[90:1] I swear by this town-

[90:2] -and you, a resident of this town,-

[90:3] and the parent and the child.

[90:4] We have certainly created the human being to go through hardship.

[90:5] Does he think that no one has any power over him?

[90:6] He boasts; "I have spent so much money".

[90:7] Does he think that no one can see him?

[90:8] Did We not create for him two eyes-

[90:9] -and a tongue, and two lips-

[90:10] -and showed him the two paths?

[90:11] He should therefore choose the difficult one.

[90:12] And do you know what the difficult one is?

[90:13] Freeing the slaves.

[90:14] Or feeding someone during hard times,-

[90:15] -a fatherless who is close by,-

[90:16] -or a needy who is homeless,-

[90:17] -then if he is one of those who had attained faith, and enjoins others to patience, and enjoins others to kindness,-

[90:18] -these will be the dwellers of the bliss.

[90:19] As for those who reject Our signs, they will be the dwellers of misery.

[90:20] They will be surrounded by Fire.
