Sura 92: Al-Layl (The Night)
اللَّيْل
21 verses · Revelation order 9
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the name of God, The All Gracious, The All Merciful

وَمَا خَلَقَ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓ ٣
[92:3]
By what created the male and the female.

فَأَمَّا مَنْ أَعْطَىٰ وَٱتَّقَىٰ ٥
[92:5]
As for the one who is charitable and righteous-

فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ ٧
[92:7]
-We will direct him towards happiness.

وَأَمَّا مَنۢ بَخِلَ وَٱسْتَغْنَىٰ ٨
[92:8]
But the one who is stingy and rich-

فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ لِلْعُسْرَىٰ ١٠
[92:10]
-We will direct him towards misery.

وَمَا يُغْنِى عَنْهُ مَالُهُۥٓ إِذَا تَرَدَّىٰٓ ١١
[92:11]
His money will never help him, once he falls.

وَإِنَّ لَنَا لَلْـَٔاخِرَةَ وَٱلْأُولَىٰ ١٣
[92:13]
To Us belongs the Hereafter as well as this life.

فَأَنذَرْتُكُمْ نَارًا تَلَظَّىٰ ١٤
[92:14]
Therefore, I warn you of a blazing Fire.

لَا يَصْلَىٰهَآ إِلَّا ٱلْأَشْقَى ١٥
[92:15]
None shall burn therein except the wicked.

ٱلَّذِى كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ ١٦
[92:16]
The one who rejected and turned away.

وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَا ٱلْأَتْقَى ١٧
[92:17]
Avoiding it shall be the righteous.

ٱلَّذِى يُؤْتِى مَالَهُۥ يَتَزَكَّىٰ ١٨
[92:18]
The one who gives from his money in order to cleanse it.

وَمَا لِأَحَدٍ عِندَهُۥ مِن نِّعْمَةٍ تُجْزَىٰٓ ١٩
[92:19]
He wants nothing in return.

إِلَّا ٱبْتِغَآءَ وَجْهِ رَبِّهِ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ ٢٠
[92:20]
He seeks only the face of his Lord, The Exalted.
