Sura 76: Al-Insān (The Human Being)

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the name of God, The All Gracious, The All Merciful

هَلْ أَتَىٰ عَلَى ٱلْإِنسَـٰنِ حِينٌ مِّنَ ٱلدَّهْرِ لَمْ يَكُن شَيْـًٔا مَّذْكُورًا ١
[76:1] Has it ever occurred to the human being that at one time he was nothing to be mentioned?

إِنَّا خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ أَمْشَاجٍ نَّبْتَلِيهِ فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُ سَمِيعًۢا بَصِيرًا ٢
[76:2] We indeed created the human being from a tiny drop of liquid mixture so We may test him, then We made him hearer, seer.

إِنَّا هَدَيْنَـٰهُ ٱلسَّبِيلَ إِمَّا شَاكِرًا وَإِمَّا كَفُورًا ٣
[76:3] We indeed guided him to the path, no matter if he is appreciative or unappreciative.

إِنَّآ أَعْتَدْنَا لِلْكَـٰفِرِينَ سَلَـٰسِلَا۟ وَأَغْلَـٰلًا وَسَعِيرًا ٤
[76:4] We have surely prepared for the unfaithful, chains, shackles, and a raging Inferno.

إِنَّ ٱلْأَبْرَارَ يَشْرَبُونَ مِن كَأْسٍ كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا كَافُورًا ٥
[76:5] As for the righteous, they will drink from a cup full of nectar.

عَيْنًا يَشْرَبُ بِهَا عِبَادُ ٱللَّهِ26731983 يُفَجِّرُونَهَا تَفْجِيرًا ٦
[76:6] A spring where God26731983's servants drink from, it will gush out forever.

يُوفُونَ بِٱلنَّذْرِ وَيَخَافُونَ يَوْمًا كَانَ شَرُّهُۥ مُسْتَطِيرًا ٧
[76:7] They keep their vows, and they fear a day whose suffering will be overwhelming.

وَيُطْعِمُونَ ٱلطَّعَامَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِۦ مِسْكِينًا وَيَتِيمًا وَأَسِيرًا ٨
[76:8] And they feed the food that they love to the needy and the fatherless and the captive.

إِنَّمَا نُطْعِمُكُمْ لِوَجْهِ ٱللَّهِ26741984 لَا نُرِيدُ مِنكُمْ جَزَآءً وَلَا شُكُورًا ٩
[76:9] We only feed you for the sake of God26741984; we do not want anything in return or your thanks.

إِنَّا نَخَافُ مِن رَّبِّنَا يَوْمًا عَبُوسًا قَمْطَرِيرًا ١٠
[76:10] We really fear our Lord on the day that is unpleasant and troublesome.

فَوَقَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ26751985 شَرَّ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْيَوْمِ وَلَقَّىٰهُمْ نَضْرَةً وَسُرُورًا ١١
[76:11] Therefore, God26751985 has spared them the evil of that day and has welcomed them into victory and joy.

وَجَزَىٰهُم بِمَا صَبَرُوا۟ جَنَّةً وَحَرِيرًا ١٢
[76:12] And their reward because of their steadfastness will be paradise and silk.

مُّتَّكِـِٔينَ فِيهَا عَلَى ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ لَا يَرَوْنَ فِيهَا شَمْسًا وَلَا زَمْهَرِيرًا ١٣
[76:13] Relaxing therein on luxurious furnishings, they see neither the heat of the sun nor the bitter cold.

وَدَانِيَةً عَلَيْهِمْ ظِلَـٰلُهَا وَذُلِّلَتْ قُطُوفُهَا تَذْلِيلًا ١٤
[76:14] And the shades are extended over them and the fruits will be within reach.

وَيُطَافُ عَلَيْهِم بِـَٔانِيَةٍ مِّن فِضَّةٍ وَأَكْوَابٍ كَانَتْ قَوَارِيرَا۠ ١٥
[76:15] They will be served drinks in silver cups and crystal pitchers.

قَوَارِيرَا۟ مِن فِضَّةٍ قَدَّرُوهَا تَقْدِيرًا ١٦
[76:16] Crystal clear, although made of silver, for He has designed it perfectly.

وَيُسْقَوْنَ فِيهَا كَأْسًا كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا زَنجَبِيلًا ١٧
[76:17] And they will be served drinks therein in cups mixed with nectar.

عَيْنًا فِيهَا تُسَمَّىٰ سَلْسَبِيلًا ١٨
[76:18] A spring therein, called Salsabeel.

وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَٰنٌ مُّخَلَّدُونَ إِذَا رَأَيْتَهُمْ حَسِبْتَهُمْ لُؤْلُؤًا مَّنثُورًا ١٩
[76:19] And mingling with them will be immortal children whom when you look at them, you will think that they are scattered pearls.

وَإِذَا رَأَيْتَ ثَمَّ رَأَيْتَ نَعِيمًا وَمُلْكًا كَبِيرًا ٢٠
[76:20] And when you look, then you see bliss and a magnificent kingdom.

عَـٰلِيَهُمْ ثِيَابُ سُندُسٍ خُضْرٌ وَإِسْتَبْرَقٌ وَحُلُّوٓا۟ أَسَاوِرَ مِن فِضَّةٍ وَسَقَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ شَرَابًا طَهُورًا ٢١
[76:21] They will have clothes of green velvet, satin, and they will be adorned with bracelets of silver; and their Lord will provide them pure drinks.

إِنَّ هَـٰذَا كَانَ لَكُمْ جَزَآءً وَكَانَ سَعْيُكُم مَّشْكُورًا ٢٢
[76:22] Indeed, this is your reward because your hard work was appreciated.

إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ تَنزِيلًا ٢٣
[76:23] We have surely revealed this Quran to you, a special revelation.

فَٱصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ وَلَا تُطِعْ مِنْهُمْ ءَاثِمًا أَوْ كَفُورًا ٢٤
[76:24] Therefore, be patient for your Lord's command and do not obey every sinner or unfaithful from amongst them.

وَٱذْكُرِ ٱسْمَ رَبِّكَ بُكْرَةً وَأَصِيلًا ٢٥
[76:25] And remember the name of your Lord day and night.

وَمِنَ ٱلَّيْلِ فَٱسْجُدْ لَهُۥ وَسَبِّحْهُ لَيْلًا طَوِيلًا ٢٦
[76:26] And during the night, prostrate to Him; and glorify Him frequently at night.

إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ يُحِبُّونَ ٱلْعَاجِلَةَ وَيَذَرُونَ وَرَآءَهُمْ يَوْمًا ثَقِيلًا ٢٧
[76:27] Indeed they are in love with this fleeting life and are forgetting the difficult day that is awaiting them.

نَّحْنُ خَلَقْنَـٰهُمْ وَشَدَدْنَآ أَسْرَهُمْ وَإِذَا شِئْنَا بَدَّلْنَآ أَمْثَـٰلَهُمْ تَبْدِيلًا ٢٨
[76:28] We have created them, and We have made them strong; but, when We will, We shall substitute them with others that are similar.

إِنَّ هَـٰذِهِۦ تَذْكِرَةٌ فَمَن شَآءَ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ سَبِيلًا ٢٩
[76:29] Indeed, this is a reminder; therefore, whoever wills then let him take a path to his Lord.

وَمَا تَشَآءُونَ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُ26761986 إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ26771987 كَانَ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًا ٣٠
[76:30] And you never will unless it is according to God26761986's will. Indeed God26771987 is All Knowing, All Wise.

يُدْخِلُ مَن يَشَآءُ فِى رَحْمَتِهِۦ وَٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ أَعَدَّ لَهُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًۢا ٣١
[76:31] He will admit into His Mercy whomever He wills; and as for the transgressors, He has promised them a painful suffering.
