Sura 63: Al-Munāfiqūn (The Hypocrites)

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the name of God, The All Gracious, The All Merciful

إِذَا جَآءَكَ ٱلْمُنَـٰفِقُونَ قَالُوا۟ نَشْهَدُ إِنَّكَ لَرَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ25692200 وَٱللَّهُ25702201 يَعْلَمُ إِنَّكَ لَرَسُولُهُۥ وَٱللَّهُ25712202 يَشْهَدُ إِنَّ ٱلْمُنَـٰفِقِينَ لَكَـٰذِبُونَ ١
[63:1] When the hypocrites come to you, they insist upon saying, we bear witness that you are indeed the messenger of God25692200. And God25702201 knows that you are indeed His messenger, and God25712202 bears witness that the hypocrites are surely liars.

ٱتَّخَذُوٓا۟ أَيْمَـٰنَهُمْ جُنَّةً فَصَدُّوا۟ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ25722203 إِنَّهُمْ سَآءَ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ ٢
[63:2] They take their oaths as a mask, they thus repel from the path of God25722203. Evil indeed is what they do.

ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ ءَامَنُوا۟ ثُمَّ كَفَرُوا۟ فَطُبِعَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ فَهُمْ لَا يَفْقَهُونَ ٣
[63:3] This is because they believed, then they disbelieved, therefore their hearts were sealed, consequently they cannot understand.

وَإِذَا رَأَيْتَهُمْ تُعْجِبُكَ أَجْسَامُهُمْ وَإِن يَقُولُوا۟ تَسْمَعْ لِقَوْلِهِمْ كَأَنَّهُمْ خُشُبٌ مُّسَنَّدَةٌ يَحْسَبُونَ كُلَّ صَيْحَةٍ عَلَيْهِمْ هُمُ ٱلْعَدُوُّ فَٱحْذَرْهُمْ قَـٰتَلَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ25732204 أَنَّىٰ يُؤْفَكُونَ ٤
[63:4] And when you see them, you may be impressed by their looks and when they talk they may make a lot of sense. They think every call is meant for them. They are enemies, you shall therefore avoid them. God25732204 has condemned them, they have totally deviated.

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ تَعَالَوْا۟ يَسْتَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ25742205 لَوَّوْا۟ رُءُوسَهُمْ وَرَأَيْتَهُمْ يَصُدُّونَ وَهُم مُّسْتَكْبِرُونَ ٥
[63:5] And when they are told come let God25742205's messenger ask forgiveness on your behalf, they turn their heads and you see them repel others and behave arrogantly.

سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْهِمْ أَسْتَغْفَرْتَ لَهُمْ أَمْ لَمْ تَسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ لَن يَغْفِرَ ٱللَّهُ25752206 لَهُمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ25762207 لَا يَهْدِى ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلْفَـٰسِقِينَ ٦
[63:6] It is the same for them whether you ask forgiveness on their behalf or not, God25752206 will never forgive them. Surely God25762207 does not guide the wicked people.

هُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ لَا تُنفِقُوا۟ عَلَىٰ مَنْ عِندَ رَسُولِ ٱللَّهِ25772208 حَتَّىٰ يَنفَضُّوا۟ وَلِلَّهِ25782209 خَزَآئِنُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَـٰكِنَّ ٱلْمُنَـٰفِقِينَ لَا يَفْقَهُونَ ٧
[63:7] They are the ones who say; do not spend anything on those who are standing by God25772208's messenger until they disperse. However, to God25782209 belongs the treasures of the vacua and matter; but the hypocrites do not understand.

يَقُولُونَ لَئِن رَّجَعْنَآ إِلَى ٱلْمَدِينَةِ لَيُخْرِجَنَّ ٱلْأَعَزُّ مِنْهَا ٱلْأَذَلَّ وَلِلَّهِ25792210 ٱلْعِزَّةُ وَلِرَسُولِهِۦ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَلَـٰكِنَّ ٱلْمُنَـٰفِقِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ ٨
[63:8] They say; if we return to Medina, surely the mighty therein will definitely expel the despondent. However, they do not realize that all dignity belongs to God25792210 and His messenger, and to the faithful; this is because the hypocrites never learn.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تُلْهِكُمْ أَمْوَٰلُكُمْ وَلَآ أَوْلَـٰدُكُمْ عَن ذِكْرِ ٱللَّهِ25802211 وَمَن يَفْعَلْ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْخَـٰسِرُونَ ٩
[63:9] O you faithful, do not let your money and your children divert you from commemorating God25802211. And those who do so, then they are the real losers.

وَأَنفِقُوا۟ مِن مَّا رَزَقْنَـٰكُم مِّن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِىَ أَحَدَكُمُ ٱلْمَوْتُ فَيَقُولَ رَبِّ لَوْلَآ أَخَّرْتَنِىٓ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ قَرِيبٍ فَأَصَّدَّقَ وَأَكُن مِّنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ ١٠
[63:10] And you shall spend from what We have provided for you before death comes to any of you, then he would say, O Lord, had You given me a little more time, I would have been charitable and I would have been one of the righteous.

وَلَن يُؤَخِّرَ ٱللَّهُ25812212 نَفْسًا إِذَا جَآءَ أَجَلُهَا وَٱللَّهُ25822213 خَبِيرٌۢ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ ١١
[63:11] But God25812212 will never extend the interim for any soul. And God25822213 is fully Cognizant of everything you do.
