[8:1] They ask you about voluntary work. Say; voluntary work shall be performed for the sake of God10181253 and the messenger. Therefore, fear God10191254 and establish a peaceful relation among yourselves and obey God10201255 and His messenger if you are faithful.

[8:2] Indeed the faithful are those whom when God10211256 is mentioned, their hearts tremble and when His Signs are recited to them, their faith increases and they put their trust in their Lord.

[8:3] Those who uphold the contact prayer and from what We provide for them, they give.

[8:4] These are indeed the true faithful. They possess ranks at their Lord as well as forgiveness and a generous provision.

[8:5] Thus your Lord brought you out of your homes truthfully, while surely some of the faithful were reluctant.

[8:6] They argued with you about the truth although it was self-evident, as though they were being propelled towards death right before their eyes.

[8:7] And when God10221257 promised you that you shall face the stronger of the two groups, you wished to be facing the weaker ones, however, God10231258 willed for the truth to prevail and to cut off the influence of the unfaithful.

[8:8] This is in order for the truth to prevail and the falsehood to vanish despite the displeasure of the guilty.

[8:9] When you implore your Lord He immediately responds to you, as indeed I am helping you with one thousand angels in rows.

[8:10] And God10241259 arranged this as good news in order to reassure your hearts. Victory only belongs to God10251260. Certainly God10261261 is Almighty, All Wise.

[8:11] Then you fell asleep in full security provided by Him, and He showered you with rain from the sky in order to cleanse you. And He removed the evil of Satan from you and He unified your hearts and strengthened your foothold.

[8:12] When your Lord inspired the angels that I am with you, therefore, you shall strengthen those who have faith. I will soon throw terror into the hearts of those who have no faith, therefore, you shall disrupt all communications, and you shall disrupt every means.

[8:13] This is because they indeed opposed God10271262 and His messenger. And whoever opposes God10281263 and His messenger shall expect that indeed God10291264 exacts the severest consequence.

[8:14] Such is your destiny, therefore taste it and indeed reserved for the unfaithful is the agony of Hell.

[8:15] O you who have faith when you meet the unfaithful who have mobilized against you, you shall not turn back and flee.

[8:16] And whoever turns his back on that day, except to get ready for combat or join his group, has incurred anger from God10301265 and his abode is Gehenna; and what a miserable abode.

[8:17] Therefore, you did not kill them; on the contrary, God10311266 had already damned them. And you did not throw, when you threw, it was God10321267 who threw. And this is in order to test the faithful with the best of tests. Indeed God10331268 is All Hearing All Knowing.

[8:18] Such is your destiny and for sure God10341269 nullifies the scheme of the unfaithful.  

[8:19] If you seek victory, surely you will gain victory, however, if you refrain, it is better for you, and if you return, we will also return and your number does not benefit you in the least no matter how great and remember that God10351270 is with the faithful.

[8:20] O you who have faith, you shall obey God10361271 and His messenger and do not turn your backs on Him, while you are hearing.

[8:21] Do not be like those who said we hear, but they never really understood.

[8:22] Surely the worst creature in the site of God10371272, are the deaf and the dumb, those who do not use their minds.

[8:23] Had God10381273 known of any good in them, He would have made them understand. Even if they could understand, they would have still turned away complaining.

[8:24] O you who have faith, you shall respond to God10391274 and His messenger when He invites you towards the very thing that grants you life. Furthermore, you shall know that indeed God10401275 is closer to a man than his heart and that before Him you will be gathered.

[8:25] And watch out for the test that may not be reserved exclusively for those who committed injustice. And you shall know that indeed the severest consequence is enforced by God10411276.

[8:26] And you should remember the time when you were few and oppressed on the land, and you feared that you may be taken in by the people, then He gave you a home and gave you a helping hand and provided for you clean provision that you may be grateful.

[8:27] O you who have faith, do not betray God10421277 and the messenger and neither shall you betray deposits entrusted to you while you know.

[8:28] And you shall know that your money and your children are tests and that indeed the magnificent reward is reserved at God10431278.

[8:29] O you who have faith if you fear God10441279, He will set up for you laws and remit your sins and forgive you. And God10451280 is Possessor of infinite grace.

[8:30] And when those who scheme against you in order to hold you back or to kill you or to evict you continue to scheme, but so does God10461281, for God10471282 is the best schemer.

[8:31] And when Our signs are recited to them, they said; indeed we have heard, if we wanted to, we could produce the same thing, these are nothing but tales from the past.

[8:32] And when they said; O god if this is the truth from you, then pour upon us rocks from the sky or afflict us with a most painful suffering.

[8:33] And God10481283, will never punish them while you are in their midst. And God10491284 will never punish them while they are seeking forgiveness.

[8:34] And why should not God10501285 punish them when they diverted from the Sacred Mosque and they were not His allies? His only allies are the god-fearing ones but most of them do not comprehend.

[8:35] And their contact prayer at the House was no more than a joke and a barrier. Therefore taste the agony due to your disbelief.

[8:36] Indeed those who have no faith spend their money to repel from the path of God10511286. They will soon spend it, only to bring sorrow for them and they will be defeated. And those who have no faith will be gathered in Gehenna.

[8:37] This is because God10521287 sifts out the evil from the good and piles up some evil on top of others in a bundle then throws them all in Gehenna. These are the real losers.

[8:38] Tell those who have no faith if they discontinue they will be forgiven for what they have done in the past and if they revert, then their destiny is the same as those of the previous generations.

[8:39] And you shall fight them until there is no more turmoil and the faith can be completely devoted to God10531288. However, if they refrain then indeed God10541289 is All Seer of what they do.

[8:40] And if they revert, then you shall know that God10551290 is your Lord the best Lord and the best Supporter.

[8:41] Therefore, you shall know that any sudden gain you receive whereupon a fifth of it belongs to God10561291, and for the messenger, and for the relatives, and for the fatherless, and the needy, and for the refugees if you have faith in God10571292 and in what we revealed to Our servant on the day of the statute book, the day the two groups met. And God10581293 is All Powerful over all things.

[8:42] When you occupied the high ground, they occupied the low ground and their cavalry was even lower. Had you arranged this you would have botched it, however, God10591294 preordains every task according to how it is to be done in order to annihilate those who are to be annihilated for a specific reason and keep alive those who are to stay alive for a specific reason. And indeed God10601295 is All Hearer, All Knowing.

[8:43] God10611296 showed their numbers few in your dream, had He shown their number many, you would have weakened and disputed amongst yourselves, however, God10621297 pacified you, for indeed He knows all about the innermost thoughts.

[8:44] And when He showed them few in your eyes as you came face to face with them and showed you few in their eyes, God10631298 fulfilled a preordained task. And to God10641299 is the final destiny.

[8:45] O you who have faith when you come face to face with a group, you shall be steadfast and commemorate God10651300 frequently that you may succeed.

[8:46] And obey God10661301 and His messenger and do not dispute so that you become weak and your strength is all gone. You shall be patient. Indeed God10671302 is with those who are patient.

[8:47] And do not be like those who exit their homes with a fake smile in order to impress people and repel from the path of God10681303. And God10691304 has fully encompassed everything they do.

[8:48] And when Satan adorned their works in their eyes and said, no one can defeat you today since I am on your side, however, when he saw the two armies, he turned around saying, I am no longer with you, I see what you do not see, I am indeed afraid of God10701305. And God10711306 enforces the most severe consequence.

[8:49] And when the hypocrites and those with impure hearts say; these have been deceived by their religion, they do not realize that whoever trusts God10721307 shall know that God10731308 is Almighty, All Wise.

[8:50] If you could only see those who have no faith when their lives are terminated! The angels beat their faces and their rear ends, saying; taste the agony of the Inferno.

[8:51] This is because of what their own hands brought upon them, for God10741309 is never unjust towards His servants.

[8:52] Just like the lifestyle of the people of Pharaoh and those before them. They disbelieved in God10751310's Signs and God10761311 made them suffer because of their sins. Indeed God10771312 is All Powerful in enforcing the most severe consequence.

[8:53] This is because God10781313 does not change the blessing He has bestowed upon a people until they change themselves, and God10791314 is All Hearer, All Knowing.

[8:54] Just like the lifestyle of the people of Pharaoh and those before them. They rejected their Lord's signs; We therefore, annihilated them because of their sins as We drowned the people of Pharaoh. And they all committed injustice.

[8:55] Indeed the most evil creatures in the site of God10801315 are those who have no faith, those who will never attain faith.

[8:56] Those amongst them who have a treaty with you, then they break it every time and they never fear god.

[8:57] Therefore, if you meet them in war, you shall disperse them as a possible reminder to those after them.

[8:58] And if you fear betrayal from a group, you shall deal with them equitably. Indeed God10811316 does not love the betrayers.

[8:59] And those who have no faith should not reckon that they have won. Surely they can never be victorious.

[8:60] And you shall mobilize against them with all the might you can muster such as the cavalry that you may frighten God10821317's enemy and your enemy and as for those among them whom you do not know, God10831318 knows them. And whatever you spend in the cause of God10841319, you will be repaid fully and will not suffer any injustice.

[8:61] And if they resort to peace so shall you and put your trust in God10851320. Indeed He is All Hearer, All Knower.

[8:62] And if they try to deceive you, God10861321 suffices you. He is the one who gives a helping hand to you as well as to the faithful.

[8:63] And He reconciled their hearts. Had you spent everything on the land, you would not have been able to reconcile their hearts, however, God10871322 reconciled them. Indeed He is Almighty, All Wise.

[8:64] O you prophet, God10881323 is sufficient for you as well as the faithful who obey you.

[8:65] O you prophet, you shall exhort the faithful to fight. If there are twenty of you persevering, you can defeat two hundred. And if there are one hundred of you, you can defeat one thousand of those who have no faith; this is because they are people who do not comprehend.

[8:66] Now God10891324 has reduced the favor upon you, since He knows that indeed weakness has crept into your midst. Therefore, if there are one hundred of you persevering, you can defeat two hundred. And if there are one thousand of you, you can defeat two thousand by God10901325's permission. And God10911326 is with those who steadfastly persevere.

[8:67] Not even a prophet shall boast about taking prisoners of war, unless he has participated in battle. You seek the provision of this world, while God10921327 advocates the Hereafter. And God10931328 is Almighty, All Wise.

[8:68] If it were not for a scripture from God10941329 that was preordained, you would have been afflicted with a tremendous suffering.

[8:69] Therefore, you may consume your unexpected gains, for it is both lawful and clean. And you shall fear God10951330. Indeed, God10961331 is All Forgiving, All Merciful.

[8:70] O you prophet, tell the prisoners of war in your custody that if God10971332 knew of any good in your hearts, He would have granted you better than any loss you had incurred and He would have forgiven you. And God10981333 is All Forgiving, All Merciful.

[8:71] And if they betray you, they also betrayed God10991334 in the past, so He made them losers. And God11001335 is All Knowing, All Wise.

[8:72] Surely those who have faith and emigrated and strove with their money and their lives in the cause of God11011336 as well as those who provided shelter for them and helped them are one another's ally. As for those who have faith, but did not emigrate, you do not owe them any allegiance, unless they emigrate. If they ask you for help according to the faith, you shall help them, except against people whom you have a treaty. And God11021337 is All Seeing of whatever you do.

[8:73] And as for the unfaithful, they are allies of one another. Unless you act according to this, turmoil will spread throughout the land and a great corruption.

[8:74] And those who have faith and emigrated and strove in the cause of God11031338, as well as those who provided shelter for them and helped them, they are the true faithful. They have deserved forgiveness and a generous provision.

[8:75] And those who attained faith later on and emigrated and strove alongside you, then they also belong with you. Those who are relatives; some possess higher priority over others according to God11041339's scripture. Indeed God11051340 has full knowledge of all things.
