God25281649 is All Forgiving, All Merciful.

[60:8] God25291650 does not forbid you from being kind and equitable with those who do not fight you because of the faith and do not evict you from your homes. Indeed God25301651 loves those who are equitable.

[60:9] God25311652 only forbids you from extending friendship to those who fight you because of the faith, and evict you from your homes and band together in order to banish you.  And whoever extends friendship to them, then, these are the unjust.

[60:10] O you faithful, when faithful, emigrating women come to you, you shall test them. God25321653 knows best of their faith.  Once you establish that they are faithful, then, do not send them back to the unfaithful. They are not lawful for the unfaithful, nor are they lawful for them. However, you shall pay the unfaithful what they have spent on them.  And you will commit no error if you marry them as long as you pay their due wages.  And do not hold on to the guardianship of unfaithful women; ask for what you have spent on them, as the unfaithful ask for what they have spent on the women. This is God25331654's command, He judges amongst you. And God25341655 is All Knowledgeable, All Wise.

[60:11] And if any of your wives deserts you for the unfaithful, then take turns to pay to those whose wives have deserted them the equivalent of what they had spent on them. And you shall fear God25351656, in whom you have faith.

[60:12] O you Prophet, when faithful women come to you to pledge allegiance to you, professing that they will not set up anything as a partner for God25361657 nor will they steal, nor will they commit adultery, nor will they kill their children, nor will they attribute a lie to someone, be it obvious or hidden, nor will they disobey your righteous orders, then you shall accept their pledge and ask God25371658 for forgiveness on their behalf. Indeed, God25381659 is All Forgiving, All Merciful.

[60:13] O you faithful; do not befriend people with whom God25391660 is angry, they have totally lost hope in the Hereafter, just like the unfaithful who despaired regarding those who are in graves.
